I bought my sony FW 140D the week they were released and therefore was stuck with the ATI 3470 graphics card .....

Sony :: Vaio Z Graphic
Nov 27, 2009My Z decides to give me a bluescreen whenever it wakes up from hybernation (under stamina and speed) and whenever I try to play newer games such as l4d. Older games such as ut2004 run fine...
I updates the Bios to R2, updated to the nvidia drivers and everything is running fine (brightness etc in both modes).
I was thinking it maybe has something to do with the directx version (11) but that wouldnt explain the wake up blue screen.
Z21vn running win 7 x64 ultimate
I also noticed when I try to change the power settings from high performance to anything else, i get a blue screen as well (system_service_exception)

Mar 27, 2010It seems that I encounter a lot o problems with this new Vaio Z. In device manager everytihg seems to be ok except the Standard VGA Graphics Adapter which by the way has this error code: This device cannot start. (Code 10). Anyway, I guess that the above one is the actual graphics card and that one seems to be ok.
The display worked fine for 1 day but then I got this:

May 2, 2009I'm trying to update my Sony VAIO VGN-CR510D/W graphic's driver (GM965). Intel's site has the newest one 7.15.10.1666 and mine is currently at 7.14.10.1295. I go to "Update Driver" in my Device Manager but It does not find a new one. I downloaded the new one manually but it won't let me install it (Not supported). I am running Vista Home Premium 32bit.

May 11, 2010I have been using the Vaio Z and it has run flawlessly. I even have been playing games such as Splinter Cell Conviction, Mass Effect 2, Dirt 2, and others. Recently however, I have been having lag issues with my graphics card. It happened first when I was playing Splinter Cell where every 4 seconds it would become choppy. I thought perhaps I was running it too high, but ever at the lowest everything (640 res, lowest everything) I had this stuttering issue. I started having this issue with all the games I use to be able to play perfectly. I have once uninstalled my nvidia drivers, but I reinstalled the nvidia drivers from sonys site and the latest physx drivers from nvidia.

Feb 11, 2009im searching a way, how to change the graphic card....
How to replace the 9300M GS with a 9600M GT or something that are faster.
There must be a way to speedup the graphic... and we can construct a better cooling design.
I think a faster graphic card, like the 9600M GT, is better for the laptop, because, they have more pixel pipelines and all that.
I think if you underclock the graphic card, it will be much cooler and you can play much better games... in better performance, and much cooler as with the 9300M GS.....

Jun 21, 2009Earlier i changed my window vista home premium to window 7, but then i changed it to window vista ultimate.
when i had window 7, my graphics card which is nvidia work perfectly fine, but after i change to window vista ultimate, i " lost " my nvidia driver. i downloaded nvidia driver at ww.nvidia.com but when i tried to install it, i get an error " The NVIDIA setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hrdware. Setup will now exit."
I really want to install that driver, i have nvidia graphic card but i cant install the driver

Jul 10, 2009I just want to show you how much overclock you can expect from the HD4650 Mobile graphic card. Wait for 1080P Full HD results.
I don't have external monitor to do 1280x1024 standard test, I'll post the results next week when my monitor arrived.
( Due to poor 128Bit memory controller VGA can't handle 1080P res gaming even with No AA/All settings Low & Crysis FPS stay below 25. However 720P gaming is superb & Crysis stay above 36FPS all time with NO AA/ All Medium setting)

Jan 4, 2010I own this dv2-1122ax for 2 months and I have this random issue where my screen will freeze for 5-10secs, followed by a black screen and recover to the initial screen.
There's a bubble message saying "Display driver atikmdag stopped responding and has successfully recovered" error
This issue happens in windows environment. While web browsing, watching videos, going through menus or exploring through "My Computer"
It happens with factory vista image and even in windows 7 (upgrade/fresh) with factory drivers, updated drivers from hp.com after driver sweeper from guru3d.
I even tried the 9.9 ati mobility driver and the latest ati drivers with mobility mod tool.
Is this a hardware fault or driver incompatibility?
Right now, the notebook is with hp service centre and I just got a text message from hp saying "the part for your unit is currently on part hold"

