Lenovo Y510P P/Y/Z Series :: Speakers Seem To Crackle And Pop Whenever Play Music Or Games
Mar 14, 2014My computer (the Lenovo Y510P) started acting up the first day I bought it. It runs smoothly and everything, but the speakers seem to crackle and pop whenever I play music or games (even at a low volume). I've been seeing that many Lenovo Y510P users have been having this same issue and can assume that the problem is a hardware issue because:
1) Installing different versions of sound drivers AND even downloading the recommended sound drivers from Lenovo DOES NOT WORK.
2) Changing the power options DOES NOT WORK.
3) Plugged in headphones and even bluetooth can hear the static.
I'm thinking about returning this laptop since this is the 3rd day of having it. If there's no fix for this defect, I'm returning it before the 7th day.
Lenovo P/Y/Z Series :: Y510p Freezes But Can Still Move The Mouse
Aug 30, 2013I recently purchased a Lenovo y510p for college. I do not use it that often because i have a nice desktop at home and have not moved yet. When i do use it, it freezes 3-5 minutes after the start up. during the freeze i can move the mouse but when i click on anything nothing happens. When i mouse to the corners the normal windows 8 thing dont pop up. After it gets done freezing for a few minutes evertying i clicked on or did during the freeze pops up really fast.
I believe i have updated all my drivers. i unistalled mcafee and really only have a few things installed liked Steam, and Final Fantasy 14: A Real Reborn. Sometimes after the freeze windowns stops responding and i have to hard reset. At that poing i somtimes get stuck in a boot loop and just have to keep resetting till it fixes itself. I also installed chrome.
I dont want to have to reistall windows or do a factory reset. i do have a warrenty but i start school in 2 days and cant really ship this anywhere. I dont have the serial number with me but i have the laptop with the duel graphics.

May 16, 2014I have that laptop for about 4 months, today for some reason i went playing Maxpayne 3 and while in game, few minutes later the PC starts to BEEP like alarm clock without stopping, I cant see any heating problems, the GPU's are on 67C no more.
The main problem is that i cant see any messages from WIndows about any issues on the system
I have just checked with FURMARK - when the GPU1 goes to 80C its starts beeping - is it supposed to be like that?

Jun 20, 2014I bought a Lenovo Y510P 4 days ago. The laptop is amazing and i love it execpt for one proble,... while playing games i get a message about every 5 minutes saying that my ram is full and to exit out of the game
i have my virtual memory setting set to No page file for both of the things that i could change the setting to (there were only two different things in the virtual memory options which where Windows 8 and (lenovo)).
what should i set windows 8 and Lenovos virutal memory usage to? i thought i was suppost to select no page file but that has not worked.
i have 8gb of ram and while gaming 60 percent of it is being used so i know its not full
Lenovo Y510P P/Y/Z Series :: Speaker And Headphone Play Sound Same Time Together
Nov 18, 2013Before installing Realtek HD Audio Driver in control panel > sound > playback windows show headphone jack but red led in headphone jack is on and I have only speaker sound when I put headphone in jack don't recognize it .
After installing Realtek HD Audio Driver in playback device only show Speakers and I have Sound in speaker and headphone at the same time together.
1. tested in windows 7 , windows 8 , windows 8.1 64bit
2. tested with last driver from Realtalk and Lenovo driver download (and also orginal driver)
3. tested with 5 headphone
4. realtalk control panel don't show headphone that in jack (but after driver install headphone and speaker work at same time !!!!)
5. I am checked to show disable device in playback sound window.
I am Thinking problem is :
1. Drivers that is in the Lenovo site have problem and should be updated because after I install driver it recognize the headphone but cannot stop the speaker at this time
2. my headphone switch in the jack have a problem
Lenovo P/Y/Z Series :: Y510p Freezes While Playing A Game - Boot Fails On Restart
Feb 4, 2014I've had my Y510p (8GB RAM, DVD Ultrabay option) for a bit more than four months now and it's been working perfectly for most of the time- however, two days ago, while playing a game the computer or the game itself froze. After trying to bring the Task Manager up/kill the game, I decided to restart it- I turned it off, but once it came back on, it had decided to start "Preparing Automatic Repair". After several times unsuccessfully "repairing" (after which again "preparing") it (it had given me an error, something with Srttrail.txt file), I decided to look up and search the Internet for people with a similar/the same problem- none of the methods worked. So, I decided it could've been from software I've installed or similar- I didn't have things THAT important (I haven't made any back-ups, nor a recovery USB), so I made an initial state lenovo recovery using the Novo button.
After several more fixing methods (unsuccessfull again, people suggested getting into the command promt, using the chkdsk command, but it was in a drive called x:, couldn't find other drives/changing from UEFI to Legacy Support in BIOS settings, I changed them, then changed them back to defaults) it started giving me the "IPv4/IPv6 Network 0 (MAC Adress) boot failed" errors and several tries more, now it constantly gives me the "Windows boot Manager boot failed" error, followed by the IPv4/IPv6 ones. after which it takes me to a blank bright-blue screen with my only cursor visible (similar to what it does i I tell it to go to Lenovo recovery menu now). Also, after trying to turn it on (in the current/last state) it gave me the 0xc000000f error. So, what's happening (the HDD is recognized in the BIOS, the laptop itslef hasn't been moved more then four or five time and used properly)? I have no instalation/repair disc with the laptop.
Lenovo G510 B / G Series :: Doesn't Switches GPUs When Play Games
Oct 12, 2013I just bought Lenovo G510 Laptop with Intel HD 4600 and Radeon 8750M. Everything fine exept the fact it doesn't switches GPUs when I play games. I tried everything. I set it the max performence when pluged in to AC and I set it to use max performance when playing games. Nothing works, the games show that the Intel GPU is working and the Radeon not. I have the latest drivers from Lenovo, I searched over the internet, nothing works. I just cant get the 8750M to work.

