This model has the Intel 4500MHD and 1366*768 screen. My laptop has a cracked screen. Will a 1920*1080 replacement screen work? I'm stuck with the Intel 4500MHD, right? Even at 1366*768, it has problems playing downloaded HD movies so I know it will be a dog at 1920*1080, but I mostly use the laptop for real work.

It looks kind a stupid to me because drive D is like a giant folder in drive C. Do anyone owns the same model with one or two drives?

i am considering an upgrade of my cpu but am not sure wich cpu to buy. Either T9600 or P9600. I know P9600 works cooler and consumes less power, but i dont actualy know how much lower it's performance is. (got my information here and some on intel's website)

Geforce 9600M GS 512mb DDR2
3gigs ddr2 ram.
I'd like to increase the gaming performance mostly, so is the cpu upgrade worth it considering the cost?
I've recently downgraded an Aspire 6930 from Vista to XP and am having difficulty getting the computer to recognize that it has a modem! If I can just get the ethernet/modem/WiFi up and working I'd be set. Does anyone have any idea where I can find the drivers I need to get this thing up and working?

View 7 Replies View RelatedUp until now, the speakers have been working fine, especially the 5.1 surround sound.
Though, after reinstalling the Realtek HD Audio driver for my 6930, the 5.1 surround sound doesn't seem to be working as well as before. Although I can still select 5.1 sound, there appears to be little difference in the audio, as now it sounds quite treble-like (no bass at all). I've reinstalled the audio driver several times, with the same result every time.
I just got this latop and installation of Vista was done at first bootup. The thing is, it installs a tone of junk apps too!
I removed allot of it but now it doesn't always bootup. I'll get a black screen only and I have to reboot again. I don't think I deleted any system files but there may be some conflict or something at bootup (sometimes).
Is there a way to reinstall just Vista without all that junk?
I've just bought an Acer Aspire 6930 laptop and I want to re-tweak the whole system again like installing new windows etc etc...so should I care about the drivers? View 10 Replies View RelatedAt bootup I will get a black screen after the windows loading bar (at the bottom). It will stay a black screen as long as I reboot. I need to press the power button pressed down until it reboots then I do a Regular Windows Start. I've done the safe start so it can look for disk errors too. But I still get this black screen about 60% of every boot times.
What is the problem? Vista? or other?

But when I plug in DVD or flash drive with windows, I don't get the boot option for it (in the f12 boot menu). If I put in the Win 8.1 DVD everything is fine. I can chose it from the menu.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an Aspire 6930 that suddenly died and will not power on. The LED power button was dark and unresponsive. I performed a power reset and the blue light on the power button came back on until I pressed the button to try to restart the laptop. When I did that, the blue LED immediately went dark and stayed that way until I did another power reset. It never gets to the point of anything powering on. Is it a problem with the battery or it the laptop toast?
This is a real bummer since I just replaced the hard drive a few weeks ago and replaced Windows Vista with Linux Mint (which btw is blazing fast compared to Vista).
I am having a problem when connecting my Aspire 5750G to my TV through my HDMI cable. Previously, I have always been able to go into Manage Audio Devices to choose the HDMI option but today that option has disappeared. Nothing has changed with my TV or my cable and all of my video and audio drivers are up to date.

When logging into my laptop, i have been useing the finger print reader, and have been since bought laptop(nearly 4 weeks now). I don't remember setting password also, but have never needed it.
When switched laptop on this mroning, the little finger print scanner on top left hand corner of screen has gone.
I can now not get into laptop useing finger print reader. I don't have password(when press enter says enter password).
So now i can't get into laptop. I have no recovery disks.
I have an Acer 6930 G. I had accidentally installed the French Vista (stupid me) and the store gave me the 2 backup DVDs I needed in order to install the English one (they had a previous customer with the same problem). So on the Acer screen, I pressed Alt-F10. I choose restore using user's backup and insert my DVD. Under Source Drive, I choose "Recovery1:Z" which is the name of my 1st recovery disk. Under Backup Point, I cannot choose anything and thus, I cannot hit the next button. I tried enabling F12, and putting USB CD ROM as first priority (didn't make sense but worth a try)
