Acer Aspire E1-571 :: No Audio Output Device Is Installed - Sound With Crackling Noises
Sep 1, 2014I recently received this acer laptop as a gift. Right from the first time I started it I noticed issues with the sound. With any audio that played there were crackling noises.The crackling got worse and worse so I Decided to restart the laptop and then the sound stopped working altogether.I tried reinstalling the Realtek HD audio drivers that came with the laptop but that didn't work and I still got a "No Audio Output Device is Installed" message in the bottom corner.
I tried reinstalling the drivers AGAIN, and the sound worked. All seemed well until I woke up the next day with no sound yet again.I then tried downloading new drivers from the realtek website, even these drivers didn't work. The only solution to the problem seemed to be basically uninstalling and reinstalling the realtek drivers until they worked, and even then, the sound would still crackle horrendously.After getting fed up with this issue I tried to refresh windows, and even this didn't work.I have tried everything I can think of .....

SOUND DEVICE: Realtek High Definition Audio.
PROBLEM:
Six Months Ago, the Sound Device Stopped Working, I get the following message (No Audio Output Device is installed): It is as if NO audio device is installed on the motherboard.
Here's the catch:
Sometimes when I START my computer the Device Works, and Sometimes It doesn't. If I restart the computer like 20-30 consecutive times (IF I'M LUCKY) chances that in one of these restarts the device MAY Work. Sometimes i go weeks without Audio.
Here are *some* things I've Tried:
1) Format the System:
Different OSs I've tried: Windows XP Home/Pro, Vista, 7 and Linux.
The expirience the same problem with all these OSs. So It's not an OS thing............

Dec 28, 2009I'm using a Scandisk 8 gig flash drive for ready boost. When I boot the computer, it won't boot in to vista unless the flash drive is pulled out. I updated to bios 1.43.

Apr 26, 2010I have upgraded to Windows 7 x64 (a fair while ago) and rencently it has started to come up with "No sound device installed" over the speaker icon in the sys tray.
This happens about 50% of the time when the computer has started up.
It never has any issues once the sound is working.
When the sound is not working "Sound, Video and Game Controllers" in Device manager is missing and i cant find the "Reltek HD Audio" device any where else in device manager.
It's just had a freash install of the OS and is still not working reliably.
It's got the latest Win 7 x64 drivers from RelTek

Jan 10, 2010My volume icon in the system try reads "No audio output device is installed." The audio device is not even recognized in the device manager (i.e. there is no yellow exclamation point or conflicted device to update a driver to). The system simply does not recognize the fact that a sound device exists.
I have tried many, many things:
Fresh install (as per the sticky-guide) of Windows Vista x64 Home PremiumFresh recovery from system recovery partitionTried all versions of the drivers from the HP support page (Realtek and Conexant) --- I believe I have conexant, though.Safe mode driver installsDriver installs on a driver signing rebootPutting the computer into hibernate, then resuming (odd, I know.. HP/Compaq :: Windows 7 No Audio Output Device Installed
Sep 27, 2009I have an HP DV6700 Laptop, and I recently installed Windows 7 Professional (64 bit) (The full version from MSDN academic alliance, not the release candidate). A few days afterward, I had an issue where my speaker icon has a red "x" over it, and when I hover over it it says "no audio output device is installed". The funny thing is that the speakers worked after windows update installed an update, then they stopped a few days later, and I cannot for the life of me get the speakers to work again!

May 14, 2014I have a dv7-7270ca notebook and since a restart due to windows 8 updates I now have a red x on the speaker icon. I installed the HP driver for this model but it has an error in device manager that says:
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)
I did run an audio test using the shut down-F2 and passed and could hear the sounds in the test.
Dell Latitude E6510 :: No Audio Device Installed - Windows 7 Pro 64bit
Dec 5, 2010New Latitude E6510 running Win7 Pro 64 bit. Periodically the laptop will boot with a red X through the speaker icon in the tray. Placing the mouse cursor over the speaker icon displays a message something like "No audio device is installed. A cold boot does not correct the problem. Shutting down, disconnecting the power supply, removing the battery then restarting has corrected the problem so far.
I assume this is a hardware problem.
Acer :: Aspire 6920 Dont Boot , Blank Screen
Mar 1, 2010After change BIOS set up, the Acer 6920 cannot boot.
After turn on the ACER screen apperar with F2 (Bios) and F12 (multiboot) appear. If you dont press anything a black screen appear and stay there. If you press F2 or F12 the acer screeen stay with the "Please wait" message on it and stay forever. If dont press anything the black screen appear and stay there. Never got the RAM counting screen.
Looks like a BIOS problems so got the last version, put alone in a USB , put on the note and reboot with try every F key and every Fn+F key but never got a result.

Acer :: HDD - With Aspire 5315
Nov 26, 2008I got a problem with my Acer Aspire 5315. The HDD is shown in the bios but won't show in Vista most of the time. The HDD is completely formated, including the Acer partition. So recovery is not an option.
The problem is strange because it is not consistent. Sometimes I am able to acces the drive and install Vista. But then the next day,when i try to boot again, i only see a cursor after the Acer boot screen.
I've tried running in IDE mode. I also tried replacing the HDD with a new one. I installed vista with the correct Intel driver.
I also tried running Linux live cd. It also sees the HDD drive correctly but when i try to acces it, the program freeses.
I'm affraid something is wrong with the I/O controller, or it is a loose cable.
If you think otherwise, please let me know. If not, i'd like to know how I can check the HDD cable.

