Dec 4, 2008Where can i activate the bluetooth on my 6930!
It has the light on the top right, unlit. Cannot find anything to do with bluetooth in control panel and when i google it i get crap.

Dec 24, 2008I've just purchased an Acer Aspire 6930. It came with an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD and a HDMI out port. The weird thing is that if I can't play HD-DVDs or BlueRay discs, then what's the point of having it? Can anyone tell me why they setup that way?

Jan 1, 2009My Aspire 6930 has 320GB by using two hard drives. 142GB on drive C, 138BG on drive D, and 40GB as reserved. Are there any good by using two drives? It looks kind a stupid to me because drive D is like a giant folder in drive C. Do anyone owns the same model with one or two drives?

Dec 10, 2008i am considering an upgrade of my cpu but am not sure wich cpu to buy. Either T9600 or P9600. I know P9600 works cooler and consumes less power, but i dont actualy know how much lower it's performance is. (got my information here and some on intel's website)
My current config is:
Intel Core2Duo P7350 2.0ghz
Geforce 9600M GS 512mb DDR2
3gigs ddr2 ram.
I'd like to increase the gaming performance mostly, so is the cpu upgrade worth it considering the cost?

Dec 14, 2008I've recently downgraded an Aspire 6930 from Vista to XP and am having difficulty getting the computer to recognize that it has a modem! If I can just get the ethernet/modem/WiFi up and working I'd be set. Does anyone have any idea where I can find the drivers I need to get this thing up and working?

Mar 24, 2010Up until now, the speakers have been working fine, especially the 5.1 surround sound.
Though, after reinstalling the Realtek HD Audio driver for my 6930, the 5.1 surround sound doesn't seem to be working as well as before. Although I can still select 5.1 sound, there appears to be little difference in the audio, as now it sounds quite treble-like (no bass at all). I've reinstalled the audio driver several times, with the same result every time.

Mar 17, 2009I just got this latop and installation of Vista was done at first bootup. The thing is, it installs a tone of junk apps too!
I removed allot of it but now it doesn't always bootup. I'll get a black screen only and I have to reboot again. I don't think I deleted any system files but there may be some conflict or something at bootup (sometimes).
Is there a way to reinstall just Vista without all that junk?

Mar 21, 2009At bootup I will get a black screen after the windows loading bar (at the bottom). It will stay a black screen as long as I reboot. I need to press the power button pressed down until it reboots then I do a Regular Windows Start. I've done the safe start so it can look for disk errors too. But I still get this black screen about 60% of every boot times.
What is the problem? Vista? or other?

Processor intel core 2 duo t6400 2ghz 2mb cash Ram 4gb ddr2.
Hard disk 1000gb ( 2 hard each one 500gb) and preloaded vista home premium and nividia 9600m gt 1gb ddr2.
And i notice that my laptop take too long boot time in compare with my friend laptop Dell inspiron 1525 with 1.6 pantium dual core processor and 2gb ddr2 ram and 160 gb hard disk and windows vista ultimate..so is there something wrong with my laptop and how can i speed up boot time and do u think that i can play games like crysis and call of duty 4 and GTA 4 on it?

Apr 4, 2010This model has the Intel 4500MHD and 1366*768 screen. My laptop has a cracked screen. Will a 1920*1080 replacement screen work? I'm stuck with the Intel 4500MHD, right? Even at 1366*768, it has problems playing downloaded HD movies so I know it will be a dog at 1920*1080, but I mostly use the laptop for real work.

Oct 13, 2014I have an Aspire 6930 that suddenly died and will not power on. The LED power button was dark and unresponsive. I performed a power reset and the blue light on the power button came back on until I pressed the button to try to restart the laptop. When I did that, the blue LED immediately went dark and stayed that way until I did another power reset. It never gets to the point of anything powering on. Is it a problem with the battery or it the laptop toast?
This is a real bummer since I just replaced the hard drive a few weeks ago and replaced Windows Vista with Linux Mint (which btw is blazing fast compared to Vista).
HP Envy Dv7 7332ea :: SSD - Activating AHDI In BIOS?
Nov 14, 2013I have a HP Envy DV7 7332ea. I recently put a San Disk Extreme 2 120gb SSD as the primary drive and put the HDD in the secondary bay. I installed Win 8.1 clean and everything works fine. I then worked my through the various tweaks required in the OS for an SSD to maximise its utility such as moving page file to HDD, removing hibernation, switching of restore in control panel and the last one was to change registry settings to enable AHDI and select it in bios. However the Bios F2 for this Envy model has no option for IDE or AHDI. What does this mean and am i actually losing any capability form my SSD if AHDI is not enabled?

Jan 24, 2010Just wanted to share my upgrade experience with my Aspire 4736z. My model did not come with bluetooth installed from the factory and it only has 3 usb ports and I wanted to keep them as free as possible.
So I found a place that sells the bluetooth module and cable needed.
I installed the module and cable and everything works great. Installed the driver and now my bluetooth button works as it should.

May 4, 2009i have had my laptop for a few wks now and keep tryin to work out whether it is bluetooth or not. if i press the bluetooth button on my laptop i see the message no device. last night i read notes to do with another laptop and followed the link to the acer website and tried to download the bluetooth drivers for my pc. when i downloaded the utility to my laptop i get the following msg "no bluetooth device was connected. please makesure that your bluetooth device is plugged in properly in order to continue installation" does this mean i need to physically plug something into my laptop or is my laptop not bluetooth afterall. how can i find out.

May 10, 2009When logging into my laptop, i have been useing the finger print reader, and have been since bought laptop(nearly 4 weeks now). I don't remember setting password also, but have never needed it.
When switched laptop on this mroning, the little finger print scanner on top left hand corner of screen has gone.
I can now not get into laptop useing finger print reader. I don't have password(when press enter says enter password).
So now i can't get into laptop. I have no recovery disks.
