I'm running Windows 8.1 and I've successfully connected via Bluetooth other devices to my R7 and sound bar but I can't successfully connect my Aspire R7 to my Samsung Sound Bar model HW-H750.
I have a latitude E6540 and when I connect a external usb 3.0 disk it begins connect and disconnect randomly. I have tryed another disk and I have the same problem. This USB disk in other latitude E6540 works fine. I have disabled power option in the usb devices and reinstall drivers but nothing solved the problem.
I have that laptop but mine is the upgraded 4gigs from 3 gigs of RAM. I'm extremely impressed with its performance so far!
My question is: Is it possible with this laptop/model to get an aftermarket graphics card? Or is that out of the question? I guess I'm just trying to get the best possible game performance out of this notebook.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1764 about a month ago it started having internet problems. I have ruled out the problems being related to the actual internet service. I have excellent wifi signal and yet my laptop constantly connects and disconnects. The length of time varies. Some days I get to be on the net while others I dont at all. I have run diagnostics, downloaded darn near every update imaginable.
I am having a problem with my 5740-5513 laptop. When I press the power button it shows up the Acer welcome screen and blanks out and sort of powers again and shows up Acer welcome screen. This keeps happening in a loop.  I dont hear any RAM or DISPLAY beeps or hard disk activity. I am able to press F2 and go in BIOS. I do see HDD being available in the boot order settings. Not sure, if this is a static entry or only show up if it is detected.  This was brought in 2010 so dont have the warranty cover. Do I need a BIOS update? btw, this laptop was working fine and suddenly stopped working.
The hard drive on my Aspire 5740-6025 went bad and needed replaced. I purchased a new HD and installed using the recovery disks. Everything went fine until it got to the Windows screen that said "Setup is applying system settings." At that point I got a message saying "Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on this computer's hardware." How can I get the new hard drive to work on my system?

Does anyone know how to turn off the beep the function key makes when you change the volume or brightness on the SR model? I have Vista, and the Event Service folder doesn't show up in my program files so I can't change the pi
While starting the notebook, it beeps, (short toned but continuous) and pressing Alt / Ctrl or function keys stops that noise , then system getting booted. In the login screen, in the password field automatically populated with "*" and entering correct password get into a windows.
Every key is working except 'p' and this sometimes works. But to my wonder, this key automatically getting typed in text areas frequently. it continuously prints that key whenever focus goes on the text area.
I recently bought a XPS L702X. When I boot the pc and when I start typing, I sometimes get a beep sound for every single button I press on my keyboard. It's about 50% of the time honestly. Sometimes I can boot the pc, start typing for 30 mins and I hear no beep. But sometimes I start pc and first hit on my keyboard immediatly gives a beep sound. Also it could just start in the middle of a text I'm typing and end 3 sentences later without me doing anything about it.some people say to check bios and turn off things related to keyboard sounds.I checked that but I couldn't find it and the things I found about my keyboard in bios were not changeable.
has anybody else had a crackling sound when playing sound example music/games. i always get it in my right speaker and how can i fix this i believe this is a software/hardware issue as whenever the sound goes off the crackling deaseses.
I have a problem with my Dell Inspiron N5110. Its making a beep sound ( 5 in a row ) during system start up. Gradually the volume reduces and become very minute but still I am able to hear.
After Updating my HP ENVY TouchSmart 15-j100ee from windows 8 to windows 8.1 and installing all the drivers [URL] ... num lock button has a beep sound and 1-9 buttons doesn't work. However, when I am clicking 9 (page up) page is moving up. So it's not because of buttons have problem it's some hardware issue.

My Dell Inspiron 15 3250 won't start, it is giving 4 beep sounds with intervals no dell icon only black screen, and I've tried with Fn+Power button bt there it's giving that every thing is fine.
I'm in the process of identifying my next laptop to replace my 4 year old aspire and have come across the i5 core 5740 and 5942...
Both have the same processor i5 520 Both have the same graphics card ATI 5650 Both have a BD-ROM/DVD-RW
But the 5740 i've seen at £700 and the 5942 at £940.
Apart from a slightly larger hard-drive, the media board instead of the number pad and the backlit keyboard. What else would does the 5942 have that would constitute a £240 difference?
