When I turn my computer on, it loads to a gray screen saying "No boot image found, notebook will shut down". There is a blue button that says "OK" under this sentence. When I click it, the computer turns off.
I have an Aspire V3-772G. I can't create a recovery drive anymore. I ran reagentc.exe in command-prompt and it's pointing to the correct recovery location, but Windows RE is disabled and for some reason I can't reenable it.

Laptop is model HP 2000-412NR Serial 5CB2012RD6 After purchasing a laptop from a pawn shop my girlfriend asked me to reformat and reinstall the OS. I restarted it and went to change boot priority and found that there is an administrator password.
At lockout it says System Disabled and gives the code 54254783
I Purchased this laptop, (Inspiron 3521) through ebay.in and after 3 months I found that it has no factory installed image in it (but mentioned during purchase). I still have warranty till march 2015. Can I be able to replace the faulty disc with new one win8 installed.

I press the power button (or else I click on "shut-down" from the settings of the charm bar) but it goes in stand by not sht down. I checked the save battery settings and everything is ok. I contacted microsoft, they said me that it is a problem of compatibility with Hp, because windows 8 has a native antivirus and firewall, so it is a conflict between this windows 8 antivirus/firewall with a pre-installed saving energy software of HP.

I purchased a Pavilion g7 laptop in December 2012. The 1TB HDD that came with the laptop started to go bad on me. After several attempts to 'system self-repair' (which failed) I purchased a replacement Seagate SSHD 1TB HD. Since I did not have any Windows 8 recovery discs I contacted HP, paid for and had them sent to me.
So now I have a new SSHD, new W8 recovery discs and my laptop. I replaced the HD and started the recovery process per the paper instructions that came with the discs.
At 4% (in the 'Copying files required to restore the hard drive phase') I get an error message:

To: C:/RM/Image/BASE14.SWM
Press OK to retry.
Obviously since I'm posting about this simply pressing 'OK to retry' did not work. I powered the laptop down and restarted the recovery process. I got the same error message at the same point described above.
I am trying to do a Facotry Image Recovery with a CD and the system has been stuck at 74% with 13 minutes remaining for over an hour now. I have a Pavilion DV6000 with Vista Home Premium.

3 of those notebooks are HP Probook 450 G2's (PN: J4R69EA)
(These are the models with the 128GB SSD drives)
The other two are Lenovo E540’s with similar specs.
So first things first, create recovery media. So that is done before I hand them to the end users in question. While trying to create the windows disc, the "HP Recovery Disc Creator" program demands Dual layer DVD's: "Please insert a Dual-Layer DVD to proceed" The DVD's in question I’m using are "Sony DVD+R 120min/4.7GB" discs that in the past have always worked. (and at this moment are working for the Lenovo portables)

I have not tried a USB stick, but this is not what I want and since you can only create one set of backups…

This would not be that big of a problem if there was an actual windows 7 key printed on the portable. If I had a key, I would just reinstall the machine straight away with a clean windows 7 image so I dont have to clean out all the HP software. but unfortunatly this is not the case. so i need a Windows 7 Recovery disc to be created.
When trying to restore the factory image (F11 during boot), the laptop seems like it is trying to boot the missing Windows installation (Windows boot manager error page).The partitions "SYSTEM", "HP_RECOVERY" and "HP_TOOLS" have not been touched. The ~15 GB recovery files are still there!The Windows partition (2nd primary) has been deleted and recreated as an NTFS partition. Since then the recovery process will not start.
How can I restore the system from my intact HP_RECOVERY partition without using recovery DVDs? (I can't access them right now.)Does the Windows partition need some specific disk label? What is the magic that breaks the recovery when a NTFS partition is simply deleted and recreated?Peter

