I recently purchased a brand new model of Sony Vao VPCEB1S1E/BJ from a local megastore. While the laptop is really to my liking, I am a little annoyed with the screen.
I know these laptops are those "energy star" models, that save power, but the display brightness is really not bright enough, even if I change the settings to the brightest possible leve
After running my B570 (1068) with an extended display, the unit went into hibernation. On wake-up the laptop screen is indecipherable garbage. The second display will run to show BIOS startup but then reverts to the built-in screen - which is illegible. Toggling the F3 key does not get a good screen.
I read another post suggesting this is a hardware failure. What parts have failed?
A few weeks ago I cracked my glossy 1366x768 display on my Envy DV6 7227SA (product number C4V06EA#ABU). I have found a replacement online (part number 682089-001) but I was wondering if I could replace it with a matte 1920x1080 display (Part number 682090-001). I'm running Windows 8 64 bit
EDIT: This is the part I currently have in my notebook (broken) - [URL] ....
And this is what I'm wanting to replace it with - [URL] .....
i bought a Sony VGN-AW31XY/Q notebook. Fast processor, 2 SSDs, 18.4" display, 8GB ram AND a antiglare display.
BUT it's a wide gamut display and i'm a webdesigner. I didn't know there is such a huge difference between this and a "normal" display. Red and green are oversaturated like hell.
My question: HOW or CAN i change the colors to "normal"? The point is, calibrating Photoshop or any other color managed software is no problem. But i need color mangagement for ANY other software too (Flash, Google Chrome and so on). There must be a solution.
Isn't there a tool that loads on startup where i can adjust the colors? Not only brightness, contrast and gamma levels but saturation and hue also?
Whats the major difference between 16.4" VAIO Display (1600x900) and 16.4" VAIO extra-wide HD display (1920x1080). Upto what angle I could see my display in VAIO Display (1600x900)? Can I watch HD movies perfectly in VAIO Display (1600x900) ?
Anyone else experience issues with the display port on the e series dock?
I've got a E6400, E4300 and E4200 that I'm using with a E Port replicator.
I'm connecting it to a dell ultrasharp U2410 monitor via display port.
Several times a day, the monitor will go blank and say there is no signal, then 10 seconds later turn back on.
Several more times a day the monitor will go into standby and say there is no signal, the only way to get it back on is to open up the laptop and press FN F8 several times to switch the outputs, and sometimes that will work, other times it won't. in that case I have to either reboot the computer, or go into the intel graphics settings, tell it to use single monitor, and use the dell digital u2410.
I've called dell support, they are useless. I've updated the video drivers, I've reloaded the computer, I've tried 3 computers (but on the same dock since I only have one docking station).
I was interested in buying the Dv7t labtop within the next few months but was wondering what screen is better.Do I get the BrightView or Brightview Infinity Widescreen Display.
I have problem about 4k display. I bought lenovo y5070 and installed win 8.1V3 but when i open some window such as "cmd console" , the words are very small also name of some buttons are unclear...
I purchased this Ideapad Z50-70 laptop two days back. It was DOS based so I had to install Windows 8.1 OS myself. After installing the OS, I installed all the drivers for this laptop.
The display of the laptop is set to Full HD resolution i.e. 1920*1080. However, it doesn't look as sharp and crips as a normal HD display should be. The text and other things looks blurred. Also, the contrast of the screen doesn't seem well. Though the resolution is set to Full HD, I'm not feeling the quality smoothness and sharpness of the full HD display.
I have an external display and I want to be able to shut down the laptop display when I'm using the external one. How do I do this? Is there a setting that can automaticly switch off laptop display when an external display is connected?
Can I close down my laptop's display while I'm working with an external display, keyboard and mouse?
On my Nvidia Control Panel I only have 3 options: Adjust image setings with preview, Manage 3D setings and Set PsysX Configuration. Shouldn't I have a lot more options given by the Nvidia driver?
I bought a new lenovo Z50-70 this month. Is is having i5 processor, 1tb hdd, 4gb ram. I really like this lappy but i am dissatisfied with the display. It is having a full hd display but it is blinking only when running on battery.I also dont know whether others facing the same issue or not.
My Y500 (one of the older models) has some weird display issues for some time now. When I try to adjust the screen angle, some horizontal green lines appear randomly on my screen. Some other parts also have vertical magenta lines. Then I have to try several angles until I find a position where the display doesn't show any problems. This happens almost every time when I open the display and turn it on. Sometimes it is less of a problem and sometimes more. If I don't move the laptop or the screen the problem does not show up. My drivers should all be up to date and I have Windows 8.1.
how to change the screen resolution but, it won't stay at recommended resolution when I restart my laptop, it keeps going back too the smallest resolution. I have to go and change the resolution every time I turn it back on.