Jan 31, 2009i upgraded my aspire 5315 from vista basic 2 vista premium. it took a lot of space on the hard drive so i tried 2 reset 2 factory settings by alt/f10 but nothing nothing happened . has the upgrade removed my recovery ghost partition. my hard drive has been partitioned c/and d/ drives the d drive has files in it. i tried alt/f10 again and there was loads of beebing i switched of the lap top asap rebooted now the acer logo does not come up anymore, boots 2 os screen.

Feb 26, 2009My aspire 5315 over heats occasionally and when i am using it it shuts down due to heating problems. I use "notebook hardware control 2.0" to monitor my hardware, and at time it shows my cpu temp to be 98 degree centigrade, at 99 it shuts down.
So what im asking that is this a normal issue, do you guys owning this model have this problem as well.
Today i used "Speedfan" to find out any info about my cpu fans, but it gave me no info, like no fans found.
Can some one install this app in their aspire 5315 and tell me if u get the same results.
edit: k even if someone else does not have this app or does not want to install it. i stilll find it a bit odd for a laptop to be with out a cpu fan, dont u.

Acer :: Flashing Aspire 5315
Mar 31, 2008I downloaded the new BIOS for the 5315 and went to run it tonight. It said I had 1.22 and the new BIOS was 1.25. I double clicked the BIOS program, said to close all other programs so I did, and then clicked START. It got about 1/10 of the way through and then said something about a read error (I can't remember exactly). It completely froze my system where I couldn't even force power off by holding the power button. Acer tech support said that flashing the BIOS isn't covered under warrantee and it's $100 to send it in and get them to replace the mobo. He also kept saying that there are ways to fix this myself, just to look online. I have tried force powering it off by unplugging the power and unplugging the battery. Now it won't turn on at all.

Apr 7, 2010I had vista installed on my laptop, Acer 6920, (first OS) and it was direct from factory so everything worked fine. I then installed ubuntu and everything still worked fine. I then deinstalled both of those to put on windows 7 RC where all my hardware was working perfectly (minus the fingerprint reader but i honestly couldnt care about that thing) so my computer eventually got pretty bogged down with crap to the point where boot was about 30 minutes. during this whole time my sound seemed to work, but near the end windows stopped finding any internal sound related hardware (the speakers and the mic). For other reasons i did a clean reformat (3 times) and reinstalled 7 Professional 32 bit and when i booted i downloaded all the drivers and everything seemed to install correctly, but when i rebooted the sound still didnt work nor did the mic. the exact error message windows is giving me is "No Audio Output Device found" however when i plug in a headset or a bluetooth adapter + headphones there is audio and it works perfectly. I really need sound to work as some programs crash if they dont detect a sound output and also for monitoring audio recordings.
I have tried installing all of Realtek's drivers. Literally all of them. None of them worked what so ever despite clean installs and deinstalls.
I now am running 64bit and ive almost given up on this problem. I bearly saved this computer and i dont wanna have to buy a new because of sucha stupid issue like this.

Under the hardware manager in windows there is no tree for sound devices. there was an unknown component which i put forceware on as i thought it was the sound device but no go.

Acer :: Aspire 5315 Wont Power On Via AC
Jan 2, 2010I've got an Acer Aspire 5315 and for some reason the laptop has stopped working correctly. The laptop will turn on and work fine when the battery is in, but when I try and charge the battery from the PSU plugged in nothing happens and the battery is starting to drain. I've taken the battery out and tried to power the laptop up but there seems to be no power getting to the laptop. The PSU is showing a green light on the block. I have also been advised that it could be the AC socket on the laptop, but I've now replaced this and its still not working.
I haven't got another PSU. Could there be any other reason why the laptop wont turn on?

Jan 18, 2009we switch from Comcast to Verizon Fios and now our laptops don't want to stay connected.
It takes like 2 hours for it to finally stay connected so we called Verizon and they said we have to change from the eNet management to windows.
Does anyone know how to change it?
Acer :: Aspire 5315 Recovery Failed
Mar 1, 2009Problem-- When you Turn on my acer 5315 laptop a blank black screen comes up after the acer logo appears. If you press any key a loud beep noice sounds.
Solutions I have Tried-- Well i started with using the preloaded restore to factory defults and I got an error message at about 99 percent. The error was- Restore Failed- Reason oxd0000001d - or close to that. I figured maybe the backup partiton was screwed up so I pulled out the old recovery cd's I purchased from acer. The same thing showed up. I then figured i should call acer. I called and they told me to use the acer post disk formatter. I tried that and it still did not help the problem. I have no where else to turn so thougt maybe you guys could help.

Acer :: Bad BIOS Flash On Aspire 5315
May 21, 2008Second time this has happened. I've downloaded the BIOS update from Acer's website.
Closed all programs, disabled the antivirus and went to flash it. Right after clicking start I get a Verify Error and the sytem freezes and is a dead unit. First time this happened they tried to tell me it was something like $150 to fix even though I did everything right. Now I went to do it again, same thing. Now Acer is telling me it will cost $450 to fix it. It's only 3 months old. They are also saying they are not responsible for anything downloaded from their web site.
So, couple questions. Has anyone successfully flashed their BIOS to 1.34? Does anyone know where you can buy motherboards cheap?
