I keep getting an Acer pop-up that says "Please Download Latest Version of Flash Player". I have updated adobe flash player and that didn't work? Its an Acer Aspire 5733 purchased new less than one year ago.
View 4 RepliesI just got a 2GB RAM for my Aspire One NAV50 but when I install it, it doesn't boot or even POST, I just get a blank black screen. Why can't I find a BIOS flash for this model? When I enter the model or SNID, the Acer website gives me nothing.
I was going to say "it won't even accept my S/N, what's on my label is less than 22 characters long (expected by the site)" but I just now (before posting this message) found I was consistently skipping a couple digits.
Yesterday i bought a new keyboard for my laptop and thought while i'm changing keyboard i should open it up and clean the dust within... after assembling (i did everything in place like it was) i came up with a laptop that doesn't boot only powers up the CPU fan working but now showing anything at all and when i try to shut it down it doesn't respond so i have to remove the battery...

When I tried installing drivers for this Atheros wifi card I get the message "the device may not be present or could be unplugged", I have fitted a replacement card but still the same. I have noticed that when CPU Temperature is above 50c the fan turns on, and when bellow 50c the fan is off. This happens on both Windows 7 and Ubuntu 14.04. I have had this laptop for less than 3 years.

I can't play most games as it says shockwave flash player needs installed / update, this player was built into my computer when I bought it. I've tried updating doesn't work. Try fixing it and the shockwave player is enabled. The Media Suite is up to date and I've updated the BIOS today, still can't play games, only a few. ( Games from AOL, Pogo, I can't play hardly any games like bingo newer versions and no casino games on the other sites).

My Acer Aspire One (AOD150-1165) came with Windows Media Player 9 installed.
#1-Can I update that to Windows Media Player 10, OR, Windows Media Player 11?
#2- If yes, which one? (Would 10 be better?)
#3- Or would both, either, of them be too large for this AAO?
#4- If I can update to 10 (or 11), where would the best place to get the download?
#5- Would 10 or 11 OVER-WRITE version 9 (which is now on the AAO)?
#6- Why was such an 'old' version 9 installed on this AAO?
As noted above. Seems to be no power going to CD rom. light does not come on. door does not open, does not play cd.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSecond time this has happened. I've downloaded the BIOS update from Acer's website.
Closed all programs, disabled the antivirus and went to flash it. Right after clicking start I get a Verify Error and the sytem freezes and is a dead unit. First time this happened they tried to tell me it was something like $150 to fix even though I did everything right. Now I went to do it again, same thing. Now Acer is telling me it will cost $450 to fix it. It's only 3 months old. They are also saying they are not responsible for anything downloaded from their web site.
So, couple questions. Has anyone successfully flashed their BIOS to 1.34? Does anyone know where you can buy motherboards cheap?
Do I put isflash.bin and InsydeFlash.exe on a bootable USB drive and boot from it?

I'm using a Scandisk 8 gig flash drive for ready boost. When I boot the computer, it won't boot in to vista unless the flash drive is pulled out. I updated to bios 1.43.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI attempted to update my bios for my Acer Aspire 5745 notebook and chose the wrong file. The computer is giving me a black screen now. When I push the start button the lights come on the fan blows and thats all. I found a few sits on line giving me the procedure to flash an aspire one system. Here is the steps I took to do so to no avail.
1. When to the acer site and put the SNID number to my laptop to pull up my suggested downloads for my system.
2. I downloaded the file to my working computer.
3. I extracted the file and opened the file that said DOS.
4. I renamed the file zg5ia32.fd
5. checked my flash drive to make sure it is set to ( FAT ).
6. Transferred the file to the flash drive.
7. Pluged in the flash drive to my dead laptop while it was pluged into a powersorce.
8. Held down the FN and ESC buttons while pushing the power buttons.
9. Released the FN and ESC buttons when I noticed the power light blinking and the flash drive light up.
10. Waited for over 15 min. but had no success.
I also opened up the backside to the laptop and removed the little battery that was plugged it with a small white connector assuming it was the cmos battery but still nothing happened.
I have a Dell XPS M1730 with a BIOS revision of A03--the latest revision available on the Dell Drivers & Downloads page is A10.
My dilemma is that I am not sure if it is safe to skip the revisions A06 and A09 and just go straight for revision A10.
Also, is revision A10 any better than A09 or A06? Please, I really need somebody's advice on this matter.
Reasons for this BIOS update:
* Upgrading to two 250GB Momentus hard drives and run them under RAID 0.
* Planning on dual-booting Windows Vista 32-bit and Vista 64-bit (need help on this one as well, but let's just focus on the current matter) .....
I just changed the hard drive on my acer 5515. I also tried to add an operating system using a flash and it won't do anything. I changed the order so it can read from the usb but after that it's stuck on a blank page with a flashing line.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a Lenovo B575 bios update/flash utility since my BIOS has gone bad. I cannot change/save changes and cannot restore to defaults.
I cannot find bios updtae on lenovo site (not on drivers for B575 and not under the drivers matrix). I've even tried via "Phoenix" as it's their Bios, no good. And even via a third side component (biosagent plus) that should have Phoenix bios, still no good.
I just made a purchase of a 1410 for about $340 with an Intel Core 2 Solo SU3500 and 2GB ram. I plan to do a clean of install Windows 7 32-bit once I receive the laptop.
However one thing concerns me, how does the laptop fare with online Flash video streaming? I'm thinking it will do fine with 360p and 480p streaming, but is it able to run 720p or even 1080p smoothly?
Also, is this model able to multi-task somewhat? I'm not looking for anything extreme, but I'm wondering more about running multiple tabs in a browser or running Office apps with internet surfing, etc.
If not playable out of the box, are there tweaks to get HD flash playback smooth? I've heard of the new Adobe Flash 10.1 helping out with performance somewhat, but I'm wondering if it's a long wait before a cheap (sub-$400) netbook/sub-notebook can stream HD flash well that isn't an ION with Atom.
I've heard great reviews on the 1410 and like the purchase, but was just curious about some of the performance situations stated above.

View 7 Replies View RelatedGot an Acer Aspire 8920, bought last august,I got it hooked up to a Sanyo hdtv via hdmi at the highest resolution, Ive played one blu ray before just to test it [ the incredible hulk] and it worked fine, but that was the only time i played blu ray..... yesterday was the first time i bought blu rays for it though [pitch black and chronicles of riddick] excited i put it in asked me for updates which i did and bam played it but when id go to full screen it would startlike flashing [like the screen goin on n off... you could still see the image but it with the flashin in between] n then it crashed so when ibooted it up again it wouldnt play it would just stay in a black screen
So reading around and people were talking about the area changing it from A to B so i did, and seemed to be reading the disc again, but the flashing kept happening...its like watching a video game goin at a lower framerate, it just keep flashin n jumping from scene to scene
so i kept reading and found that the acer arcade delux might be the problem so i read that powerdvd is the best player...went, bought it installed, not only crashes on me sometimes, but when it gets to play, again when i put it in full screen, gives me the same flashing tried at a lower resolution i get the same thing
