if anybody has gotten to run Windows 2000 somehow on a Vaio with an Intel ich9 SATA controller? Sony/Intel provide a driver that works fine with XP, but it does NOT work with Win2000. I really want to install Windows 2000 on my new Vaio.
I clean installed the Windows 7. However, I am unable to install the Intel chipset driver. I try to install the one download from the Sony website and the one download from Intel website, but there is a error message come up to say I have a imcompatible machine (something like that). Because I can't install the newer Intel chipset driver, the SM Bus Controller is not installed properly too. It has a ! mark besides it.
Windows Update showed a new update to the graphics driver for the 965 which applies to my SZ and whatever other model uses the 965. It seems to have fixed the "glitchy" aero border.
I am trying to install windows xp sp3 on a hp laptop 2000-2c17cl in legacy mode. Unfortunately xp will not detect the hard drive without the correct SATA drivers without blue screening ( even in legacy boot specified in the bios. ) I cannot find the corect drivers for this laptops hard drive
I've recently purchased a new hard drive and continuously recieve an error message when I try to install the software for it. Here is the exact issue I'm having: [URL] .......
I've confirmed the BIOS is locked in AHCI on my laptop model, so the solution is to update the SATA storage driver to the latest native Microsoft driver, but I don't know how to do that. The only driver available on my system is "Intel(R) ICH8M-E/ICH9M-E SATA RAID Controller"
Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit (Fresh Install)
Laptop Model: HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC
Hard Drive: Western Digital Black2 Dual Drive
Error: Unsupported/Incompatible SATA storage driver
Driver to Update: Intel(R) ICH8M-E/ICH9M-E SATA RAID Controller
I am facing problem relating to PCI Device. Whenever i click on this driver in device manager i get a message that it is not installed. On updation too i am getting this message that windows could not find driver software for this device.

I'm trying to figure out which driver I need to install for a network adapter on a HP 2000-219DX Notebook. I saw the list of drivers for it, and got the Ralink 802.11 b/g/n WiFi Adapter driver file from another PC. I'm not sure how to install this or if I should use another driver altogether. What do I do?
Although, I just can't find a internet driver for my laptop model. I know there is one. I've seen HP experts provide drivers to other people on the forum while they downgraded as well just like me.
In device manager, shows this when I right click and go to details and hardware Ids
Driver for windows 8.1 ( Just need one for windows 7)
I acquired last week the above mentioned laptop for my wife. The use for it is basically browsing, shopping, skyping, messaging, searching over the net, no gaming.
To make it short and not to bother you with long stories: My brother gave me an original Ultimate Vista 64 with its own license and I'm planning to install it on this new laptop delivered with Premium 32 bits to fully use the 4 Gig Ram.
I've collected all the necessary drivers to proceed, but one, only one driver is giving me a major headache, the driver for the chipset Intel Cantiga PM45...I simply can't find it, neither on Intel's site...as if it never has existed.
I know a few people have installed Win7 on their Lattitudes and Precisions ...
I decided to try out a clean install but as I work through the driver installs I get stuck at the chipset drivers which refuse to install, saying "This operating system is not supported .....
Using Dell Clent System Update to update a Latitude E6530. All drivers are updated now except the Intel Chipset Driver. On Windows 7 64 bit. Framework version of the driver is 3.0.921.
The error message that it gives is Update package digital signature is invalid - status: Failed Error Code 7
Not sure how to remedy this.
I am trying to install this driver update hoping it will remedy a black screen with cursor when logging in. It takes about a minute to login and then the desktop finally appears. Was taking quite a bit longer to log in before I updated the other drivers and then removed McAfee to see if it was eating up system resources.
Has anyone installed a SSD drive in this model with success? If so, does the BIOS need to be upgraded? I have a Vertex 120 SSD drive I'm not using and am thinking about putting it in the Sony and installing Win 7/32 bit.
I would like for all the current functions to work such as the camera and video card. Would this be a big issue or should I just reload the original OS(XP).
