View 8 RepliesMy volume icon in the system try reads "No audio output device is installed." The audio device is not even recognized in the device manager (i.e. there is no yellow exclamation point or conflicted device to update a driver to). The system simply does not recognize the fact that a sound device exists.
I have tried many, many things:
Fresh install (as per the sticky-guide) of Windows Vista x64 Home PremiumFresh recovery from system recovery partitionTried all versions of the drivers from the HP support page (Realtek and Conexant) --- I believe I have conexant, though.Safe mode driver installsDriver installs on a driver signing rebootPutting the computer into hibernate, then resuming (odd, I know.. I heard it worked sometiems).Made sure "Windows Audio" service is enabled in Administrative ToolsServicesInstalled Windows XP drivers for "Microsoft High Definition Audio controller"Flashed BIOS to most recent version F.32Updated chispet drivers to most recent nForce availableeInstalled Vista SP2
I'm sure there must be one or two more things that I've tried and just can't remember. I am running Windows Vista x64 Home Premium with SP1.
I bought a laptop of type:
ACER ASPIRE 7520-5971
Systems Specs:
AMD Athlon 64 X2
384MB Nvidia Geforce 7000M
4GB DDR2
MOTHERBOARD:
MANUFACTURER: Acer
MODEL: Fuquene
CHIPSET: NVIDIA nFORCE 560
BIOS: Brand: Acer, V1.33
SOUND DEVICE: Realtek High Definition Audio.
PROBLEM:
Six Months Ago, the Sound Device Stopped Working, I get the following message (No Audio Output Device is installed): It is as if NO audio device is installed on the motherboard.
Here's the catch:
Sometimes when I START my computer the Device Works, and Sometimes It doesn't. If I restart the computer like 20-30 consecutive times (IF I'M LUCKY) chances that in one of these restarts the device MAY Work. Sometimes i go weeks without Audio.
Here are *some* things I've Tried:
1) Format the System:
Different OSs I've tried: Windows XP Home/Pro, Vista, 7 and Linux.
The expirience the same problem with all these OSs. So It's not an OS thing............
I have an HP DV6700 Laptop, and I recently installed Windows 7 Professional (64 bit) (The full version from MSDN academic alliance, not the release candidate). A few days afterward, I had an issue where my speaker icon has a red "x" over it, and when I hover over it it says "no audio output device is installed". The funny thing is that the speakers worked after windows update installed an update, then they stopped a few days later, and I cannot for the life of me get the speakers to work again!
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a dv7-7270ca notebook and since a restart due to windows 8 updates I now have a red x on the speaker icon. I installed the HP driver for this model but it has an error in device manager that says:
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)
I did run an audio test using the shut down-F2 and passed and could hear the sounds in the test.
I recently received this acer laptop as a gift. Right from the first time I started it I noticed issues with the sound. With any audio that played there were crackling noises. The crackling got worse and worse so I Decided to restart the laptop and then the sound stopped working altogether.I tried reinstalling the Realtek HD audio drivers that came with the laptop but that didn't work and I still got a "No Audio Output Device is Installed" message in the bottom corner.
I tried reinstalling the drivers AGAIN, and the sound worked. All seemed well until I woke up the next day with no sound yet again.I then tried downloading new drivers from the realtek website, even these drivers didn't work. The only solution to the problem seemed to be basically uninstalling and reinstalling the realtek drivers until they worked, and even then, the sound would still crackle horrendously. After getting fed up with this issue I tried to refresh windows, and even this didn't work.I have tried everything I can think of .....

I have no audio. It has been previously working, but suddenly stopped. On the small speaker icon there is a red cross indicating "No Audio Output Device is enabled" When I log on to the computer i get a window that says "CWindowsSystem32AUDIOSES.DLL is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error."
I have attempted to Troubleshoot but unable to get any sound. I have updated the Audio driver, but it is the up to date driver.

I have followed the instructions in Testing for Hardware Failure on HP Support.
Suddenly my computer has no sound what so ever. It doesnt work when I plug in headphones, either. When I hold the mouse over the sound icon in the bottom right corner of the screen it says, "No Audio Output Device is Enabled."
I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1. My computer's product number is XZ046UA#ABA.
Do I need to install a new driver, or something else?
I accidentally deleted the prgram via the control panel uninstall. Need to download an reinstall same.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Probook 4720s with Windows 7 Pro. Connecting my laptop to the TV with a HDMI cable worked fine then suddenly the next time I did this I had no sound and when I right click the sound Icon I noticed it read ATI High Definition Audio device not plugged in. It worked once and now it won't, I miss it. The driver is up to date.

