Acer Aspire 6930 :: Crashes - On Starting Up Show Lines On Screen / Freezes Or Just Fades Away
Jan 13, 2015
My acer aspire 6930 would crash and then have problems starting up sometimes the blue screen would show up and sometimes i would see lines on my screen and it freezes and also sometimes it just fades away. When i try to restart it the computer wont boot but all the lights are on.
So I just bought (came in yesterday) a brand new aspire v 15 nitro and now it often freezes and crashes/shuts down at boot-up. I turn it on i get the acer boot up screen and then it stops and after a minute or so and shuts down.
I have done some things to it: -partitioned the hdd (150/800 GB) -updated windows -checked for updates through acer care center (only one intel update) -installed: steam, origin (EA), firefox, openoffice, winrar, viper (plagiarism scanner wich i used on my previous pc) and a couple of games -uninstalled mcafee
I did not change any strange settings, like disabling apps from start-up except for steam.
I have an Acer aspire 6930G home theatre system. The screen has been cracked and needs to be replaced. Can anyone help with either instruction on how to remove the screen. Any help would be much appreciated.
I have got the top and sides of the front bevel off, but I cannot see how to get the bottom off and I do not want to damage it.
My Envy15-3000 notebook freezes while starting up. It only makes it to the Starting Windows screen then Microsoft icons stop moving. This has been going on since Tuesday (8/12). I ran checks and the memory and harddrive (quick and full) tests came back positive - i.e. no problems. I finally decided to reformat it yesterday (8/14). It gets all the way through the reformatting process until it wants to start the system for the "first time" (I imagine that this will be the last time it restarts in the recovery process) and still freezes on the Starting Windows screen. If I try to hard shut off and try any other boot up option I can think of (Safe Mode, etc.) it says Recovery Failed and asks me to retry, get details or Save Log. When I retry, it goes back to the freezing. As such, I am now in a seemingly endless loop of retrying the recover to get to the freezing start windows screen.
All I want to do is wipe the hard drive and reload everything. I'm not interested in recovering the old data as I have everything backed up. I got no error messages in my Run it, Memory, etc tests, so I am at a loss as to how to proceed.
I have the original drive recovery/windows 7 DVDs that came with the system.
I have an Acer Aspire 5360 with a screen problem. There is a thick stripe of the screen on the right hand side that does not show the desktop. I have changed the display settings resolution, reinstalled the intel chipset driver which I updated on the intel site. Reinstalled the OS XP, reset the bios to defaults etc.
I have had my Acer since new (about 2 years), not having any problems with it whatsoever, until recently, when it decided that upon displaying dark (black, grey etc) background it will intermittently flash white vertical lines across the screen.
Since it is out of warranty I have had it looked up by a repair company, which have said it was the screen connection cables that were at fault. That helped the problem for about a month, after which it reappered.
I have repeated the process then - the company replaced the connections, but this time it didn't help at all.
As this is happeneing randomly I am now asking, what could be the casue of such a fault,, if anyone has any idea. If there are any questions I will respond to the best of my knowledge.
I have made a short video that shows exactly what happens [url]
I needed to use Windows resore. after restart, the acer logo dont show and laptop stay in black screen and HDD LED blink in aqual time slice. Then after a few minutes acer logo shown and Windows starts.
This, happend few times but now acer logo dont show and it stay in black screen .
My Acer Aspire V3 laptop (with Windows 8) stopped working and I tried to reset it but it fails after around 50% operation. I tried both reset and refresh options both not working. I dont have a recovery disc. I created one in another laptop(Toshiba)running Windows 8. Now I want to boot from the recovery media but it is not doing it. I tried to press F2 key on the start to get the bios screen but it is not showing and showing the Automatic repair screen with Advanced options.
Today I was using my laptop (Acer Aspire 5742G) normally and then suddenly my screen freezes and turns off. The picture at that moment when the screen froze was covered with green horizontal lines and some small green squares and then the screen switched off while the laptop continued to operate normally.
I tried to restart my laptop, but the screen does not turn on, and looks like laptop is working normally because I can hear the windows login sound (led indicators for WIFI and read data from the HDD are working). I tried to connect the laptop and TV via an HDMI cable, but the TV does not get any picture.
I have an Acer Aspire 7740-5691. The boot screen freezes with pixel distortion at the top. I've tried all the restore discs. I found where some people referenced a similar problem with other computers and they were fixed by resetting the bios. I can't figure out how to do that. There's no place for that in the boot settings option and there's no visible coin battery to temporarily remove to reset.
I bought a Dell XPS 15 (L502X) laptop 2 weeks ago and have found a lot of trouble with it. It is an i7, 8gb ram with the nvidia 540m video card.
I have tried 3 different games, Left 4 Dead, League of Legends and Dragon Nest, and it crashes/freezes in all 3 games. You are able to run the game in high graphics however, it will crash in a shorter amount of time. If you put it on lowest quality, it still crashes, but it tends to take a longer time.
