View 8 RepliesOne more time I am doing the same changing as I did to my previous Vaio Z and TT,
but this time I am having some problem which I don’t understand…………
I have placed some photo in order to see what I am doing,
In the att.
photos you can see the device manager and what happening using the full WWAN European drivers package ,Vaio Smart Network,One Click Internet and the Qualcomm Gobi2000 driver,
It show always the “Qualcomm Gobi 2000 HS-USB Mobile Broadband Device 9225” with yellow warning
I've had my eye on the Sony Vaio VPCZ11 however, I would like to add an external hard drive for data storage, is the USB port the only way of hooking up an external hard drive? How come a high end notebook like this doesn't have a eSATA port?

Boot Sound
I've owned the laptop for just over 2 years now and i've had this problem pretty much for as long as I can remember, I "think" it's the optical drive but I can't be sure, I also thought the problem might be because the drive was ahead of the hard drive in the boot options but that isnt the case
When I adjust the refresh rate on my Z to 60 Hz and restart it, it plunges back to 40.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy DELL n5110 (core i7) randomly makes a strange Single Beep, then a clicking sound which i think comes from it's bottom left corner, this happens while i'am normally operating it, with no error what so ever, and it continues work, nothing appears on the screen, no system notifications, nothing at all, just Single Beep, then a Clicking sound that comes from it's bottom left corner and lasts less than a second, that's it, it's not bothering me, but what is it !!!?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just purchased the new 16" F Series. Right out of the box, the unit makes a slight buzzing noise on the right side.
It starts after the unit has booted. It tends to happen when the machine is idle. It's the same if the battery is in or out.
I'm here to describe a weird experience that i had with a Vaio SR.
The model that i purchased was " Sony Vaio VGN-SR39VN/S".
It seemed as the perfect laptop. However, when i opened the monitor lid, holding it from the left side, the screen started making "waves" from the top left and bottom left side (those waves you get when you push your lcd screen with your fingers anyone?).
At first i was amazed. The "waves" continued to happen for 2-3 seconds, even after i positioned the monitor to the height that i wanted. Moreover, with every little vibration (e.g. typing on the keyboard), the "waves" where coming back ! Then, i did the same thing, but this time from the right side. Same thing. Waves again ! I started scratching my head. My Samsung NC-10 netbook does not make ANY waves when i open or try to position my screen in the height that i want, nor the previous laptops that i owned. LCD screens do make waves only when you put pressure/force on the back of the lcd with your fingers and/or when you put pressure/force with your fingers on the front of the screen.
Why the Sony does this ? Isn't supposed to be superior quality?...........
I have a Sony VGN-Z36GD. I am having problems with my sound. When I try and record something all I get is a hissing sound when I play it back. When I use Skype I can hear the person I am talking to but they cannot hear me. My laptop says everything is working yet it is not.

So far everything was going well on my laptop, did the tweaks I found on the forum and the laptop was performing very quickly. I noticed it was overheating however and called dell and they sent me a replacement motherboard.
Everything was working fine at first until I notice a huge performance drop. The computer took around 3-5 minutes to start up and all the programs took quite a while to start. The cpu usage was constantly reaching 100%.
After calling dell a few times and running a bunch of test and spyware removal tools, the problem still exist. I noticed today that this problem is only occurring when the ac adapter is plugged in and will work fine on just battery power. I called dell again today to report this finding and they still couldn't figure out what was wrong, they were just sure it couldn't be a hardware error. They can only suggest I do a clean install of Vista.
I own a Studio 1557 that uses an adaptor with 19.5V/4.62A output.
The jack sizes are identical. Can we use each other's adaptors? My assumption is that I might get away with both but that my wife might damage her laptop with my adaptor due to the higher output.
My PA-10 ac adapter died a few months ago just out of warranty, it was powering at the mains for a while but it is totally dead now. I have finally decided I need a new charger however not sure what to get.
Do I need to go for the PA-10 again or can I get the newer slim PA-3E one instead?
Its just I have found the PA-3E on amazon.co.uk for a lot less than I can get the PA-10 either from Dell themselves or on eBay.
Now for a few days my Vostro 1500 gives me message that power adaptor isn't recognized by DELL ...
and so on. But I didn't change anything this is original power adaptor from the box.
Just this morning I was using my notebook (E1505) for my homework. Than I went to class, plugged it in and the light on the adaptor didnt come on.
I tried different outlets and the same thing.
I unwravelled my cord, and the problem seemed to go away, (for now)
I guess i need to replace my power adaptor.
How long do you think it will take to get a new one?
I have the highest warranty thing Dell offers
I'm using xps with vista home premium, suddenly, I was not able to connect to the internet via Huawei e220, I googled out and find some thing called rarepair.exe and I run it then in device manager see the picture.
Also the error 720 appear when I try to connect
I don't want to re install windows
I've got an Acer AS1810TZ (originally bought in the US) which I'm going to be using in the UK. Can someone please confirm:
a) That I just need to get a UK power adaptor to run it in the UK.
b) That this one will do the job?
If either of those assumptions are wrong I'd very much like to be corrected and shown a suitable solution -
I bought a 13 inch macbook pro about a month ago and while enjoying my laptop, I heard a very faint tick sound. after a few days the tick sound become more prominent and after reading few complaints about ticking/clicking sound I am pretty sure this has nothing to do with the motion sensor or fan noise problems.
after few weeks gone by and I found out that if you press the bottom side of the laptop it will make a tick sound (is this normal?) I am not sure if this is causing the ticking problem I've been hearing.
so is it the 90w or 130w for the quad core i7?? i just ordered one today but nowhere i can find about it.

I'm not sure of the difference between the two.
I received my 1555 today and am absolutely over the moon. Trying to installing Windows 7 RC on at the moment and apart from some small hiccups - due to user erroor everything is going smoothly. BUT
From the moment I plugged in the a/c power adaptor I noticed that every so often it produces a buzzing noise? It happens every 20sec to 1min or so and last between 1sec to 10sec each time. Does anyone's do that? Not only that, it gets pretty hot as well, when I put my hand on it(on the label side) it feels really hot, in fact so hot that I have to take my hand off unless I 'made' myself stay there. Is this normal?
I installed windows 7 on my studio 1537, but can't find bluetooth adaptor in device manager.
I also turned it on before installing. The LED turns on too.
What are your experiences regarding how hot the adaptor gets? A couple of times now I've been viewing a flash video or what ever while browsing and have found that the 90W adaptor has gotten uncomfortably hot to the touch.
i mean it gets hot enough that the label on the back with the adaptor specs has begun to bubble in spots.
