Acer Aspire V3-772G :: Cannot Create Recovery Drive - Windows RE Image Can't Be Found
Oct 20, 2014
I have an Aspire V3-772G. I can't create a recovery drive anymore. I ran reagentc.exe in command-prompt and it's pointing to the correct recovery location, but Windows RE is disabled and for some reason I can't reenable it.
Here are some screenshots to describe the problem :
After upgrading to Win 8.1 and trying to create the usb recovery drive, I get this error:"We can't create a reccovery drive on this PC. Some required files are missing. To trouble shoot problems when your PC starts, use your window installation disk or media".
I recently bought a T530 with Windows 8 pre-installed. I want to create recovery disc(s). However, in the "Create a recovery media" wizard, I don't have the option of selecting DVDs if tick the option "Copy the recovery partition to the media". I have a bunch of DVDs lying around and I would like to use them. Not to mention that I don't intend to buy USB drive just for this purpose.

When I turn my computer on, it loads to a gray screen saying "No boot image found, notebook will shut down". There is a blue button that says "OK" under this sentence. When I click it, the computer turns off.

I have been getting a random blue screen popping up every once and a while, that will "dump my physical memory" or something and then reboot itself after like 30 seconds. my hard drive was the reason for these constant errors. So I backed everything up, in preparation of a real crash. I am in the process of ordering a new hard drive from Newegg.com, and I would like to know if it is hard to replace a hard drive in a notebook, or if I should have Geek Squad do it for $50. Also, I dont think I have the Operating system disc that came with my computer, so how do I order that from HP and how much is it?And last but not least, Is there a post or video with instructions on how to install a hard drive and the operating system?
After upgrade to Window 8.1 PRO I seeC: 932 GBD: 28 GB -listed as recovery. I want to save system image backup Currently to create system image backup I have only option to create image on external drive or on D:
1. Is possible without reinstalling windows create new partion E: in order backup system images to it? If yes how create new partition in win.8.1?
2. if partion E: will contain system image(s) can I boot from usb recovery disk and choose restore from one of system images located on E:
3. If for some reasons I want to reinstall OS from set of recovery DVD(s) to factory setting what is going to happen with partion E:
I recently reinstalled windows 8.1 on my laptop as i had cloning problems with my new ssd (crucial mx100), reinstalling windows apparently solved the problem. i had problems with my display (brightness could not be adjusted) that was solved by installing intel's latest drivers using their app as device manager showed that it had the latest drivers. i only have one issue right now, the touch pad lost its multi-touch features and windows 8.1 gestures, is there anyway to fix this? i know it is probably a driver's problem but i can't really find them in device manager and if you can post the link of the drivers.
Acer aspire 5742. HDD crashed. I nstalled WD HDD. Booted with recovery disk. 1st screen US english next. second screen no OS in box. tried restore with image you have created earlier. could not find image. tried other recovery tool, Recovery Management. will not let me click on completely restore system to factory defaults. If I go back and click install drivers the disk has many applications and drivers. Put the old HDD back in and booted from disk. It allowed me to click on restore to default but when finished and restarted nothing. restarted wit f2 and with old drive in shows no HDD
I Purchased this laptop, (Inspiron 3521) through ebay.in and after 3 months I found that it has no factory installed image in it (but mentioned during purchase). I still have warranty till march 2015. Can I be able to replace the faulty disc with new one win8 installed.
I have Acer Aspire 5742G notebook and I'm having problems installing the Windows 7 OS on my new SSD hard drive (I bought the SSD because the original hard drive is failing and making blue screens all the time...)For the factory restore, I'm using restore discs. I burned the discs few years back when the laptop insisted me of doing it (by using eRecovery or something, 3 dvds total).
The computer tries to install the OS with the dvds (asks to insert a dvd and then press a key). The actual problem is that the installer is just going in loops, restarting and eventually freezing in the end.. Reboot -> Acer logo -> Windows is loading files... -> Starting windows -> Reboot -> etc. That kept going for more than a hour (on the first dvd!) and suddenly it just froze on the "starting windows" screen.. So I had to reboot and star over again.I can still use my old formatted HDD, should I make new set of recovery discs or use an USB drive?
I am trying to fix a v5-571 for a customer, i get the " no operating system found" error, so i thought i could just wip out the hard drive back it up and restore, total failure after removing the drive, the drive comes up with cycle redundancy errors which usually means drive is dead, now I can buy a replacement but I've been unable to find recovery disks for the new drive. The lappy is windows 8. There is no disks with it he never made a recovery disc.
I have dell inspirion N5110 . I formated only drive c for reinstall the windows .I am sure drive for recovery is still there . I did not delet it. now I have problem about drivers. I want to use recovery image in recovery drive but I can not run the recovery. How I can use the recovery drive.?
what I must do for factory settings or using recovery image in recovery drive ?
So as soon as I got my brand new Y50-70, and before doing anything on this laptop (not even installing new software), I went tried OneKey Recovery only to discover that it is broken.
I then tried my luck with Windows Recovery (the one provided with every Windows 8.1 copy, not unique to Lenovo):
I first went through system image creation on a recovery drive (1TB WD Elements USB HDD):
1. Find it on Control Panel: 2: Select it (Recovery option): 3. Create a recovery drive: 4. Selected the F: drive (1TB, it's not a *flash* drive just an ordinary USB hdd, does it matter?): 5. Got a nice warning (indeed, this process reformatted the drive, to 32GB only, why 32GB and not the full 1TB?)