I'm in the process of creating an XP Pro operating system install for my new Inspiron 1545, on a new SATA hard drive (taking out the original SATA hard drive from Dell with Vista preinstalled to use as separate bootup opsys which I have to reinstall to zap all the bloatware later).
Things were going really really well (I thought) with setting up my new drive with XP and I got past the problem that bites most folks (SATA hard drive not being recognized by XP install), by switching the drive in BIOS to ATA mode b4 doing the install.
I got XP completely installed & activated AOK, with only a few minor wrinkles which I was able to figure out. Applied a few simple quick tweaks to XP to make it easier for me to use (disabling autoplay, killing the search dog, setting folder views, removing stuff I don't use like Windows messenger, MSN, etc).
Then I went to install all of the necessary Dell drivers from the website for the 1545 for (in order) Intel GM45 Chipset, Video, Ethernet, Dell Quickset, Wireless, Sound, Card reader, and Alps touchpad.
I had figured that stuff out already and had all the drivers copied over to the new PC ready to go .....
I've been having trouble updating my graphics driver. I have a HP Pavillion dv4t 1600 CTO laptop. My operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. My driver device is a Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family, and driver version is 8.15.10.1883 from 8/27/2009. I've been trying to install the lastest from Intel which is 15.17.19.64.2869. However, when attempting to update drivers I receive an error message:
"The driver being installed is not vaildated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the cmputer manufacturer. Set up will exit."
This leads me to the HP website were I attempt to find a suitable update. However, when using the HP updater or manual search, I end with the same type of driver for graphics, sound, and chipset. My problem is: I don't know which one needs to be updated.
I play World of Warcraft, and I receive the message "Your driver device is out of date". That could mean any of them, so while using the Intel Driver Update Utility, none of my drivers appeared. And every time I try to update via HP, it appears that nothing has changed. I'll try to provide as much detail as possible and hope to hear back soon about my problem. Attached below as well are screenshots from the dxdiag window.

I have looked everywhere and even found some SATA drivers that worked for other Acer SATA laptops, but not the 3050. I looked at other posts for the 3050 on this forum which helped me get other drivers, but not the SATA drivers.
users who had bought a machine with the new Core i7 chips along with the Intel P55 Express chipset were having issues with syncing their iPhones/iPods.
I have a Pavillion 15t b1000 with an intel 13chipset and need to downgrade it from Windows 8 to 7 is there a set of directions for this computer to downgrade
Okay so my system blue screened and so I am attempting to reinstall windoes 7 tho In bios it appears there is no HDD only my small 32 gig sdd appears. When I try to search for the device driver ill also mention that it says drive C is not formatted, Anyways, how do I install device driver to reformat harddrive so that I may reinstall windows7? Have I gotten some kind of virus? I use avast and did not notice any trouble until blue screen.
I researched I need the Intel SATA AHCI Driver for performing a clean Windows 7 installation
I tried:
1. Mobile Express Chipset SAAT AHCI controler drivers from the (a) Intel websites (b) Lenovo website and (c) extracting drivers from running system 2. tried supplying drivers on DVD/CD and USB 3. tried to integrate drivers into Windows 7 Installation using RT7Lite 4. did bios update 5. switched from AHCO to compatible mode
In any case it finds the driver as the correct one (when I click hide drivers that are not compatible, the one remains). But always displays no driver found and doesn't continue setup.
This seems to be a bug!!! 1. Is there a way to fix this and perform a clean Windows 7 installation without recovery? 2. Am I trying the wrong driver, but have to install a driver for a different device first???
I am about to replace the HDD with an SDD and there can not use recovery!
My hard drive was formatted; everything, recovery and all. I went to install Win 8 back on it from a CD I have, it go's all the way thru the steps up to where you you pick a Drive to install on, and a messege appears saying; No Hard Drive detected- install Mass Storage Driver for detection of Hard Drive. What I need to install, and where to get it. It will not install an Operating system for the life of me.