My notebook is hp pavilion 15-e014tx. whn I 1st used it i vedio adapter shows that its using amd radeon hd 8600 series. bt after a while its using the intel hd 400.....i upgrated many times amd driver bt every time it updates the intel driver why is that?
Well after i reformat my pc the gray window that shows after you touch one of the five touch sensitive button doesn't show.same goes when you Fn+F5 which supposed to show WLAN and bluetooth card settings. What application or something i have to install for this?
No matter what settings are used in Lenovo settings, my display turns piss yellow after boot up. Then I have to manually change it back to normal. How do I disable that paper display?
I'm trying to set up the laptop to use an external monitor via HDMI. I tried a setting but it didn't work. However the laptop screen went blank and now I can't undo the changes.
On reboot, the screen works until the Window splash screen then it goes blank as the computer continues to boot up. Booting into safe mode works, but I can't access the graphics card properties from there.
Tried unplugging the HDMI cable, but doesn't work.
How can I bring back the default display settings without doing a hard reset? (It's not my own computer)....
I have just bought a new Ideapad Z510 (Core i7 4702MQ, GeForce GT 745M, display Full HD, 1TB HDD+SSD. I have a strange problem: when I connect an external display via HDMI it goes blank after some minutes. THe same display connected via VGA is ok. I have tried two different HDMI cable and the behaviour was the same.
Video drivers for both Intel integrated GPU and NVIDIA discrete one are update.
Just upgraded from Windows 8.1 preview to Windows 8.1... since then my display doesn't look right at all. Resolution seems to be set to 1920x1080... which I belive is correct.
But text, icons and windows seem bigger than they were before.
Also the display is lacking sharpness around text. Do I need to upgrade some drivers or something?
I use a high resolution monitor; therefore, I use display scaling. But for many programs I prefer to turn it off since the display quality is better. For 32-bit programs there is no problem with this: open program properties, then, Compatibility => Disable display scaling on high DPI settings. However, when I try to do this for a 64-bit program, I find that the corresponding check box is disabled.
I am quite bugged by the Caps Lock onscreen display, since I cannot find a way to only turn off the capslock display without turning off all displays.
This display drops my FPS from about 70 to 40 when I'm playing video games which is bugging me a lot. But I would like to keep my other displays like soundlevel and screen brightness.
And yes, I know that it is possible to keep the capslock display for only 3 seconds when turning it on too, but I want it to be not displayed at all. I have a green light on my keyboard which is good for me.
So is it possible to completely turn off the capslock display without turning off the other displays?
I recently downgraded my G710 from Windows 8 (which it came with), to Windows 7. The only issue I've noticed is that it does not display anything on screen when you use the function keys, such as the volume up or down, or bright ness up or down. The keys work, but it would be nice to see on screen that my volume is set at 2% vs say 100% when I'm turning it up or down.
Shortly after I received my laptop, I installed a third-party battery monitor, BatteryCare, to monitor the battery in the laptop because I'd used it on previous software and liked having a second source of information. I've been running the laptop like a desktop for the last few months though and havent had to pay any attention to batter life, since the thing is always plugged in so I decided to delete BatteryCare.
The uninstall went fine, but when I restarted the computer I noticed that the icon displaying remaining battery life did not reappear. I went digging to see if the uninstallation might have uninstalled a driver but I couldn't find anything indicating a problem like this. I still have the Energy Monitor - just nothing showing up much juice is left in the battery.
Any pointers on what drivers/devices I might have to reinstall to get power monitor icon back. I checked the Driver Matrix, here, but I couldn't find anything about solution. Should I just reinstall the Energy Management utility?
I have a Lenovo G480 that runs on windows 7 64 bit. I reformatted it and i noticed that when i perform a fn+key the display notification no longer shows. It works though but i wanted to see the display notification on the screen every time i perform i do fn+key.
Trying to find a way/hotkey to turn off the built-in display whilst I'm connected to another external monitor with the Thinkpad S1 Yoga model. How to do it?
I could even remap any of the default hotkeys, how to do that as well, as the defaults are not too useful for me...
In fact, my W500 is over 5 years old but I do not have any complaints on its performance except the WUXGA display is rather dim which makes it hardly useable on open-air. I do not recall that problem at purchase time. When googling around I see different reasons for a dim display
a) cabling - would not consider this beacuase the screen is not flickering and does not show any discrepancies - it's just dim b) inverter - this is not a real inverter, is it? c) display panel - it does not seem very difficult to replace d) motherboard - I am unsure whether I would challenge a replacement
Is there a way to find out which way to start working around? I mean buying a panel if it comes out at the end that I had needed a new motherboard would rather make me blue.
Or should I accept the fact that time has gone and I have to look for an other computer because it does not worth bothering. What do you think?
