My Inspiron 15R N1510 laptop emits a series of 5 shorts beeps, evenly spaced, on start-up. It repeats this until the startup music plays and then stops. Everything seems to run fine and I ran the diagnostics and it passed all of the tests. I am not sure how to make it stop beeping..

Dell n1510 - receive error 24 ... I have run all updates, tried an older driver and re-installed the latest drivers, without success.
Unable to test keyboard by pressing f8 at start-up to get to a command prompt. also unable to press f6 to enable keyboard.
In windows mobility center, the 'turn on' button for the touch pad is grayed out. Is it possible that the keyboard/touch pad connections are not plugged in tightly? i don't want to to open up the laptop unless that is a good option...
My Acer 7740G has been acting strange lately, it makes a beeping noise of approximately 45 beeps (not exactly sure, because as they are quite quick) when it is restarted. When it is turned off and on everything is fine, the beeping is only when it is being restarted.
Also it freezes randomly no matter what games/programs/apps are running. For example it freezes while playing heavy game, and also while playing Minesweeper with nothing else running in the background. I had to reinstall Windows several times, but the freezing keeps occuring without bsod. Also when restart is needed during installation it beeps like that every time on startup.
Dell Inspiron 15 i15RV-6190BLK won't start it is beeping continuously with intervals. No display at all.

The battery started not keeping a charge for very long lately, but I am not sure this is what is causing the black screen and beeping. I'm more than a little fed up as my old Dell was purchased in 2003 and is still working. I'm not hard on my laptop - it's never taken from home, maintained well and on my last de-frag (2 nights ago), it was in good health with only a quarter of the memory used.
I was told by Trading Standards that I should complain directly to Dell as under the Sale of Goods Act, I should expect something like this to last longer than this. They were interested to here that it seems to be a common fault in the US, too.
What are the chances of getting this repaired? Will I have lost everything on it? How much will a repair cost? Should I just bite the bullet and buy a new laptop?
My computer worked fine last night and when I turn it on the screen stays black and the lab top keeps beeping and beeping. What should I do? It's an Inspiron m5010 !

I recently purchased my laptop about 3 months ago and had no problem with it. But when I went to go turn it on one morning it started beeping 7 long beeps. I did some research and found out that it is a problem with my processor. How do I fix this problem? Or will I need to return it to the place I bought it? View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Inspiron 17R, Intel i3, 4GB RAM. I've had the machine for exactly one week and have noticed several times, this high pitch (almost like a digital watch), that comes on for about 3 seconds, followed by a 'click', as if a disk drive was done working. This noise is coming from within the computer, not the speakers. Yesterday, it did it again, except the pitch changed during it's sound; again, followed by the 'clicking' sound.
The other thing I've noticed (and maybe I'm oblivious to new technology), is the fan on the inside of the computer doesn't stay on all the time. It comes on about once every 3-4 minutes, at a about a 5-8 second cycle. Maybe it's supposed to do that. I'm use to my old machine's fan staying on most of the time, allowing you to feel the heat being pushed out. Not so much on this one.
Now, could these two be related?
Have Inspiron 3520 with W8 - daughter has infected it via Minecraft update. Original issue was dark screen and beeping, 8 at a time. Put on a external monitor and am going through the long process of digging out the bugs with anti-virus and malware removal programs.
Question is this - how can I stop the infernal beeping? It starts up if I insert the power cord or disconnect/connect the external monitor. Is there any way to silence it?
This noise sounds like a garbage truck backing up! No screen appears. Noise just continues 'til I turn off computer.

I have Dell Inspiron N5010 for quite some time and yesterday LCD's just gone all of a sudden. I get 8 beeps again and again which seems to show LCD failure. I connected it to an external LCD and it works. the problem is that I am on the biz trip right now and this beeping sound really annoys me (until I solve this problem by replacing LCD or buying a new lap top). View 4 Replies View RelatedAlright, so I bought an Inspiron 15 7000 series laptop in October and I have two main issues with it.
One is that the w key keeps falling off. The plastic hinge thing underneath is broken.
Second, I think the hard drive is failing. It's making weird beeping sounds, clicking, takes a long time to boot up, crashes occasionally and moves icons around on my desktop every time I start the damn thing up.
My question: what can I do about it? How do I go about getting this fixed? I love the laptop aside from those problems. Is it covered under warranty? Do I go back to the store I bought it from, or do I just work it out with Dell?
