I did some searching and couldn't find the cause for my 4720Z's wifi card just disappearing about twice a day!
I'm still running Vista Premium but I have something deleting the Wifi adapter from Device Hardware list about, at least once per day, and not at the same time each day.
I don't know if billy is just throwing a tantrum or which software / hardware (could be Acer installed stuff for either or both!) As mr gates doesn't like other people installing anything but what he sales!
So I start out in Safe Mode, and my audio doesn't work, but my wifi card can be used and doesn't go POOF!
I flip a coin on what I'm going to live without, audio or wifi!
The 4720Z is 3mos old and has been doing the magic trick with the wifi card ever since the 2nd or 3 wk, and I don't know how to find the conflict?
i have this laptop, great laptop, works great; however, the sd card reader has not worked in ages. I have tried upgrading to new drivers, reloading old drivers, etc etc....The driver company is ricoh.
I'm having trouble with my wifi connection on my SXPS 16 with the Intel Wifi 5300 card.
I will be downloading something then at random times it looses connectivity and i will have to turn off my wifi and turn it back on then it works for a couple minutes and stops working once again.
On my VN7-571G-599B, i have a problem with the wifi. Â With Nvidia card (GTX 850M): Â In 1920*1080, when i launch a game in full screen, my wifi disconnect (on all games). In 1600*900, when i launch a game in full screen, my wifi still connects but crash 2-3 minutes after. When i launch a game in windowed mode, my wifi still connect. Â With Intel card: Â No problem ! Â My drivers are up to date (Nvidia and Atheros Wifi). Avast and Windows firewall are disable for the test. Â The wifi card is Atheros AR5BWB222.
I brought a new mini wifi card for my laptop so i could get 5gh wifi due to an upgrade in my broadband.  I did some research and found that supposidly the Intel Centrion Advanced 6205 card is compatible with my laptop.  I downloaded the most recent drivers and install the card.  Device manager see's it and states drivers are installed but has error code 10 -' device cannot start.  I check the registry which did not seem to have the problems in as reported by other forums (something about upper and lower filters) I when into bios setup and restored defaults.  Tried down-grading the driver to an older version but still the same problem. I even took it out and re-installed the card.  Windows 7 home is my OS
My Dell 1505 wireless N card is a constant headache, If I hide my ssid the card detects and connects to my router but I can never access the internet. It may work sometimes but most of the time my SSID has to be on.
I have tested this with two different routers and the results were the same, vista shows local access only . I have tried using drivers from laptopvideo2go and reimaging the computer, I am now fed up and want to get a new wifi car
i got an acer Aspire 4720z. it came w/ vista in english.. i follow all the rules to install XP.. i do it right. but on the Device Manager still are some unknow device that i don't know how to solve that.
i install xp service pack 3. (with nLite helps)
also the wifi dosen't work (i think the device is not installed)
I just bought a Acer 4720z and I connected it to my wireless router the problem I am having is that the computer keeps disconnecting from internet every few mins and then reconnect. I called acer and they are useless. The computer has Vista on it and my wireless router is a actiontec from verizon.
if it's possible to upgrade my laptop's graphics, because I'm attempting to play a few games on it, and it runs them sooo slow. I don't think the Processor or RAM are an issue, but surely the GFX card is. Another thought I had was maybe upgrading my RAM to 2 GB, which could possibly give it a boost because I think my vid card draws some memory from the system?
Did a restore with factory restore disks it doesn't install broadcom BCM94312mcg wireless drivers. when i try to install I get "windows found drivers but encountered an error code 10 have tried everything I know
I Formatted my laptop and installed windows XP (was a successful install) But my problem is....none of my hardware is installed. The WNet doesn't work, Vid Card isn't installed, nor is the Sound Card, and any other hardware that I'm forgetting that also needs to be installed (nothing is installed). I don't have the discs to install them. Can I get the installs for all these online somewhere and burn them to a disc and install on laptop?
Is there anyway to boost the Video memory in Bios on the Aspire 4720Z?
My laptop says it has 384 MB available...But It's only using 10 MB. Is there anyway to increase this to the max, so it will take away from my system memory, which is 2 GB?

I have an Acer Aspire 4720z notebook and decided to hook it up to my tv. So I got my 7-pin to composite adapter which came with my video card for my desktop and plugged it in to give it a shot to see if it would work and no go, it just won't detect being connected to the tv. I read the manual and searched online to see if this perticular notebook allowed for s-video to composite or if Acer made one for it themselves, again no go. So I was wondering if anyone has this notebook, or the 4710 or 4720 which I think are identical hardware wise, are able to connect one to it and actually get it working?

I have an Acer Aspire 4720Z. Since long I had been using XP. Recently it was formatted and Windows 7 was installed. But after this upgradation, the WLAN is not working. Have banged my head with drivers and all. Â Device manager is showing Microsoft Virtual Wi-Fi miniport adapter (although with XP it simply showed by the name of WLAN adapter as far as I remember). And checking it's properties it says that the device is working properly. When Intel Wi-Fi Technology is tried to get started, it says that 'A supported intel wireless network adapter not found'.
Looking for a Boot Disk or Start up disk for an Aspire 4720Z or a place to download one. She has been doing finals etc for the past week without it at college.
I was wondering what wifi card is in the MBP. I am speaking of the newest MBPs which have the Nvidia cards and the Intel CPU (late '08 and current '09 versions).
Also, do you think it is worth it to install a Linux OS on it? I think a dual boot of Mac OS and Linux would be interesting. But, does Linux work on it?

i'm just going thru Dell site to build my specs for laptop and I get to the WIRELESS CONNECTIVITY part ... which card should I choose? what's the difference between them? which is best .... here are the options:

So, I have just ordered the M1330, and it comes with the 1505. When I asked the dell rep about the 5300, he said it was not compatible with the M1330 due to the motherboard or something?
However, I've read that some people have made the switch, my questions are as follows:
How hard is it to change wifi cards for a noob? Will this void my warranty? What are specific gains? My brother has an M1330, the internet some times.
I had a good reason a few weeks ago to take out the option to control the wifi card for the switch on the side that turns on/off the bluetooth and wifi.

Over in the Wireless section I was told that my constant connection drops in Windows 7 are likely just due to the card (Intel 5100) and to replace it with something that isn't Intel. My question is, what is the best card out there to replace my current one that will support a Belkin N router AND fit in my computer? As I have almost no knowledge of Wireless cards I have no idea what the slot is even called that it fits into. Could someone point me in the right direction? Does anyone know about this card
I purchased my Studio 1555 on Dell Outlet with a Dell 1397 802.11b/g wifi card, and I want to upgrade this card to the Intel 5100 a/g/n Half-Mini Wifi Card.
If I purchase this Intel 5100 off of AVADirect (link below), will it be compatible?
