View 1 Repliescan't get my laptop to boot up/start. No sounds. No beeps. No nothing. Power cord indicates it is working fine. Battery should be charged since I rarely operate it under the battery. Has been running fine, no problems, I paused a movie and since then it is completely dark and not operating. Really disappointing since it is my main computer that I use every day.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy laptop will not boot up, just get the 7 beeps and a black screen. I have done research on this issue and it seems to be an ongoing problem with this laptop. If this is the case, this should be taken care of by Dell.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I have this laptop, and when you try to power it up, it shrilly beeps but nothing else. I am being told it is the CPU, could it be something else? My warranty is long gone on this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I turn the power on my laptop. It doesn't do anything, but make this very loud beeping sound. Can you tell me what is the issue and how can I get this issue resolved.

The laptop is in perfect condition (no drops/spills/never had a virus)
Earlier today I pressed the "fn" key and quickly pressed all the "f1 through f12" buttons when i turned on the power and It worked but after about 40 minutes i put the computer to sleep the problem started again. The "fn" thing did not work anymore even after numerous times...

I have a Inspirion N5050 laptop. A few weeks ago, it started running slow and Adchoices ads appeared. I removed them. I ran a scan using AVG, which detected nothing. I shut down the laptop as a precaution. Now it will not load Windows. I press the power button, the dell logo appears, then I hear what I think is the hard drive click, then the screen goes dark for a second, then the logo and a click and so on and so on. I am able to get to the menus with f2 and f12, what to do next. Safe mode will not respond ( I cannot get into it).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Inspiron 17R, Intel i3, 4GB RAM. I've had the machine for exactly one week and have noticed several times, this high pitch (almost like a digital watch), that comes on for about 3 seconds, followed by a 'click', as if a disk drive was done working. This noise is coming from within the computer, not the speakers. Yesterday, it did it again, except the pitch changed during it's sound; again, followed by the 'clicking' sound.
The other thing I've noticed (and maybe I'm oblivious to new technology), is the fan on the inside of the computer doesn't stay on all the time. It comes on about once every 3-4 minutes, at a about a 5-8 second cycle. Maybe it's supposed to do that. I'm use to my old machine's fan staying on most of the time, allowing you to feel the heat being pushed out. Not so much on this one.
Now, could these two be related?
my Dell M5030 decided this morning not to boot, but instead just beeps 7 times. The laptop is out of warranty, but looking at previous posts this is a known fault.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy wife was surfing the net and watching TV last night when her Inspiron M5030 got the blue screen of death. There have been no other errors or performance issues until now. When she tried to reboot, the laptop just gave 7 loud beeps over and over. Disconnected the power cord, removed battery, held start button down for 30 secs, tried to reboot, but got the same result.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Inspiron M5030 laptop was working perfectly fine last night. It was plugged in all night, and I had done the usual hibernate/sleep mode before going to bed. When I tried to start it up this morning, the screen remained black. It made the startup fan noise but then that stopped. Then it gave seven quite loud beeps. If I don't turn it off, it continues to give the seven beeps separated by a short break.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHave Inspiron 3520 with W8 - daughter has infected it via Minecraft update. Original issue was dark screen and beeping, 8 at a time. Put on a external monitor and am going through the long process of digging out the bugs with anti-virus and malware removal programs.
Question is this - how can I stop the infernal beeping? It starts up if I insert the power cord or disconnect/connect the external monitor. Is there any way to silence it?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI went to turn on my Studio 1555 this morning about an hour ago, and nothing happened. The power light came on, as did the keyboard backlights, but nothing else. The display stayed off and unlit, and the thing started spewing beeps at me. First a series of three loud beeps: one long beep and two shorter ones (beeeeeep beep beep), a slight pause, and then a series of 6 softer short beeps. Dell's website and service manual have been no help, and I can't seem to find these beep codes anywhere. Also, I ran out of warranty months ago.
I've tried removing the memory sticks, swapping them, relocating them, tried different sticks and different slots, removed the WLAN and Bluetooth cards, and removed the hard drive.
2 year old DV7 will not start up it just continually beeps, there are no stuck keys, everything has been unplugged, there is nothing connected. i've tried esc, F8 and F12 nothing happens....

View 4 Replies View RelatedBrand new laptop idles at 55° C, but at least the fans are quiet. Casual web browsing, listening to music, and/or downloading files and cpu temp rises to mid 70° C and the fan starts humming pretty noticeably. If I try to do any gaming, PC hits 85°+ C, fans go crazy, and the laptop starts beeping. I really like this laptop, but I need it to be able to handle my day to day activities.

I assume a new disk will be required.
My Dell Inspiron 1764 laptop will not boot up after using windows 7 installation disc in repair mode, as it has to restart several times during set up, it would not restart after first phase of operation. It never got to finish operation. Now it is just coming up with a black screen saying,Windows boot manager Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change it might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. insert windows installation disc and restart computer (which it will not let me do)
2. choose your language settings and then click next
3. click repair your computer
if you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance

After start up even pressing F8 before logo disappears numerous times it will not let me into that menu, so I cant access start up in safe mode or last known good configuration. No matter what I do it will not go past the above message on screen. I do have 1 year left on my warranty..Even pressing power button for 30 seconds with power disconnected, or pressing F8 button several times on start up doesn't go into menu at all....
I have a 14z that I purchased last August with Windows 7. It freezes at the DELL logo, and I cannot even do a F2 or F12 to try and get to any of the advanced menus.
View 5 Replies View RelatedDell Inspiron 17R laptop, close to 2 years old.
For a couple of months, the laptop refuses to boot when turning it on. Screens stays completely black, never reaches the Dell-logo. The power-LED burns normally, CPU lights up for a few seconds, then dies out. I hear the fans starting and I think the hard disk starts as well.
The speakers start making an intermittent beeping sound, short beep every +- 3 seconds.
At this point, I have to interrupt the proces, and restart. Occasionally, the computer does start normally (around 10-30 times trying). In the beginning, this took only a few times trying, but it's getting worse.
When the computer comes back from sleep, it doesn't have any problems, only when it's (re)started, or coming from hibernation (deep sleep).