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a new Pavilion m7-1015dx Laptop and need to make the System Recovery Discs ... (which I realize restores the Laptop to factory default).. btw, I've already created the System Repair Disc.
However, I read an article about creating a System Backup Image that allows you to Recovery EVERYTHING if lost, all your installed programs, etc.
First Question ::: if I do the System Backup IMAGE ... Do I still need to create the System Recovery disc's (mfg's default) also??
The Second Question ::: If I create the System Recovery discs do I still need that Recovery Partition ??
I am really really wanting to partition my C: drive ... it's huge plus I hate seeing storage folders intermingled with system folders .. Currently using a Symbol/Character to separate them.
As of now, I can't partition the C:drive as all partitions are used.. max is 4 and I've got 4 .... C:drive, System Partition, HPTools Partition, and Recovery Partition.
I have a problem with my HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC, model 15-e055st, which I purchased two months ago with Windows 8 pre-installed. I susequently upgraded the operating system to Windows 8.1 and all seemed to work OK. I then used the HP Support Assistant to do some important updates, which included the BIOS and other software. Following the HP update the computer would not Shut Down or Sleep, but Restart worked OK. When I attempt to Shut Down or Sleep, the screen goes black but the power light and the wifi light on the keyboard remain on and the fan is still operating. The machine will not recover from this situation without me first doing a hard reset by keeping the power button pressed for about five seconds.
I trıed restoring the software to the condition prior to the HP update but the problem still existed. Two days ago I refreshed the computer, which rolled the operating system back from Windows 8.1 to Windows 8.0 but the Shut Down/Sleep problem is still there.
My laptop was beginning to slow down so I've done a reinstall of windows and wiped my SSD clean (I replaced the original HDD with an SSD a while back).
Because of this I've not got a backup partition containing my drivers.
My fingerprint sensor has stopped working. It says an error has occured whenever I try to use it even though my fingerprint was saved in my user accounts as a sign in option.
Where do I get the driver for this?
Also, I now no longer have HP Recovery Manager that had all of the drivers. Where can I download this?
PS. I've downloaded all the drivers on the HP website associated with my laptop here Laptop Drivers
These are the only two things that no longer work and it would be handy to get them sorted.
I have dell inspirion N5110 . I formated only drive c for reinstall the windows .I am sure drive for recovery is still there . I did not delet it. now I have problem about drivers. I want to use recovery image in recovery drive but I can not run the recovery. How I can use the recovery drive.?

I am having problems with finding drivers for this notebook. When I search for it on this site, nothing shows up and when I find it here it just says "The product you selected, HP ProBook 4330s Notebook PC, is not supported in ...". I just reinstalled the system and don't have the drivers anywhere. I tried using the 4331s drivers, but it just resulted in blue screen of death..
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm running a dual boot on my m1530 with Vista and XP. I used a link I found on these forums to find the XP drivers, put them on the disc, and install them that way. I tried to find the link again, but I cant.
Anyways, the problem is that when I close the laptop lid in XP (the problem does not occur in Vista) the screen goes black (maybe into hibernation?) and I have to hold the power button down to shut down the computer and restart it. I've tried fooling around with settings and that doesnt help.
Maybe it's a driver issue? Can some one lead me to the correct driver...or tell me what else may resolve the problem?
Aspire 7540-1284 Shut it down. Went to turn it on and the blue lights are working but it just lets me know the Hd is there but then gets quiet - nothing shows on the screen. It's 5 years old and I just reinstalled Win 7 Pro this week. I removed the battery. Same thing. I put the HD in an external case and hooked it up to another laptop and it is fine.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new HP ENVY-4 with Windows 8 pre-installed. After some weeks in which it worked fine, the computer started to have some trouble. Then it simply did not start anymore. As I shitch on, stay for a while with black screen and then a blue mask appears saying "selected boot image did not authenticate". Only chance is therefore to press ENTER and then the computer shut off completely. I went trough your forum and tries almost everything. Recovery tools run, but not resolve. After the treatment, the problem is still there. I noticed that If I try to run the tool "repair problems to start windows", computer says that was not able to repair.. I also open BIOS and changed the setting relevant to secure boot and legacy mode... the computer simply does not start! I finally re-formatted the PC trhough the USB reboot key, (done with the HP support tool, when it was new)... same problem appear as I restart!

My question is: can I install a "clean" win8 with the recovery image? How? I mean a O.S. free from Hp's customizations as if I bought it from Microsoft. Booted with recovery disk. 1st screen US english next. second screen no OS in box. tried restore with image you have created earlier. could not find image. tried other recovery tool, Recovery Management. will not let me click on completely restore system to factory defaults. If I go back and click install drivers the disk has many applications and drivers. Put the old HDD back in and booted from disk. It allowed me to click on restore to default but when finished and restarted nothing. restarted wit f2 and with old drive in shows no HDD

When power button is pressed the LED in front of the touch pad blinks once.
The F12 with the power key does the BIST and the colors show up.
The Fn key with power key does nothing.
I have recently bought a Flex 2 15 and want to instal Win 7. I created a bootable Win 7 usb stick with the tool from Microsoft and it works just fine. The problem is, no matter what I change in Bios or Boot manager, The laptop doesn't boot from usb. All I get is the normal Win 8.1 installation.
