When I try to power on my Inspirion 17 3721 it makes a beep/ticking sound. It is continious and will not stop. Its steady beep every second. I have tried to relieve the static power, I have taken out the memory stick and reinserted. I do not know what to do.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy DELL n5110 (core i7) randomly makes a strange Single Beep, then a clicking sound which i think comes from it's bottom left corner, this happens while i'am normally operating it, with no error what so ever, and it continues work, nothing appears on the screen, no system notifications, nothing at all, just Single Beep, then a Clicking sound that comes from it's bottom left corner and lasts less than a second, that's it, it's not bothering me, but what is it !!!?

I tried removing all power / battery and everything but no luck.
It is beeping continuously (not 4 not 7 beeps) with intervals and by luck sometime it boots, no dell icon nothing black screen, this is my first experience with dell, before I used Hp its quite better !

In 2013, base of the laptop was broken and I had to replace it with a new one though there was no problem in hardware at all. Soon after the dell representative installed the new base and left my house I was facing a weird problem. When I power on the laptop, my screen gives a mild flash but does not start (6 out of 10 times, not always), but I can hear windows start up sound in the back ground. I use to press power button again to lock or stand by the laptop and then move my mouse. After performing this I can see the screen glows and log on screen shows up.
I was using my laptop like this for past 1.5 years as pressing a power button was no big deal. Today on the eve of new year, I saw my trick does not work any more. I was not able to start my screen even after repetitive attempts. But I remember I used it last night, display was really fine.
I purchased Dell Inspiron N5110 last December, last one year i didn't got any problem with the laptop ,but once warranty got expired i got the problem like monitor display got damaged( which as rectified) ,
After that from past couple of days I am getting like 3 beep sounds from my laptop while start of my laptop and when shutdown of my laptop, why am getting three BEEP sounds from my laptop..
Whenever i turn on my laptop(DELL ispiron N5110), my system gives 5 continuous beeps thrice, i don't know the reason and what kind of failure it may be indicating. Few days back it was showing blank screen for a short duration when i turned it on.

A couple weeks ago, I noticed an annoying clicking sound coming from underneath the laptop. It seems to be coming from the center of the laptop. They occur continuously no matter what I'm doing on the laptop, but their frequency is random. It will click once and then wait a few seconds til the next click sometimes or click twice back-to-back and wait a few seconds, etc. No pattern as far as I can tell.
I did the Dell Hardware test, and it reported on faults...
The clicking sound is not super loud or anything. I can't even hear it if the TV is on, but it gets super annoying after listening to it when the room is quiet.
This is my first Dell laptop, but I can't imagine this is normal. I have had a Compaq and a Toshiba and other than the fan, you can really hear anything out of them...
When I turn the power on my laptop. It doesn't do anything, but make this very loud beeping sound. Can you tell me what is the issue and how can I get this issue resolved.

I connected it to an external LCD and it works. the problem is that I am on the biz trip right now and this beeping sound really annoys me (until I solve this problem by replacing LCD or buying a new lap top). And if I press power button, its turning off. Later I've pressed F8 key to login in Wiindows Normal Mode, its opening Windows. So every time i've to press F8 key to login. Sometimes the beep sound continues and not logging in normal mode or in Safe mode.
I thought it might be RAM issue and I checked 'System Settings' in Control Panel, it shows the usable RAM is 2.77GB of 8GB.