Things that I have tried.
- Old Drivers, New drivers, drivers from the dell site, drivers from nvidia, beta drivers
- driver sweeper
- changing the gpu to nvidia high performance instead of integrated graphics for the different games and programs
- changing the physx hardware to nvidia 540m
- set battery to high performance
- dell tech support, all they did was change integrated to nvidia high performance and change one setting in hopes of fixing the issue as well as using the system scan for issues, the report came back as passed and no issues.
And today while I was messing around with the settings, I have found a mediocre alternative to this problem. If you simply never use the nvidia GPU then there will never be a crash. You simply do everything with your integrated card. You will be able to run a game like League of Legends on Normal settings at best. However if you do this, it is as if you wasted all your money to get the nvidia 540m that simply does not work.
I've just purchased an Acer Aspire 6930. It came with an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD and a HDMI out port. The weird thing is that if I can't play HD-DVDs or BlueRay discs, then what's the point of having it? Can anyone tell me why they setup that way?
My Aspire 6930 has 320GB by using two hard drives. 142GB on drive C, 138BG on drive D, and 40GB as reserved. Are there any good by using two drives? It looks kind a stupid to me because drive D is like a giant folder in drive C. Do anyone owns the same model with one or two drives?
Currently I have 320GB and would like to upgrade to more hd space with additional hd, but just can't find info's how to upgrade and which hd do I need to buy.
Also got a question about expresscard 54? What it is for? What I need to buy to get that up and running? For what can I use this?
i am considering an upgrade of my cpu but am not sure wich cpu to buy. Either T9600 or P9600. I know P9600 works cooler and consumes less power, but i dont actualy know how much lower it's performance is. (got my information here and some on intel's website)
My current config is: Intel Core2Duo P7350 2.0ghz Geforce 9600M GS 512mb DDR2 3gigs ddr2 ram.
I'd like to increase the gaming performance mostly, so is the cpu upgrade worth it considering the cost?
I've recently downgraded an Aspire 6930 from Vista to XP and am having difficulty getting the computer to recognize that it has a modem! If I can just get the ethernet/modem/WiFi up and working I'd be set. Does anyone have any idea where I can find the drivers I need to get this thing up and working?
i recently purchased this aspire 6930, new, and i noticed the sound, compared to my cousins aspire, is very low....and i checked all the levels, and they're all max
Does anyone have any experience with using their laptop without the battery. I am primarily using the notebook at home and not mobile very much. Would there be any harm in not using the battery?
Up until now, the speakers have been working fine, especially the 5.1 surround sound.
Though, after reinstalling the Realtek HD Audio driver for my 6930, the 5.1 surround sound doesn't seem to be working as well as before. Although I can still select 5.1 sound, there appears to be little difference in the audio, as now it sounds quite treble-like (no bass at all). I've reinstalled the audio driver several times, with the same result every time.
I just got this latop and installation of Vista was done at first bootup. The thing is, it installs a tone of junk apps too!
I removed allot of it but now it doesn't always bootup. I'll get a black screen only and I have to reboot again. I don't think I deleted any system files but there may be some conflict or something at bootup (sometimes).
Is there a way to reinstall just Vista without all that junk?
I've just bought an Acer Aspire 6930 laptop and I want to re-tweak the whole system again like installing new windows etc etc...so should I care about the drivers? I mean sound driver will be found automaticly and I can download display driver but what about the other drivers like net, webcam, etc etc? where can I find those?
I have some problems with a new Dell laptop (bought a few weeks ago). The model is Dell 15.6'' Inspiron 3542. I've searched on google and on other forums but i didn't found something useful for my problem.
The problem is that when i turn on the laptop, running only on battery, after starting the windows, it freezes. If i turn on the laptop, with the AC adaptor plugged in, it works perfectly. But if i remove the AC adaptor, the laptop freezes after a while. If i turn off the laptop without the AC adaptor plugged in, the screen goes black but the laptop dosen't shut down completly, it freezes. And every time it freezes, the only way to shut down the laptop is to press for 5 sec the start button. I can use the laptop on battery mode, only on "Safe Mode" option of Windows.
I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits, and i installed all the drivers from Dell support site.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 and have had this laptop for 3 or more years. Last night I shut off my laptop normally but today, upon booting, the screen just turns black and nothing else. When starting up, the Dell logo still loads and the screen still shows "safe mode or start up regularly."
Upon choosing either option, the screen loads for awhile then fades into black. Nothing else happens after.I would atleast like to know how to save my files within the laptop. [Atleast to start it up once more to save all the files to a USB and not lose them forever..]
on my installation of an internal bluetooth adapter (I bought off of ebay) in my Aspire 6930? What exactly do I have to remove to get to where I install it? Where do I install it?
