Dell :: CPU 100% On Ac Adaptor Xps1330

I currently have a xps 1330 with Intel core 2 duo T7500 2.2ghz Nvidia 8400M gs
3GB ram Operating on Vista home premium sp1
So far everything was going well on my laptop, did the tweaks I found on the forum and the laptop was performing very quickly. I noticed it was overheating however and called dell and they sent me a replacement motherboard.
Everything was working fine at first until I notice a huge performance drop. The computer took around 3-5 minutes to start up and all the programs took quite a while to start. The cpu usage was constantly reaching 100%.
After calling dell a few times and running a bunch of test and spyware removal tools, the problem still exist. I noticed today that this problem is only occurring when the ac adapter is plugged in and will work fine on just battery power. I called dell again today to report this finding and they still couldn't figure out what was wrong, they were just sure it couldn't be a hardware error. They can only suggest I do a clean install of Vista.

I'm scoring about 1080 or so on my 1330 on 3Dmark06 with the nvidia 8400m gs motherboard. T 7500 cpu and 3 gig ram. Vista 32 bit. Right now I've got the 179.28 video driver, the others i've tried are similar..
Are these typical results? If I'm underperforming, what should I look at for improvements?..

Decided to pop the lid on my 1330 today and got curious about the extra mini pcie slot. .
If they make a fast (a la ocz vertex) mini pcie SSD, maybe I'll snag one.
either piggyback the 10/100 port thats already there, or somehow mod a new port/ a cable with a jack sticking out somewhere.

I'm having A LOT of problems lately with this pos (see sig for specs).
The thing kept on slowing down when browsing/watching movies/playing OLD games (warcraft 3 basically).
What happens is that from boot till now cpu idles at 100%.
I've scanned the pc, I got rid of services. Nada.
Today was even worse, the pc got extremely slow so I rebooted, then in the vista lóading screen it took ages (about 10 minutes), sometimes it would turn off before vista even finished loading, I couldn't even get into safe-mode.
So, I let it cool off, and turned it back on after an hour. Everything was fine then but after playing a short game in warcraft it started acting up again.
I'm using Vista Home SP1, I basically turned off all the useless services and startup app. turned off indexing VAC etc.
My temp are (HWmonitor): CPU: 65, Mobo: 60, GPU: 85, HDD: 45
Sometimes I carry my laptop in my backpack to uni and tend to forget that it's in there and when coming home I tend to trop it from around 5-10 cm height (rarely happens) but I thought it might have to do something with this.
But then after noticing these weird hangups I'm thinking this pos is just overheating.
As I'm writing this everything is EXTREMELY slow I can't even open the task manager properly.

Hi. This is my first post and I am a self confessed novice, so I apologise if my question has been covered elsewhere (I tried a Search but couldn't see anything specific to my question).
I have a Dell XPS 1330, with a Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG adapter installed (as part of teh orginal build by Dell). The processor is an Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 2.00GHz Level 6 Revision 3853.
I have recently upgraded my home Wireless Router to a Netgear WNDR 3700, which is Draft N and Dual Band. I would now like to upgrade the adapter in my XPS1330 to take advantage of the N draft and Dual Band router.
Is this possible? If so, what new wireless card would you recommend which will be compatable with 1330.

I just installed Win7 RC 64-bit on my xps1330. Everything is working except the screen brightness setting.
Windows 7 screen brightness settings in power management act more like a switch than a slider. When set below a certain point, the screen either dims to a very low level and flickers, or turns off completely and the only way to restore it is to close the lid (sleep), and then wake the laptop.
The [func] + arrow keys also work erratically. As it stands, the screen can either be on full brightness, or very dimly lit and flickering, or off completely. Anyone else experiencing similar symptoms

I own a Studio 1557 that uses an adaptor with 19.5V/4.62A output.
The jack sizes are identical. Can we use each other's adaptors? My assumption is that I might get away with both but that my wife might damage her laptop with my adaptor due to the higher output.

My PA-10 ac adapter died a few months ago just out of warranty, it was powering at the mains for a while but it is totally dead now. I have finally decided I need a new charger however not sure what to get.
Do I need to go for the PA-10 again or can I get the newer slim PA-3E one instead?
Its just I have found the PA-3E on amazon.co.uk for a lot less than I can get the PA-10 either from Dell themselves or on eBay.

and so on. But I didn't change anything this is original power adaptor from the box.

Just this morning I was using my notebook (E1505) for my homework. Than I went to class, plugged it in and the light on the adaptor didnt come on.
I tried different outlets and the same thing.
I unwravelled my cord, and the problem seemed to go away, (for now)
I guess i need to replace my power adaptor.
How long do you think it will take to get a new one?
I have the highest warranty thing Dell offers

I'm using xps with vista home premium, suddenly, I was not able to connect to the internet via Huawei e220, I googled out and find some thing called rarepair.exe and I run it then in device manager see the picture.
Also the error 720 appear when I try to connect

I received my 1555 today and am absolutely over the moon. Trying to installing Windows 7 RC on at the moment and apart from some small hiccups - due to user erroor everything is going smoothly. BUT
From the moment I plugged in the a/c power adaptor I noticed that every so often it produces a buzzing noise? It happens every 20sec to 1min or so and last between 1sec to 10sec each time. Does anyone's do that? Not only that, it gets pretty hot as well, when I put my hand on it(on the label side) it feels really hot, in fact so hot that I have to take my hand off unless I 'made' myself stay there. Is this normal?

What are your experiences regarding how hot the adaptor gets? A couple of times now I've been viewing a flash video or what ever while browsing and have found that the 90W adaptor has gotten uncomfortably hot to the touch.
i mean it gets hot enough that the label on the back with the adaptor specs has begun to bubble in spots.

I have a new Acer Aspire 5315 Notebook, I've only had it about a month, and just a few days ago when I tried to plug in, as the batter was about to die, it wouldn't register that I was plugging it into the AC adapter. I can't get it to charge at all. I did notice that the small LED on the box on the AC adapter was coming on, so I know it's getting power, it just won't take power to the notebook, could someone tell me if there's a way to check if it's the adapter that's the problem?
It is still under warranty, so I called Acer support, and the guy wouldn't listen to me, he kept interrupting me just saying they'd send a new adapter. I just want to be sure that's the problem.

My laptop has been very happily connecting wirelessly for many years and all of a sudden in the last 2 days it is refusing to connect wirelessly saying there are no wireless networks. the wireless button is turned on and all other devices in the house connect. I have tried wired via an ethernet cable and all is fine. I have tried updating the driver and backing out to the previously installed driver and neither resolves the issue.

Is it normal that dell.ca would have fewer choices of screens than dell.com? I'm looking at the studio 15, and dell.com lists Hi Resolution/Bright,
glossy widescreen 15.4 WLED display (1440x900) as a choice, which is what I want, but dell.ca doesn't. When I view the system specs though, that choice is listed as on option.
