I got a really weird problem!
I have replaced my broadcom wifi mini PCI-e card with an intel wifi link 5100...
But when installing it, it gives me a "code 10" error: the device can't start.
the lenovo laptop from where I got the intel card is Ideapad Y430.
My laptop is a dell inspiron 9400/E1705.
the broadcom wifi card work perfectly in the lenovo ideapad...
Looks like atheros is highly recommended but I'm not sure if I have to be concerned about compatibility (meaning if drivers will be an issue)

I was wondering if someone could give me a link to updated drivers/firmware for the DVD drive and the Wifi Card. I already updated the Intel Chipset from the Intel website.
Also, what is the best kind of RAM it will accept? I was thinking two 1GB sticks of pc2-5300, but I don't know if it'll accept that much? It is Dual channel memory, but it's only using one channel right now obviously. Any help is appreciated, as I need to get her computer in working order by Friday.
I bought a U410 knowing it didn't have bluetooth, at the time I thought I wouldn't need it. But now I would like to have it. Is it possible to upgrade the Centrino Wireless-N 2200 card, to a card that includes bluetooth?
View 5 Replies View RelatedTrying to upgrade my wifi card. The machine originally came with Centrino 2200 card. I wanted to upgrade to Centrino 6205. I thought that all I had to do was ensure that I get a card that has a known/authorized FRU, as per the X230 FRU List. So I picked a card with FRU 60Y3253, but upon installing it, I get the all familiar "1802: Unauthorized Network Card" error. Why? What else am I missing?

I have no restrictions "white list" because I use an unofficial bios. I'd like to know if the antenna is compatible with the 5Ghz. If not, is it be possible to change it with another model?
For some reason after some of use the Laptop, the wifi network card gets disabled and not useable. Trying to enable it doesn't work.
I tried to update drivers, and check all webs on this issue but with no solution. Bios updated, Bluetooth works fine.
I use windows 8.1 64 bit. I installed power manager. No success ....
I'm having trouble with my wifi connection on my SXPS 16 with the Intel Wifi 5300 card.
I will be downloading something then at random times it looses connectivity and i will have to turn off my wifi and turn it back on then it works for a couple minutes and stops working once again.
I own an Inspiron N5110, and dunno why, but the wireless stops working after a while. I had this problem in both windows 7 and ubuntu, and why this problem occurs.Â
And when it stops, it really means STOP, cause it stops detecting networks, when usually there are like a dozen of these around, and no matter what i do, how many times i disable and re enable it, it never seems to work, until i restart my laptop.
In ubuntu, this problem occurs whenever i download large files, and in windows 7, whenever id start any virtual machine.
I am trying to reinstall my Dell Inspiron N 5110 (after my wireless connection was disabled (I dont know how) and my efforts to reenable the wireless connection were useless). While I tried to install the drivers, the drivers suitable, as identified by dell software, was for ethernet and none of the wireless/bluetooth drivers where selected as suitable. When I go to the device manager I couldnt see any wireless adapters that need drivers.
View 6 Replies View RelatedAfter some virus problems I set up my system from the scratch, formatting the hard drive and reinstalling Windows. I also downloaded the Lenovo System Updater, installed all updates and downloaded the ThinkVantage Solution Center. Now, the PC works again BUT the WiFi adapter does not work. It seems to be non-existent, if I press F9 it says I am suppossed to press the hardware switch. I have a ThinkPad Edge 15, it does not have such a switch at all.

In the hardware manager i find one network device without driver, so I suppose this is it. However, no driver seems to work. I downloaded the WiFi dirver(s) from the Lenovo website and installed them, nothing happens. What can I do?

I am pretty certain that the hardware works, before I set uo the system WiFi was not at all a problem.
I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 3520 the wifi was working fine, and then it all of a sudden stopped. I already went and bought a new router, and tried using my Ethernet cable. The new router hasn't changed it but i can connect to my LAN network with the Ethernet cable. I am not satisfied with the LAN network because I bought a laptop so i could use it all of the house. I will not purchase anything else because i already bought an 85 dollar Belkin router.

The problem is, since day 1,every few minutes the internet stops working. It shows as connected, the router is working, other connected devices run as intended and everything's fine. But internet doesn't work on my laptop. It says "Could not connect to the network". I have tried doing the "keep wifi on during sleep" etc. but nothing works. It just stops working after a while even though I am using the laptop, it just suddenly stops. It even shows as connected, and packets are being received but internet or any application over the internet will not work untill I disconnect and reconnect.Â
My Dell 1505 wireless N card is a constant headache, If I hide my ssid the card detects and connects to my router but I can never access the internet. It may work sometimes but most of the time my SSID has to be on.
I have tested this with two different routers and the results were the same, vista shows local access only

I have tried using drivers from laptopvideo2go and reimaging the computer, I am now fed up and want to get a new wifi car
I've updated my Intel Wireless LAN Driver to 17.0.2.5 and since then every time I close the lid (I'm connected through a OneLink docking station) the wifi stop functioning normal (connects to network but shows "Limited" and practically not functioning). If I open back the lid everything goes back to normal, either directly on the laptop or while still working through the docking station.

