Acer Aspire V3-572 :: How To Disable Tapping On Touchpad
Oct 24, 2014
I am unable to find a way to disable tap to click on touchpad for Aspire v3-572. I don't see a tab for changing this setting in Mouse settings from Control Panel or anywhere else. I tried reinstalling the Synaptics driver from Acer Recovery Management but still no luck. This is not acceptable. Am I the only one having this problem?
I'm using G62 460TU with the windows7. I used to disable/enable touchpad by double tapping the upper left corner. But now,I can't disable touchpad by tapping.Touchpad disable setting also grayed out how fix this problem
I just bought an Acer computer, and am to the point where I am about to return it for a MAC because I cant turn off the tap to click feature. I have tried going through the control panel and messing with the mouse settings. I have tried to install the elantech driver as well as the synaptics driver. I can't get the drivers to actually work. I have contacted Microsoft and they are basically like "we don't know so go ask Acer."
I have an Acer notebook, Aspire 5735Z. Each time I turn on my computer I have to disable the touch pad using Fn plus F7. This disable function is not permanent though. Is there a way to disable the touch pad permanently?
I want to disable the wireless lan from connecting to the internet every time I reboot the computer. Actually I have no idea, I just dont want to have to push the disable wireless lan connection every time I reboot.
I would like to push the button to connect to wireless lan if I so choose to do so.
In certain chatrooms the built in cam comes on automatically. I'd prefer to use a better external cam but I can't find an option in settings to switch to the external cam. It seems the internal cam comes on by default.
I've just bought an Acer Aspire 5920G and the Crystal Eye webcam works perfect with MSN and so does the internal microphone. However, I've started hosting a show on an Internet radio and the sound quality from the internal mic is too low. Therefore I bought a microphone that I plugged in the appropriate jack on the laptop (next to the jack for the headphones) but when recording or broadcasting it seems that my laptop uses BOTH the external and the internal mic. Could anybody tell me how to DISABLE the internal mic and use the external instead?
I've tried to disable the Crystal Eye from the Device Manager on Windows Vista but that doesn't solve the problem. I've also tried to modify the settings from the recording devices but the LineIn is not plugged in. I'd just like to plug a mic and use that instead of the webcam's one. Any help would be really appreciated as I have to host a show in 2 days and I don't have a clue on how to solve this problem.
I am simply trying to boot from a USB or the disc drive in an Aspire E1-510p-2671.
I have set the boot priorities correctly. I have turned SecureBoot off. I have turned on the F12 boot menu.
If I turn the machine on and let it do its own thing, it loads Windows 8. If I tape F12 to go to the boot menu so I can manually select something, my only options are Windows Boot Manager, or If I have network boot enabled, I get two network boot options.
I cannot change SATA mode off of AHCI, and I cannot change boot mode off of UEFI. I have scoured Google for this issue and it seems loads of people with Acer laptops cannot boot from anything other than their HDD. Changing the UEFI option has fixed it for everyone I have seen able to switch it, but I cannot switch it. What is going on? Why am I being blocked from booting from particular devices/ports? Makes no sense.
According to the solutions I found when I googled the problem, I should be able to disable edge swipe by simply updating the synaptics drivers and turning off "edge swipe" under synpatics settings. However, there is no such setting even with the latest drivers 17.xx
According to a link given as a solution to the same problem, this page was given as a link, and its the same solution I saw on google. [URL] .....
However, I do not have the option to turn it off under settings.

I just got one of the newest Haswell notebook. With older HP laptop touch pads there is a spot at the upper left corner to disable the touchpad. With the latest Synaptic touchpad on the new ENVY 15t there is no keyboard or touchpad button to disable the touchpad when you are using a mouse.

Problem description: First off both plugged in mice and the touch pad work. I would like to disable the touchpad when typing. According to Google searches and HP support the touch pad should be able to be disabled and enabled by double tapping in the top left hand coner of the touchpad. This doesnt work.
Diagnostics: So far I have upgraded the BIOS to 01.05. Updated the firmware Intel Entry Management Engine (ME) Firmware Component to 126.96.36.1997. These 2 were under the guidance of HP support.
Uninstalled and reinstalled the Synaptics TouchPad Driver (International). I have tried both 188.8.131.52 and 184.108.40.206. These both fail with the following error message below
Worth noting: After I uninstalled then reinstall the Synaptics application doesnt return to the add remove programs list.In device manager the touchpad doesnt list under mice and other pointing devices.I have declined HPs offer to have the touchpad replaced as its not just 1 machine, its all 20 of them. Also it works fine during normal use.