View 5 Replies View RelatedNew Latitude E6510 running Win7 Pro 64 bit. Periodically the laptop will boot with a red X through the speaker icon in the tray. Placing the mouse cursor over the speaker icon displays a message something like "No audio device is installed. A cold boot does not correct the problem. Shutting down, disconnecting the power supply, removing the battery then restarting has corrected the problem so far.
I assume this is a hardware problem.
After i installed windows 8.1 64 bit on my device, the audio beats control doesn't appear and i don't know if it's working properly or not, and i don't know if it's built in the original speakers.
My Device: HP Pavillion 15-p150ne
OS: Windows 8.1 64 bit
I had vista installed on my laptop, Acer 6920, (first OS) and it was direct from factory so everything worked fine. I then installed ubuntu and everything still worked fine. I then deinstalled both of those to put on windows 7 RC where all my hardware was working perfectly (minus the fingerprint reader but i honestly couldnt care about that thing) so my computer eventually got pretty bogged down with crap to the point where boot was about 30 minutes. during this whole time my sound seemed to work, but near the end windows stopped finding any internal sound related hardware (the speakers and the mic). For other reasons i did a clean reformat (3 times) and reinstalled 7 Professional 32 bit and when i booted i downloaded all the drivers and everything seemed to install correctly, but when i rebooted the sound still didnt work nor did the mic. the exact error message windows is giving me is "No Audio Output Device found" however when i plug in a headset or a bluetooth adapter + headphones there is audio and it works perfectly. I really need sound to work as some programs crash if they dont detect a sound output and also for monitoring audio recordings.
I have tried installing all of Realtek's drivers. Literally all of them. None of them worked what so ever despite clean installs and deinstalls.
I now am running 64bit and ive almost given up on this problem. I bearly saved this computer and i dont wanna have to buy a new because of sucha stupid issue like this.
More info:
Under the hardware manager in windows there is no tree for sound devices. there was an unknown component which i put forceware on as i thought it was the sound device but no go.

I ordered new E6500 that came with Vista on it and I wiped that and have installed XP Pro SP2 on the machine. I have followed the guide on this page and installed everything in the correct order. The only thing that didn't install was the dial-up modem. It errored out and said "No MODEM device was found". Typically on the Latitude laptops I seem to remember installing the modem driver and it taking care of this entry in the device manager, but not this time.
There is a dial-up modem on the laptop and this is the only device that looks to not be installed. There is no webcam, WAN modem, or anything else like that.
Has problem with installing XP onto a E6500? Is the installer for the modem driver just bad or is there possibly something else going on.
Yesterday I uninstalled IDT Audio driver by mistake. Now my NB doesn't have any sound. Where can I download the IDT audio installer for my NB?

My computer is HP Compaq 7900p small. I bought new graphics card which is Asus AMD HD6450. When I test it I saw problem - no sound.
When I click on Sounds tab, I see that AMD HDMI Output-AMD High Definition Audio Device - not plugged in and I couldn't change it to default device. When I troubleshooted it, problem was that one or more audio devices isn't running.
I was searched in google for solution, and found it that I need to change in BIOS from DVI port to HDMI port, but in my comp BIOS version is 7.11 and I don't see where it would be changed.
Only what I did was that I swapped integrated audio to enabled then I get sound from my speakers, but AMD High Definition Audio Device still isn't plugged in. How to change it to default!
All the sudden my audio is not plugged in. My system shows that it is enabled, but there is a red "X" over the sound icon on the bottom right of my screen. I've had it less than a week.

It looks like the AC adapter is not fully shielded.
I can silence the noise lowering volume on the Stereo Mix High Definition Audio Codec. However, my AMD HDMI Output is greyed out and static, or as I understand from other complainers; NOT PLUGGED IN. What can I do to solve this problem. It is a problem for when I open the Stereo Mix High Depfinition Audio Codec, a shrieking noise leaves me depth, and it eats the volume all up.

I know there are users who have been able to get sound out of their E6400s over Displayport, but all the users i have heard from and read about this from have had integrated intel video. Are there any E6400 with nVidia quadro nvs160 users that have successfully gotten digital audio out through the displayport using a displayport --> HDMI cable?

I do have realtek hd audio card and this card should have digital output. My gf has a toshiba satellite with the same card and she has it but I don't. I called sony and they replied (twice with different technicians) that this feature is not available on this model. Both audio cards have the same chip so I suspect that this feature is disabled hw.
It is not a driver problem. The driver does not install the Realtek Audio Manager so within the OS there is no way to enable it.
I have a HP Notebook 2000, with Windows 8.1. At some point, the hdmi output to monitor stopped sending an audio signal. The video signal is fine.
It is labeled in Device Manager: 1-STD HDMI TV (AMD High Definition Audio)
The monitor and hdmi cable work fine with other computers. I have disabled/enabled the HDMI device, and also updated drivers (Windows says my drivers are up to date).
Will the M1330 HDMI output 1080p video and 5.1 audio at the same time? I can't seem to find the answer to this. I'm planning on getting a Plasma TV with a DVD 5.1 Audio system.