I'm using a Yoga S1....
It can detect and "connect" to my wifi, however the moment i try to enter a webpage, it disconnects and doesn't work. So basically, the wifi doesn't work. I have checked the drivers and i'm 99% sure they're updated.
View 8 Replies View RelatedThe issue was in regards to WiFi not working properly on my Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga S1. After a restart my computer's internet (with WiFi on) would work for a few minutes then it would stop. Long story short, I tried various things, and even uninstalled Norton and other software which I thought may have been a culprit but still the same issue. I also used a USB to Ethernet port (since there is no built in Ethernet port in the ThinkPad Yoga) and connected my computer with a cable and disabled the WiFi to see if it was the wireless hardware not working. Unfortunately still the same issue.

Finally I noticed in the Windows Task Manager a process called "Discover.exe". It turned out this was using some noticeable amount of CPU and wondered what this was doing as I hadn't seen that before. I found out that this was a piece of software bundled in with my computer called Lenovo EMC Storage Connector. I'm not sure why it was running but I ended this process.

Suddenly my internet was working again! This time no problems. I uninstalled this software utility to make sure this doesn't cause this issue again.
Dell have been working on a fix for several weeks/months for the issue where the Nvidia graphics card either vanishes completely or randomly disappears requiring a reboot to get it recognized by the system. URL....
According to @dellcares the Product Team are actively working on a permanent solution - my direct conversations with @dellcares on twitter are now over two weeks long. There is still no guaranteed ETA on a remedy. The list of people with this faulty laptop seems to be growing daily - probably because Dell are still selling it, knowing it has a major problem.if you are the owner of this laptop or a similar laptop which is suffering with a vanishing Nvidia GT650M.
I bought a Lenovo G510 notebook, I installed Win7 PRO 64bit. Everything is working fine except the video card, wich is AMD Radeon R5 M230. In the control panel/device manager: the video card not working code 43.installed a lot of drivers, but nothing work. I tried to install the intel video driver but its not working either, during the installation I get a message: my computer not have the minimum configuration to install this driver. ???

AMD Radeom R5 M230 VGA
I have a 3444-CUU that I really love. When I first got it I realised the wireless adapter would just randomly stop working. I updated every possible driver and I'm still having the same issues. All I can do is reset the adapter to get it kicking again. I'm not sure if the wifi care is soldered or if it could be removed or replaced but I'm really leaning towards it being a hardware issue.

It'll either stop working could turkey, won't detect any wireless networks or it'll stop working and I can still view other wireless networks but I cannot connect to them. Resetting the adapter is the only option. As I'm writing this right now the wireless has gone out again. So I have to reset the adapter for 5-10 more minutes of internet just so that I can post this.
I've a new Thinkpad W540 with Windows 7 64bit. I can't see the Card Reader in the device list. When I insert a SD Card, nothing happens. All I/Os are enabled in the Bios. What can I do?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I installed Windows 8 (Clean install, no upgrades) on the machine and since then the card reader isnt working. I downloaded and installed the drivers from Lenovo Website and after failing from Driver Genius and then from ThinkVantage System Update 5.03. Still doesn't work, I install them, but after I reboot it is installed but the card reader doesn't work (It was working before on Windows 7 on the same day I installed W8). I updated to 8.1 and the problem continues.

So, I have just ordered the M1330, and it comes with the 1505. When I asked the dell rep about the 5300, he said it was not compatible with the M1330 due to the motherboard or something?

I had a good reason a few weeks ago to take out the option to control the wifi card for the switch on the side that turns on/off the bluetooth and wifi.
Now that I want to have it back, I don't know where to go in the settings
Over in the Wireless section I was told that my constant connection drops in Windows 7 are likely just due to the card (Intel 5100) and to replace it with something that isn't Intel. My question is, what is the best card out there to replace my current one that will support a Belkin N router AND fit in my computer? As I have almost no knowledge of Wireless cards I have no idea what the slot is even called that it fits into. Could someone point me in the right direction? Does anyone know about this card

I was wondering what wifi card is in the MBP. I am speaking of the newest MBPs which have the Nvidia cards and the Intel CPU (late '08 and current '09 versions).
Also, do you think it is worth it to install a Linux OS on it? I think a dual boot of Mac OS and Linux would be interesting. But, does Linux work on it?

I have ordered E6400 but I have choosen Intel 5100 wifi card with two antenna port. I heard that this model isn't very good so I'm thinking about the upgrade to Intel 5300 with 3 antenna ports. I have a question about the antenna cables. How many cables are there near the wifi card in latitude with 5100? two or three? If there are only 2 cables, so the upgrade brings me no advantage.

I'm still running Vista Premium but I have something deleting the Wifi adapter from Device Hardware list about, at least once per day, and not at the same time each day.
