View 2 RepliesMy Inspiron 15R N1510 laptop emits a series of 5 shorts beeps, evenly spaced, on start-up. It repeats this until the startup music plays and then stops. Everything seems to run fine and I ran the diagnostics and it passed all of the tests. I am not sure how to make it stop beeping..

View 15 Replies View RelatedI have Dell Inspiron N5010 for quite some time and yesterday LCD's just gone all of a sudden. I get 8 beeps again and again which seems to show LCD failure. I connected it to an external LCD and it works. the problem is that I am on the biz trip right now and this beeping sound really annoys me (until I solve this problem by replacing LCD or buying a new lap top). How to kill this beeping sound temporarily?

i just want to find the problem everyone is telling me the problem is from memory or the motherboard .
My DELL n5110 (core i7) randomly makes a strange Single Beep, then a clicking sound which i think comes from it's bottom left corner, this happens while i'am normally operating it, with no error what so ever, and it continues work, nothing appears on the screen, no system notifications, nothing at all, just Single Beep, then a Clicking sound that comes from it's bottom left corner and lasts less than a second, that's it, it's not bothering me, but what is it !!!?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Acer 7740G has been acting strange lately, it makes a beeping noise of approximately 45 beeps (not exactly sure, because as they are quite quick) when it is restarted. When it is turned off and on everything is fine, the beeping is only when it is being restarted.
Also it freezes randomly no matter what games/programs/apps are running. For example it freezes while playing heavy game, and also while playing Minesweeper with nothing else running in the background. I had to reinstall Windows several times, but the freezing keeps occuring without bsod. Also when restart is needed during installation it beeps like that every time on startup.
I've uploaded a video of the sound here (it's about 8/9 seconds in):
Boot Sound
I've owned the laptop for just over 2 years now and i've had this problem pretty much for as long as I can remember, I "think" it's the optical drive but I can't be sure, I also thought the problem might be because the drive was ahead of the hard drive in the boot options but that isnt the case
first off my studio 1537 is 3 months old, so i cant return it. Secondly, when i plug in my laptop at around 70-90 percent it makes a wierd sound. So i unpluged the battery and the sound is gone. Is it a bad battery?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI received my new Inspiron Utrabook today . Everything was fine for the first time that I booted. When I tried booting the second time, it's stuck on the Dell screen. Tried hitting F2 as per the suggested posts but to no avail. And how do you remove the battery ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedGot a new Inspiron 14z Ultrabook with Windows 8 64 bit, and I want to connect the Internet through a Huawei EC167 3G modem, running a program called "Mobile Partner". When I first install the modem it works fine, but as soon as I switch off the computer and switch it on again it stops working. The only way I get the modem working again is doing a computer refresh and re-installing the modem, but then it only works until I switch the computer off.
That Huawei modem used to work alright with an Inspiron 11z with Windows 7 64 bit.
Have recently purchased a new 14z. When I turn on the ultrabook, with no power cable plugged in - I get a message telling
me that the Battery is not recognized, and that I should press F1 to continue or F2 to go to the Setup screen. Pressing F1 boots
the ultrabook as normal. It seems a strange message to get. Ultrabook was purchased direct from Dell about 4 weeks ago, and
BIOS is A06 (latest).
I just bought my Inspiron 14z Ultrabook three days ago. The first time works fine, but now it's frozen on the Dell logo screen.
I have been able to run a diagnostic test if I hit the f12, and it's all ok.
When I hit f8 and the bar is fully loaded nothing happens.
I had just closed it the other night after charging it. Then there was nothing - no boot, no LED with charger, no fan. I checked and the charger is definitely functioning, so I worry that this is a problem with the motherboard.
Since it's an ultrabook, I haven't been able to remove flea power since the battery is embedded into the laptop.I wonder if it would be possible for a technician to come have a look at it ASAP?
I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop. I find it jumps back in my typing either several words or lines and types from there.
I seem to hit two keys simultaneously and it makes the email send. Usually these are the keys g & h and have also seen it happen when connecting with the letter B.
Anyone know why this laptop keyboard does this and how can I stop it?
My Inspiron 1525 makes long beeps when booting , and it even restarts before booting to windows recently I installed ubuntu linux .the keyboard is going on typing " ^.I am not able to discover what key it is .I hit some random keys, and the thing works...Most of the time hitting the TAB key few times before the boot sequence seems to work.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought an Inspiron 5423 laptop which is an Ultrabook. I love everything about this laptop except that a grinding noise comes from the fan even under very regular operations. It comes and go every 10 minutes and last for 30 seconds. Even my wife can hear it from the other side of the room. I'm not sure if something is wrong with this brand new laptop or it is the regular noise for all the Ultrabooks of such brand. It's really annoying and I'm thinking to return it.

View 12 Replies View RelatedLast month I got a Inspiron 3520 for my daughter and have had nothing but trouble with it. When I plug it in to the router I get download speeds of 35-45 mbps, when I check speed using the wireless connection they range from 11 mbps down to less than 1! It is not the drivers, the power settings, the router as I have followed all of the "fixes" suggested in other threads and run through a 2 hour session with the Dell online chat rep which ended when he had to reboot the machine and the link to return to the chat that he left on my desktop was invalid.
If I move our other HP laptop to the same location (less than 5 feet from the wireless router) that gets download speeds of 25-30 so I am sure it is not the wireless signal. Also we have iPads and smartphones that all work just fine from anywhere in the house. I have tested the Dell speed when there is no one else home and all other devices are turned off and it is terrible. I know this is not a top of the line laptop but I expect it to work at least well enough to be functional. Based on my reading of this and other sites, I am making a guess that the wireless card is faulty.
When you boot your Vaio you will hear a special chime, this is one of Sony Vaio's feature. I know that some people do not like this sound and disable it in the boot menu. On the contrary, I quite like this chime. I want to use it in my mobile phone as a ringtone or a message sound. I try to find it in my Vaio S36 but couldn't find it. Can anyone please help me find the boot sound file or tell me where it is located in hard drive?

Inspiron 15z Ultrabook, Windows 8, DELL System Recovery.
I have an external Seagate Expansion Drive 2TB and had backup files on it. I created a new partition by shrinking the E: volume and made F: to use for the DELL System Recovery.
I selected the F: partition when asked what drive to use. I was 100% certain E: would never chosen during any steps in the process. After it finished I looked in Computer and found both partitions had been formatted and a DBR_Boot placed in both. Yet E: (where personal files were stored) is basically empty other than what appears to be a boot up capability and F: has the recovery files.
Why has this happened? I need those files. Is there a way to reverse the process or will file recovery software be needed in an attempt to regain those files?
I can't believe this hasn't happened to other people, must be a common occurrence. What I could do to recover lost files.
I have purchased dell n5040 in 2010 and till now it has worked fine but recently it started beeping 8 times ...
