View 7 Replies View RelatedI bought the Aspire E5-571 yesterday and i have been trying to connect to wifi with no luck what so ever. it runs windows 8.1 x64bit. i have updated the atheros network adapter to .285 provided on the acer drivers downloads section. but still no luck. wifi connections are shown but i cannot connect to them, i have bt infinity using the bt hub 4. i get as far as typing in the pass code for the router but then says it cannot connect. my other devices can connect (iPhone, laptop running win7). the only way for me to connect is to sit on my stairs using an ethernet cable.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy laptop just wont connect to the Wifi ! ...I installed a new hard drive a few months ago due to my origional being on the blink...I managed to install all the drivers etc and everything is working fine, except that is the Wifi, it has worked since however since moving house I have really struggled with it (it would connect on very rare occasions, for brief periods - although more recently will not connect whatsoever).
(It says that there is no drive for the Ethernet Controller however i was under the impression that this wouldnt hinder the wireless connection?)
I cant connect to internet via WiFi but i can connect using the internet cable. says can not connect to primary dns server.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to connect my notebook XPS 16 to connect to my Nokia E71 via bluetooth. I have installed Nokia PC Suite successfully latest version for WIN 7 x64.
Using a cable I am able to connect my phone with my laptop. But unable to connect to laptop using bluetooth. My laptop is able to find the phone and shows me in the list, but cant connect.
I gave it a whirl and it works like a charm here in France using Orange.
Here's the speed test results.
I had some trouble getting my iphone to connect via bluetooth to my mb, so this test was done via usb.
Will work out the bluetooth problem later, but for now its a nice backup for when no wi-fi is about.
No hacking/jailbreaking is required, yet I'm not quite sure how legal it all is so if the mods find this topic out of order feel free to delete.
I recently purchased an Acer Aspire 5515 Laptop. Has a built in Wireless card. It detects the hotspots with no problem. It connects to the available networks with no problem. But it will not connect to any internet service. Strange, but that is also what trouble shooter says. Connects to network, but not to internet, thus browser cannot resolve to any URL.
I even disabled firewall to see if it would help, but it will not.
Even has issues trying to network at home using ethernet cards. Detects, but will not connect.
I have an Acer laptop model 5736. The screen won't light up but I can connect a VGA cable to my tv and see that the computer is working. ( i typed this on it). The screen started acting up a month or two ago and I could close it or re-position it and it would come back on. Today it stopped altogether. I watched a couple of videos on youtube on downloading bios,but that didn't work for me. When i tried to run the bios it said my computer was 64 bit and didn't support the 32 bit bios.

I've tried changing ip adress, dns server, disabled/enabled network adapter and they've all worked but then connection is lost after a short amount of time (15-30 minutes) and i cannot get back on.I have not tried connecting to another network than my phones. She went to use it today and couldn't remember her password. I tried several but continue to get the same response... "Your PC is offline. Please sign in with the last password used on this PC". For some reason, it's not connecting to wifi, I have removed the battery, I have attempted "safe mode" with Alt f5, f8 and even f10 and I get nothing except back to the sign in screen. I tried ALT, CTRL, DLT and it does nothing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using Lenovo g500 for about a year now but last week there was some problem with my laptop and I had to restore windows using Lenovo's restore button. The windows restores just fine and I was able to update to Windows 8.1 althought all my data in C drive got wiped. But now my laptop won't connect to any Bluetooth device. Whenever I go to PC settings, it just says "searching for bluetooth devide but it never detects my phone or any other bluetooth devide.
Also, since my data got wiped, I have to install the drivers for my printer again but this laptop won't even recognize the CD!! It won't recognize ANY CD.
And the Lenovo Veriface won't work either now.I've searched and searched for these issues. I re-installed bluetooth drivers and lenovo veriface but they still don't work. And the bluetooth drivers never got deleted from my laptop since they were installed in Drive D but they don't. laptop won't install my printers drivers.
im unable to connect my bluetooth headphones to my pc.
the headphones are Plantronics BackBeat 903.
i have no problem connecting them to other computers, or cellphones for that matter.
when installing the Bluetooth driver, it says it doesnt find any bluetooth device, even though the headphones do run on looking for a device (or whatever it's called), but the laptop does not see them at all.
again, i dont have this issue with other computers.
plus, ive tried to install the latest bluetooth driver available on lenovo's site, but i cant finish it (have to cancel, it doesnt finish it without locating the device).
I have HP Envy 15-171nr notebook pc installed with Windows 8.1 pro. Since past 2 to 3 days I was not able to connect my mobile phone to the laptop through bluetooth. So I removed my phone from the paired device and again tried to pair it with my laptop, but I couldn't pair it. So I tried to reinstall the bluetooth driver from HP Recovery Manager. It was notified that the installation was successful but after that there is no bluetooth icon the PC Settings where I can switch on/off bluetooth. There is no bluetooth icon in the Device Manager as well.

View 3 Replies View RelatedJust wanted to share my upgrade experience with my Aspire 4736z. My model did not come with bluetooth installed from the factory and it only has 3 usb ports and I wanted to keep them as free as possible.
So I found a place that sells the bluetooth module and cable needed.
I installed the module and cable and everything works great. Installed the driver and now my bluetooth button works as it should.

View 5 Replies View Relatedi have had my laptop for a few wks now and keep tryin to work out whether it is bluetooth or not. if i press the bluetooth button on my laptop i see the message no device. last night i read notes to do with another laptop and followed the link to the acer website and tried to download the bluetooth drivers for my pc. when i downloaded the utility to my laptop i get the following msg "no bluetooth device was connected. please makesure that your bluetooth device is plugged in properly in order to continue installation" does this mean i need to physically plug something into my laptop or is my laptop not bluetooth afterall. how can i find out.

It has the light on the top right, unlit. Cannot find anything to do with bluetooth in control panel and when i google it i get crap.
I have the aspire 5740G. I use an external BT keyboard. When I shut down or restart, bluetooth is always switched off (indication light is not illuminated). I can not log on with my BT keyboard.
Once I am logged on (using Aspire keyboard), I have to manually push the bluetooth button (or Fn + F3) and everything works. I have turned the power-saving feature off, with no effect.