It is freezing programs(firefox, IE, Chrome, explorer, Flash CC, blender, and a few other programs I needed to install for school. It sometimes freezes on startup and I have to hold the power button down to restart it. Sometimes when it restarts it takes 10-15 mins to fully boot up and load up to the login screen.

Jan 1, 2015I have a problem with hdmi output to my TV screen.
I have Y510P (i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40GHz, Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600
& NVIDIA GeForce GT 755M, Win 8.1 64-bit(6.3 build 9600), all with latest drivers )
My TV is Panasonic TH-L32B6. When I connect my laptop to TV it shows me awful picture quality and notification that “this is not optimal screen resolution for the primary display. The optimal res. Is 1280x720”. But with 1280x720 it’s still awful. It works fine just with 1024x768 res. I have no such a problem with my other TV LG 47LS570Y. How can i fix picture quality with higher resolution? I tried another OS like Ubuntu and a couple of hdmi cables…(see attachment)

Dell :: What Games Can I Play?
Oct 5, 2009I only use laptops for some wifi, docs and music but I thought it was time for a slight upgrade so I found a deal on a Studio 15 and bought it.
I would like to start playing some games, not serious, but just some fun games to pass the time.
Below is my config, I am not sure what kind of games it can handle.
The system ended up costing me $735 brand new at Dell with my discounts.

Lenovo P/Y/Z Series :: Y510P Discharging By 1% Every Day
Oct 26, 2013My lenovo Y510P used to always be at 100% but I have realized it has been decreasing by 1 every day. I have it on Maximum Battery Life with the Energy Management application.
It is currently at 85% and I would have posted this sooner if I had payed attention. I changed it to Optimized Battery Health and it is now dropping, currently at 75%.
I always leave the laptop plugged in because I usually play games on it such as battlefield, dayZ, counter strike, etc.
Lenovo P/Y/Z Series :: Y510p BF3 Sudden Low FPS
Jan 4, 2014I've been playing Battlefield 3 for some time on Auto settings (most of them are Ultra) and my FPS were always in the range 65-85. Yesterday morning everything was fine, however at night when I opened the game again I had 10-15 FPS. I haven't changed anything in my laptop settings so I don't know why this is happening.
P.S: I only have 1 GPU (not the SLI version) so I know it's not a loss of power. But my battery settings are set to "Optimized battery health". Does it affect performance ?
Lenovo Y510p P/Y/Z Series :: USB 2.0 Not Working
Feb 10, 2015I've got Y510p with USB 2.0 not working. By the time it malfunctioned it was under warranty and I sent it in the service center. They have claimed that it has been repaired (USB board has been changed) but it is still not working and my warranty ended like 3 days after I sent it back. Since then (1 month ago) I am returning it to the service center for 3 times (last one was today) and I feel they can't fix it. URL....

I found product key with a software and after that i open the "add feature to windows 8.1" . And when I choose "i already have product key" and put the product key , it does not accept . and says "this key won't work" .

Dec 13, 2014- When I put the laptop in sleep by closing the monitor, if I open the monitor later, it will wake up but the screen (windows 8.1) is freezed.
I can move the mouse, and the keyboard is active (caps and num lock). However none of the controls on windows screen are active (password, shutdown button , etc). Ill need to keep the power button until it shuts down.
- If I put the laptop to sleep using the windows shutdown/sleep/restart option, it wakes up without problem.
- I tried to turn on hybrid sleep, but it made things worse. When waking up the monitor will be black for ever (the hard drive is working).
- I have installed the drivers from lenovo website. What else should I try?

Jan 3, 2015When I recieved my Y510p about 8 months ago, the usb ports worked perfectly fine. Around October they stopped working properly. The only solution which I found to work was doing a system restore. When I did this, an Unrecognized Device in the Device Manager was no longer unrecognized, and was instead replaced by USB xHCL (or something along those lines). However, as soon as i restared my computer again, the ports broke, and the unrecognized device reappeared. Repeating the restore followed by a restart breaks the ports every time.

Jan 10, 2014I have a new y510p I just received this week. First thing I did was replace the 1TB HD with my own OCZ Vertex 4 256GB SSD Drive.When I power on the laptop for the first time, it does not find a bootable device (goes through network devices, then says no bootable devices). If I use ctrl-alt-delete to reboot the laptop, it then finds the drive on its own and starts booting into Windows.
I'd like to understand why this does not work on the first boot? I went into the BIOS and saw it says there that no drives are detected.This worries me slightly, as perhaps one day it will decide to no longer recognize the drive after the ctrl-alt-delete?
