View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my laptop, it won't boot up due to "Operating System Not Found", but I've used it already for several times but just yesterday it turned out that "Operating System Not Found". I've tried to check whether the hard drive is a problem and slave it to another laptop but it's still working, it will boot up well in another PC. Now I tried to insert a bootable USB drive just to reformat it for it to work again, but still it won't work. My bootable USB drive is detected and can be found in the boot options but if I select the drive for boot it still says "Operating System Not Found". Then I went searching over the net then I found something that might work like having it boot in Legacy BIOS mode, it boot up then but the problem is my display is distorted and fading, there are lines and overlapping display.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI get the Acer explore beyond limits splash screen. It stays on that for several minutes then the screen goes black and says that Operating system not found.
I was able to get the BIOS screen by pushing F2 but didn't know what to do from there.
I am trying to fix a v5-571 for a customer, i get the " no operating system found" error, so i thought i could just wip out the hard drive back it up and restore, total failure after removing the drive, the drive comes up with cycle redundancy errors which usually means drive is dead, now I can buy a replacement but I've been unable to find recovery disks for the new drive. The lappy is windows 8. There is no disks with it he never made a recovery disc.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an acer Aspire 5733Z and all of a sudden I am having an issue with the ETD Control Center (ETDCtrl.exe) using and average of 50% CPU usage.
It's causing my laptop to lockup and go slow.
This just started today and came out of nowhere, I've never had an issue before.
Here's the list of recent changes and/or updates I've made. But they were 3 days ago: Norton Security SuiteJava 7 update 71Acer System Information I can't seem to find anything about this.
Came to a point when I should completely restore the OS on my Acer Aspire 4752. Neither through Alt+F10 nor through eRecovery am I able to get around a Notice with the following "please complete operating system setup process before doing system recovery". There is only one option of this notice, that is to ok it and then the current Windows 7 Home Premium OS starts and I am not able to get out of this viscous circle. The OS works and is completely set up, so I do not understand what am I prompted to do. I see a number of postings out there, but no solution. Local Acer does not seem to know anything about the problem nor it's existence.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am using an Acer Aspire E1-531 with Windows 7 64 bit on it. So whenever i want to use my webcam it is not found by my laptop. I tried downloading multiple drivers but none of them work (no webcam detected). Another thing is that i dont have an "Imaging Devices" section in my device manager. I've recently formatted my laptop so maybe the driver was deleted or something... I hadn't used my webcam before so i don't know if it had worked back then.

I have uninstalled the program, deleted the driver and re-installed the program but to no avail.
I can right-click the ePowerManagement icon in the task bar and change cpu speed and Brightness but I can not launch the utility.
I am running Windows XP Home on an Aspire 3610.

my Vaio and so I decided to recover everything with my recovery disk.
I chose the option to wipe and erase data, and when I tried to restart my laptop... it tells me that the operating system could not be found.
I'm still under the company warranty so I was also thinking of returning it to get it fixed if I can't do it on my own.
I have an Aspire V3-772G. I can't create a recovery drive anymore. I ran reagentc.exe in command-prompt and it's pointing to the correct recovery location, but Windows RE is disabled and for some reason I can't reenable it.
Here are some screenshots to describe the problem :
I have an Acer Aspire 4720Z. Since long I had been using XP. Recently it was formatted and Windows 7 was installed. But after this upgradation, the WLAN is not working. Have banged my head with drivers and all.
Device manager is showing Microsoft Virtual Wi-Fi miniport adapter (although with XP it simply showed by the name of WLAN adapter as far as I remember). And checking it's properties it says that the device is working properly. When Intel Wi-Fi Technology is tried to get started, it says that 'A supported intel wireless network adapter not found'.
I got a Sony VAIO VGN-SZ330P for free. It is about three years old and the manufacture date is late 2006. The problem is that on startup I get the above message. I took the drive out of the computer and hooked it up externally to my pc and was able to read and write to it. Because of this I would have to think the HD is OK. When I put it back in the laptop it does not spin and the bios does not see it. I am thinking a controller or mobo or a disconnected power cable inside. It is a SATA drive with a single combined power/data connector.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis laptop shows "no operating system found" when I power up. I ran knoppix which works but I tried pressing F8 to get to the CMD prompt but it doesn't work, I can get into the BIOS, anything I can do in the bios to do either a system restore or run the recovery?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Inspiron 14R N4010. Its 2 years old. Its Toshiba hard drive(320 Gb) crashed 8 months before so I bought new WD hard drive(500 Gb), which also crashed again 2 weeks before(OS drive had bad sectors apperently) . Hence i got it replaced by WD for a new 500Gb hard drive.
Now, when I am trying to install OS in my new hard drive, i am getting following error:
Intel UNDI, PXE - 2.0 (build 083)
Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation
For Atheros PCIE Ethernet Controller v2.0.2.3(06/18/10)
Check cable connection!
PXE-M0F : Exiting Intel PXE ROM.
Operating System not found.
after learning about possible mistakes by reading some forums
1) I checked that hard drive is installed properly, all connections are good.
2) DVD I'm using to install Window 7 is bootable one & i have used it before
3) BIOS settings are checked to boot fromCD/DVD drive. (It is not booting from network adapter which supposed to be reason for ethernet error as per many other forums)
4) I tried draining current by pressing power button for 20 sec to reset settings.(I read in some forum) but even that didn't worked.
BIOS is detecting hard drive...so that is also not issue. Could new hard drive be damaged? should i get this new one also replaced again? I need some way to confirm this before me sending it back to WD.
In one microsoft forum, I read for same problem
"update the basic input/output system (BIOS) to the latest version by contacting the motherboard or computer manufacturer and check if it works.Important: Modifying BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.

I'm trying ubuntu from USB (also tried linux Mint) but I can't boot from the USB, I always get "operating system not found" error.
I tried booting with F12 and choosing USB, tried to change boot order in bios and set USB 1st but nothing works. What else can I do ? The usb is bootable so the problem is with the laptop/bios.
on my HP Pavilion dv 9500 series laptop installing Windows 7 Ultimate, I get base system device error, base system device driver not found. devices are on - PCI bus 7, device 9, function 2. & pci bus 7, device 9, function 3. these are found in the device manager under other devices.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had my acer aspire 6530 since August 2009 now. It never had any major problems. Sadly, after comming back from New Years Eve 2014, I wanted to turn it on, but it just started up for around 4 seconds and then started to reboot again and continued so, until power was plugged out or shut down. There was only a black screen, without BIOS etc.I've searched forums for a solution, all of whom resulted in failure.

I realize re-installing XP is my next bet but I can't boot to USB. maybe the Solid State HD DEAD?
I have exchanged the HDD of my Vaio Z4 with a C300 Crucial 256GB SSD.
I installed Win 7 64bit ultimate from the scratch (allowing Win7 to set up the drive during the process).
The current bios is: R5031M3A (I was using the R4044M3 bios before with the same result.)
I have the following problem:
When I restart the laptop either as cold boot or from hibernation, I always get the message "operating system not found". This problem occurs every single time. When I press "alt+ctrl+del" in order to do a "hot" reboot, I have no issues anymore. Also from standby or doing a reboot, the SSD boots without a problem...
I am currently wondering what is going wrong.
The drive seems to work perfectly. Benchmarks are as they should be. The drive is properly recognized with all necessary settings installed...
I wonder right now, if I should try to install Win7 again. But before use a partition manager to format and set up the drive properly... Or is there another issue I have overlooked?
