I guess I have similar issues re drivers on win7 Home Premium 64bit. I recently did a clean install of the W7x64 (full retail) on my tt11wn/b (Core 2 Duo 1.2ghz, 4gb ram). Everything seems to be working fine, except for some driver problems:
- Light sensor doesn't work, even though it has been enabled in the vaio control center.
- Base System Device issue in the 'Device Manager', unrecognised device perhaps a card reader, but under 'SD host adapters' there is SDA standard compliant SD host controller recognised.
Have been surfing internet past few days for solutions, but didn't find any, also checked Sony Europen Support Portal for 64 bit drivers, which provides some but apparently not for the above. For me, the most important thing is get the light sensor working properly, otherwise I don't use the later 2 much anyway, but fixing them is good too.
After installing Win7 Home Premium 64bit on my Vaio TT11WN/B laptop, everything seemed to be working fine, except automatic display sensor which I couldn't manage to fix at all.
Recently, I also discovered that in-built Microphone is not working as well while attempted to use Skype. I installed correct 64bit graphics and audio drivers, downloaded from Sony support sites.
I have a Sony Vaio FW21L. I want to upgrade the OS to Windows 7 RTM 64bit. Where can I get the Vaio software and drivers that came with the laptop but a supported by Windows 7 64bit?
I currently have a TX2XP which I bought 3 years ago. It is now no longer able to handle the workload i place on it and freezes up and crashes regularly.
I am looking to get a TT11WN to replace it. However, I notice, despite the large price tag, it only has a processor of 1.2 Ghz. Can any owners comment on performance? Will I be able to multitask and switch between many open browser windows and applications seamlessly?
I notice that the processor in my tx2xp is also 1.2 ghz (pentium M), although with a lower FSB speed.
I've upgraded my vaio z47gd to 64 bit win7. However my nvidia graphic driver messed up. It seems like screen divided to two sections with bad refresh rate. Anyone else having this problem?.
Also can anyone point me to the right place to download win7 64 bit drivers. I can't see them on the sony site.
I would like to let you know that the search is over. Sony had posted all the bios and drivers for Vaio Z Windows 7. You can go to here to get the bios:
Vaio Z Windows 7 Official driver available now!
Thanks for sh4rkt for the bios link. Everything is working now, including the brightness control in speed mode.
I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FS93S laptop. It is about 4-5 years old. I bought it in Thailand so I think it is a Sony Asian region model.
I installed Windows 7 on it today without any problems. It runs fine, but I am having some driver problems as expected. Even though there are a couple of red lights in the Device Manager, all my hardware is working fine except for the wireless network card. I don’t mind the errors in the Device Manager as long as everything works somehow. But I also can’t get the function keys working on the laptop, which I would like to have working too.
I called Sony in Thailand and they said the laptop is too old so Sony won’t be supporting it with new drivers for Windows 7.
Are there any Windows 7 drivers from other Vaio models which might be compatible with my laptop?
I bought HP pavilion dm1 4300ec with windows 8 preinstaled. I wiped up win 8 and install windows 7 proffesional 64 bit with SP1. After installation i manualy installed all drivers and everything works fine except my USB 3.0 port. Other two USBs (USB 2.0) on the right-hand side of computer work fine, but the on on left-hand side is just a useless hole. I have read a lot of similar threads and i installed a lot of drivers for different models but noone of them did work. Â Since there are no a pack of drivers for win 7 for my laptop (because it is created for win 8) i am hopeless, which driver i have to install to get my USB 3.0 work. I really need that port and i really dont want to use windows 8.
I running a z690 with win7, and my blu ray drive isn't visibile, don't have the correct driver for the Mata bd-mlt uj232as, and the z590 driver from sony's site won't install because its not a z5-series. Any advice? or anyone have the driver from there Vista64bit?
