View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using Dell Insipron 15R 5520 Laptop Windows 7. Last few days I am getting a long beep sound after I pressed the power button and the Dell progress bar loads. And if I press power button, its turning off. Later I've pressed F8 key to login in Wiindows Normal Mode, its opening Windows. So every time i've to press F8 key to login. Sometimes the beep sound continues and not logging in normal mode or in Safe mode.
I thought it might be RAM issue and I checked 'System Settings' in Control Panel, it shows the usable RAM is 2.77GB of 8GB.
I went to Dell laptop service center near by my location and they said its keyboard problem, they charging too much amount to replace keyboard. but my keyboard is working properly.
My DELL n5110 (core i7) randomly makes a strange Single Beep, then a clicking sound which i think comes from it's bottom left corner, this happens while i'am normally operating it, with no error what so ever, and it continues work, nothing appears on the screen, no system notifications, nothing at all, just Single Beep, then a Clicking sound that comes from it's bottom left corner and lasts less than a second, that's it, it's not bothering me, but what is it !!!?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy laptop, an Inspiron 15R, will not turn on. When I press power button, it beeps 3 times. Owner manuel says 3 beep codes mean possible system board failure - chipset error. As luck would have it my warranty went out in December. Does this mean the hard drive on my computer has crashed?

Problem: For past one year it was working fine but now am facing shutdown issues. Same problem occurs when I put in sleep mode and hibernate mode.
I have a problem with my Dell Inspiron N5110. Its making a beep sound ( 5 in a row ) during system start up. Gradually the volume reduces and become very minute but still I am able to hear.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Dell 17r will not start and emits a constant, steady beeping. It is not the usual bright beep code, but more of a subdued, muffled beep. It is constant and never stops. There is no code.
I have tried all the other listed fixes or testing that has been posted in about 50 other threads. Powering off, pulling the battery, discharging the extra power, swapping memory around, etc etc.
The problem is slightly intermittent as it will sometimes boot normally. Diagnostics revealed nothing and reports everything is fine.
It doesn't appear heat related either as it can happen when dead cold after sitting for 3 days or after it has been working for an hour in diag mode.
I have dell Ispiron 1545.My problem is when I start my laptop it gives sound of beep.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI need to contact customer services regarding my daughter's Dell PC. It is three years old and out of warranty it is still in perfect condition otherwise as my 12 year old daughter has only used it for light use and it was working perfectly until the other day. Then it just wouldn't turn on and started beeping seven times. I have noted from this website and many others that there was a generic fault with the processor Inspiron M5030 so I was surprised that there has been no type of recall on the laptop.
My daughter is understandably upset as I cannot afford to buy a new laptop and when I bought the Dell I thought it was a good product and expected it to last considerably longer than it has. According to trading standards I am within my rights to go back to the manufacturer within in six years of purchase if the product should be expected to have a longer lifespan and is known to have a fault. However, I can't seem to send an email from this site.
I bought my Lenovo Y40 on the Lenovo Web site a couple months ago and recently, to turn on, I have to press the power button twice. When I press just once, the Lenovo`s logo is displayed on the screen, but after 2 seconds everything turns off. On the second trying, finally the laptop turns on and the windows is started.
In addition, rarely the laptop stucks on the lenovo`s logo screen, being necessary to hold on the power to reset it.
I purchased another Dell product in 2012 but use it so infrequently it's still relatively new in usage terms.
It worked just fine yesterday, but when I tried to turn it on today, I get 7 audio beeps and a black screen.
Using my desktop, I've searched on Dell and Google about the problem and it seems to be an overheating processor problem and also seems to be a well known defect that some people have gotten Dell to replace the motherboard even if the product is out of warranty.
After Updating my HP ENVY TouchSmart 15-j100ee from windows 8 to windows 8.1 and installing all the drivers [URL] ... num lock button has a beep sound and 1-9 buttons doesn't work. However, when I am clicking 9 (page up) page is moving up. So it's not because of buttons have problem it's some hardware issue.

From a cold state ( computer been off for a more then hour). I need to press the power button twice, Frist press the power button lights and the wireless lights and the screen activate with a glow, then black no lights and black screen press power button again and boots normally and fine No error or warnings
This does not seem to be normal and I can not remember the last time it booted from the first power button push.