Now... let's see if I can restore from this newly created system image:
1. Rebooted from the newly created Recovery Drive (it actually boots!): 2. Selected "Use a device", then received this menu: 3. I selected EFI USB Device. It then went to an intermediate Lenovo boot splash: 4. And shortly after that (without me doing anything) a new prompt, to choose a language: 5. I selected English and then, got prompted for keyboard layout: 6. The system then system to restart again from the Recovery Drive, only to prompt me again with the "Choose an Option" screen (as in step #1). So, I selected "Troubleshoot" this time: 7. I then selected "Advanced options", and received this screen: 8. I then selected System Image Recoery and received this screen: 9. I selected the only option available (Windows 8.1), then got this "Cannot find system image": 10. Why??? I clicked cancel and I was prompted to select an image: 11. So I clicked Next, but got nothing to select: 12. Clicking the Advanced button only provides irrelevant options:
I have a problem with my laptop, it won't boot up due to "Operating System Not Found", but I've used it already for several times but just yesterday it turned out that "Operating System Not Found". I've tried to check whether the hard drive is a problem and slave it to another laptop but it's still working, it will boot up well in another PC. Now I tried to insert a bootable USB drive just to reformat it for it to work again, but still it won't work. My bootable USB drive is detected and can be found in the boot options but if I select the drive for boot it still says "Operating System Not Found". Then I went searching over the net then I found something that might work like having it boot in Legacy BIOS mode, it boot up then but the problem is my display is distorted and fading, there are lines and overlapping display.
I recently got an E135 that came with Windows 8 preloaded. I really didnt like the new interface so I installed Windows 7 on it. Unfortunatly I forgot to create a recovery stick using this method. Now I'd like to reset it back to Windows 8 but I have no means of forcing the computer to acces the recovery partition.
Method's I've tried: F11 during startup gives me the option to recover Windows 7 from a USB stick. Which is weird because the original OS was Windows 8Rescue and Recovery and OneKey both give me the option to back-up but not to restore from the hidden partition.
Info: Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E135 335972G..Disk Managment shows one HDD divided into: 2x recovery partition, 1x EFI system partition and normal parition.
Today I received my new worklaptop, a W540 with Windows 8 installed.
The first think I wanted to do was to create recovery media (I'm going to re-install on a SSD). However, trying to run the Windows 8 "Create recovery media" tool, as sugested by Lenovo, results in the following:
The option "Copy the recovery partition ..." is grayed out, and I can not select it. Pressing Next results in the following:
Let's start off with: Acer Aspire V3-772G (Intel(R) ore(TM) i7-4702MQ CPU @2.20GHz, 8 gb Ram)
Regardless: After noticing a slight dip in preformance from games and use of my laptop in general so i decided to clean the fans. As this laptop is close to impossible to open up i decided to clean it the easy way, to blast compressed air directly into the fan in slow and infrequent blasts. After getting alot of dust out of the system i turned the laptop back on only to hear this "cd-reading"-like hissing from the left side of the laptop (where the fan is). Being worried i might have broken something i turned it stright off, and then on again realising there was not much i could do about it right now.
I am worried i might have spun the fan to fast, causing this, as the fan did not make this sound when i bought it new or before i cleaned it for that sake. It was bought online from a norwegian store (i currently live in norway) at 2014-08-18. I thought i would ask here before i contacted the store or support to see if this is just me over-reacting or if
Right I have a picture on my panasonic TV but no sound through HDMI i've installed different drivers countless times and i cant see any HDMI option in playback devices.
am i thick and loading the wrong drivers or is this just another problem with this laptop?
like a mouse that zips all over the screen whenever you try and move the mouse right it goes left....
After installing the 1.15 version of BIOS my FAN is working almost constantly. Is it any way to downgrade back to version 1.13? Will, f.e., complete reset to factory settings work?
I have an Acer Aspire 4720Z. Since long I had been using XP. Recently it was formatted and Windows 7 was installed. But after this upgradation, the WLAN is not working. Have banged my head with drivers and all.
Device manager is showing Microsoft Virtual Wi-Fi miniport adapter (although with XP it simply showed by the name of WLAN adapter as far as I remember). And checking it's properties it says that the device is working properly. When Intel Wi-Fi Technology is tried to get started, it says that 'A supported intel wireless network adapter not found'.
I know it is probably a driver's problem....
I purchased an Acer Aspire V3-772G-9822 laptop in August 2013.I had the original unit exchanged by the retailer due to a faulty screen (green line running down the display).
I also had the mainboard replaced near the end of the warranty period due to an internal fault with the power supply [case #3414447U].
I am now just outside the warranty period, with (ostensibly) a new mainboard, and the unit will not boot .
I have tried the remove-battery-and-power-supply-and-press-button exercise (resetting the power management IC, I presume) - no success. I have checked / re-seated / removed any / all / each internal SATA drives - no success. I have removed the memory (unit off) to see if I'd get a POST beep error message - no success ...
I bought this PC last year and now i would to format it because i noticed some slowing downs during some operations (such has the switch on). My question is: can I install a "clean" win8 with the recovery image? How? I mean a O.S. free from Hp's customizations as if I bought it from Microsoft. If it isn't possible with the recovery image, is it possible in other way, keeping the license?
I didn't upgrade my BIOS, it came with the latest BIOS because of the graphics card. The people that have fixed it by downgrading have a older version of the same laptop with a different graphics card.