Someone was asking me if they fit in a Dell M1710?
Some google searches showed that they came with a 7900 card. I just don't want to give out wrong info. Can this laptop accept the 7950 card(s)

Sep 17, 2008Yesterday when i was watching movie strange lines appeared on screen. I restarted and noticed they even appear on DELL welcome screen;/ so its not driver problem. My laptop temperatures are ok also, and i never overclocked it.
Performance in games dropped to zero too.
Is there any way to fix it or i have to replace my graphic card ?

May 6, 2009Does anyone heard a noice coming from the "circuit board" of graphic card when you are running a game or during the gpu test in 3dmark? The sound like "si si si si" is quite annoying.
I confirmed is not the problem of the fan of gpu and guess the noice is from the circuit board of gpu..
Dell :: Graphic Card Is Broken
Nov 23, 2007I'm getting a weird white vertical line , about 2 inches thick, all over my display, it doesn't matter if I'm browsing software, or just at boot screen, the line is there.
Weird thing is, it seems to randomly dissappear sometimes, but appears again when trying to shut down the lappy, is the first time this thing happen to my display and I shuted down my lappy, hoping its propably a heat problem.

Dec 18, 2009I have a Dell laptop (inspiron 510m) . When I wanted to install Visual Stdio the computer gave an ERROR that say conflict whith * PROSet(INTEL) * , I could not Install Visual Stdio so I had to uninstall *PROSet (INTEL)* that was in add-remove list .
After uninstal it the shape of icon in launch bar and desktop and font of the software don't have sharpness and resoloutin (it's look like when the computer dosen't have graphic driver

Oct 2, 2008i have this m1730 with the 8800m GTX SLI and im currently running the 179.13 drivers for it and im having this weird issue(had it with all the drivers i have had) ever since i got my samsung monitor ive either noticed it because of the a larger size or its come to arise that certain colors, especially bright yellows, when displayed cause a weird form of tearing that horizontally moves bands of pixels over to the left of where they sposed to be, i have tried many different drivers and the problem still exists, this even still happens in games with vsync enabled.

Nov 20, 2009i bought a acer gemstone 5920G M laptop a couple of years ago and the graphic card has blown up had someone look at it and he told me to buy a new graphic card to replace the blown one.
The card i need is a Nvidia 8600M GS 512 meg version im finding it difficult to find this card does anyone know of any companies. i did manage to speak to one company and they said they were out of stock but they told me i could use an nvidia 8600M GT card instead.

Jul 24, 2009got the 8930g with a 9700m GT 512mb DDR3, question is, the core clock on it is 575 max, isn't that maybe a little low? memory is 800 max, checked these via gpu-z.
Basically is this normal for the DDR3 model.

Jan 4, 2010i have acer 1810tz the problem is when im playing h.264 coded videos in fullscreen mode i have some strange line in the middle of the screen not always just sometimes specialy when there is movening in the video its like the video been divided into to pieces and then tried to put next to each other so it would be one picture,
in original size it works normal i tried all media players you can find and it still there i guess something is wrong with my graphic card

Sep 2, 2009When I power on my laptop, blue dots or blue lines appears on the screen. As soon windows vista boot screen comes, a multi color screen appears and it stays there until i restart. I have did all the troubleshooting such as memory modules replacement, factory restore, system recovery etc. but couldnt able to solve the issue.
When I go into safemode and remove the nvidia drivers, system starts working in 16bit color mode. I have installed several graphic drivers but then again multi color screen appears on windows boot screen.
As per my local repair shop, its an issue with integreated graphic chip and he can fix it by replacing it with another graphic chip. therefore no need to replace the board.
Is it possible to replace the chip?