If anyone is curious, Windows7 is really smooth and quick compared to the Vista64bit, and only running 60 processes after everything got installed.
i just reinstalled winxp sp3 on a sony s3xp, i don't have the vaio installation cd but i did a clean reinstall of windows xp and installed essential drivers but it was quite slow, eg seconds to load a directory, or long pauses during web browsing
now i've installed all the original drivers and utilities and am running without power saving but it's still sluggish, eg the mouse pointer jumps about the screen rather than moves continuously when the cpu is under any load at all
I Have purchased a Dell Inspiron 15 3537. I installed windows 7 64 bit. I cant find the drivers for the wifi n/w card.I tried installing the windows 8 wifi driver for this model but its not working.
Just rebuilt new HP 355 G2 to Win 7 64 bit. The ONLY driver I can not locate or get to work is the PCI Encryption/Decryption Controller. I installed all latest drivers for this model/OS from both HP and AMD sites still no luck. AMD autodetect utility and Catalyst software installed all other drivers successfully except this one and when completes says all drivers, including chipset, are installed successfully and current.

I just tried connecting my ps3 controllers to my laptop and I realized its not detecting my bluetooth adapter. I am on a probook 470 g1 with a realtek 8188 ee wifi card, is the bluetooth adapter built into it ? Â I have tried ALL drivers on the support page, realtek bluetooth driver for win 8.1 says that don't have a realtek bluetooth adapter. Â Does my probook 470G1 even have bluetooth? or is this a windows 8.1 driver issue ....
I had this problem with my hp pavilion dv6-6b54er entertainment notebook pc. I got the new windows 8.1 64-bit and i lost all my drivers i restored most of them except for the biometric device driver. My bsi sensor wont even lit or flash
When u get to the device manager there is an unknown driver instead, also i cant the biometric devices is missing from the control panel.
While trying to install Intel Rapid Storage Technology(IRST) Driver on my Lenovo G560 Windows 7 64bit OS it is not able to install and gives me some error regarding hardware not match or etc. error then i came to know that to install AHCI driver i have to change in BIOS Sata controller mode from 'Compatible' to 'AHCI' i tried so and then restart the system but it gives BLUE SCREEN error while windows startup logo and restart again, any solution to use Rapid Storage Technology on G560 and actually this driver was installed when i purchased the new laptop but after certain format and fresh windows installation its no more able to install, how to install it back..........
I've purchased a HP Pavilion 15-n011tu Notebook. I'm unable to install display driver for WIndows 8 (64bit). I've tried all 3 drivers given on HP site.
I have followed the topic "Sony SZ750 Win7 64bit clean install (should help on other SZ's)", and everybody has problem of getting camera work (with cold boot).
I have found out since I have used driver from http://www.ralphg.com/public my camera works fine (I completely shut down my computer and boot it again)
The thing is that this driver is not working with Sony Camera Utility, but it works with other program that involve camera (like I use Yahoo Messenger to start my camera, and it works very well).
I have done a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit informed by Firestone and others on this Forum. Everything works well - in fact arguably better in terms of functionality of Stamina/Speed switch - with one exception.
I have not been able to install the WWAN successfully. I have tried a number of times to uninstall and reinstall the drivers from links on this site and also even tried the Sony EU support site Windows 7 drivers with no luck. I have tried asking windows to search for the best driver with no luck. Globetrotter Connect has installed correctly, as far as I can see, but just doesn't pick up the WWAN card.
I'm trying to update my Sony VAIO VGN-CR510D/W graphic's driver (GM965). Intel's site has the newest one 7.15.10.1666 and mine is currently at 7.14.10.1295. I go to "Update Driver" in my Device Manager but It does not find a new one. I downloaded the new one manually but it won't let me install it (Not supported). I am running Vista Home Premium 32bit.
When Installing the Sony Drivers, it is NECESSARY to install 01, 02, and 03, in that order (and it may be necessary to run 01 as an administrator). Otherwise you may not have functioning FN keys and other anomalies.