I have an Aspire V5-572P-6454. Occasionally I accidentally hit the power button on the side of the computer and it makes my screen go black. I can't figure out how to get me screen back, thought it was a lighting issue and tried Fn and the left and right arrows, but that doesn't work. Usually end up rebooting and losing what I've been working on.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhile starting the notebook, it beeps, (short toned but continuous) and pressing Alt / Ctrl or function keys stops that noise , then system getting booted. In the login screen, in the password field automatically populated with "*" and entering correct password get into a windows.
Every key is working except 'p' and this sometimes works. But to my wonder, this key automatically getting typed in text areas frequently. it continuously prints that key whenever focus goes on the text area.
Laptop was working fine up until yesterday. Then this happened...
1. Pressed the power button to turn on the laptop
2.the fans run and the computer makes its usual whirring noises as it would normally do whilst booting up.
3.the screen however remains completely inactive. As if the laptop is off.
4. I turned it off and on again several times. Once it came on and worked as normal, I could access all files and backup everything.
5. This morning I turned it back on and it has done the same thing. Makes the sounds as normal but screen is inactive.
I have turned off and on again and connected an HDMI cable to an external screen but there is no signal.
My Inspiron 5421 won't start. I can hear the drive start and after a few seconds I get a 4-beep code (RAM read/write failure). The warranty expired about 6 months ago.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a T530 with an SSD, less than a year old, that appears to be bricked ... when the power button is pushed, there is absolutely no noise (no fan, no beeps) and no indicator lights.
I'm having trouble getting the "what happened" story out of the user but I heard something like "the battery ran out and now it won't start". I suspect some improper behavior like hauling the machine around when it was "sleeping" (not off) but that as they say is another story.
Elsenet I saw the following "one weird tip" to discharge static buildup (*)
* unplug power
* take out battery
* take out RAM
then a sequence where you pushed the power button 9x and on the 10th time held it for 30 seconds. Then plug power in and try again. No soap (although the ram is internal, not in the expansion slot, so I haven't disassembled the keyboard area to check).
I also unplugged the battery/power and held down the power button for one minute - still no luck
Swapped out power supply and battery - no luck
Only indications of "life" are the little battery icon on the top of the case (e.g. when computer is closed):
- Battery not installed - put power cord in, icon flashes green 3x, stops, but power button does not turn on
- Battery installed - put power cord in, icon flashes green 3x, flashes long orange 1x, flashes short green 1x more
Is there something else I can try or is this a "Call IBM/Get this guy a loaner"?
* laptop appears to be staticy, I have gotten a couple of "snaps" off it, and that doesn't regularly happen
My Dell Inspiron M5030 will not start-up when I turn on the power button the light come on, then I just get somecontinuous beeps with nothing displaying on the screen. The warranty on my Dell has expired. What are my options and what can I do to get my machine up and running.
View 7 Replies View Relatedcan't get my laptop to boot up/start. No sounds. No beeps. No nothing. Power cord indicates it is working fine. Battery should be charged since I rarely operate it under the battery. Has been running fine, no problems, I paused a movie and since then it is completely dark and not operating. Really disappointing since it is my main computer that I use every day.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Inspiron M5030 laptop was working perfectly fine last night. It was plugged in all night, and I had done the usual hibernate/sleep mode before going to bed. When I tried to start it up this morning, the screen remained black. It made the startup fan noise but then that stopped. Then it gave seven quite loud beeps. If I don't turn it off, it continues to give the seven beeps separated by a short break.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe hard drive went bad on my Inspiron M5030. I had made system recovery DVDs (Win7) when I first got it, so I replaced the hard drive and restored the system from the DVDs to the new hard drive. All went great, and Win 7 worked perfectly until I shut the system down (restarts work fine). After a shutdown, and upon startup, I get this error:
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
Choose your language settings, and then click "Next."
Click "Repair your computer."
If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.
Status: 0xc000000e
Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.
I have tried going in the bios and the system sees the new hard drive. I also tried all the Dell diagnostics (F12), and all passed, including the hard drive.
There is no option to "Repair" once I boot from the Recovery DVDs, only to restore the system completely, which I've done twice now with the same results.
It seems that the lack of a recovery partition on the new hard drive might be to blame? I don't know. I'm out of options at this point.
