Just a couple of days ago I bought a brand new acer aspire v13 (v-371) and we'll, I cannot connect to my hotspot wifi. I've tried changing ip adress, dns server, disabled/enabled network adapter and they've all worked but then connection is lost after a short amount of time (15-30 minutes) and i cannot get back on.I have not tried connecting to another network than my phones. I have windows 8.1.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought the Aspire E5-571 yesterday and i have been trying to connect to wifi with no luck what so ever. it runs windows 8.1 x64bit. i have updated the atheros network adapter to .285 provided on the acer drivers downloads section. but still no luck. wifi connections are shown but i cannot connect to them, i have bt infinity using the bt hub 4. i get as far as typing in the pass code for the router but then says it cannot connect. my other devices can connect (iPhone, laptop running win7). the only way for me to connect is to sit on my stairs using an ethernet cable.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy laptop just wont connect to the Wifi ! ...I installed a new hard drive a few months ago due to my origional being on the blink...I managed to install all the drivers etc and everything is working fine, except that is the Wifi, it has worked since however since moving house I have really struggled with it (it would connect on very rare occasions, for brief periods - although more recently will not connect whatsoever).

(It says that there is no drive for the Ethernet Controller however i was under the impression that this wouldnt hinder the wireless connection?)
I cant connect to internet via WiFi but i can connect using the internet cable. says can not connect to primary dns server.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased an Acer Aspire 5515 Laptop. Has a built in Wireless card. It detects the hotspots with no problem. It connects to the available networks with no problem. But it will not connect to any internet service. Strange, but that is also what trouble shooter says. Connects to network, but not to internet, thus browser cannot resolve to any URL.
I even disabled firewall to see if it would help, but it will not.
Even has issues trying to network at home using ethernet cards. Detects, but will not connect.

Also, I would like to set up Wifi Direct for file sharing with my Phone..I tired everything in my knowledge.. I even installed Intel PROSet/Wireless Tools Software too for Wifi HotSpot but it's not working either..

I purchased my daughter an Aspire One 725-0687 last Christmas. Â She only used it a couple months and it has sat around for the past 5 months with no use at all. Â She went to use it today and couldn't remember her password. Â I tried several but continue to get the same response... "Your PC is offline. Â Please sign in with the last password used on this PC". Â For some reason, it's not connecting to wifi, I have removed the battery, I have attempted "safe mode" with Alt f5, f8 and even f10 and I get nothing except back to the sign in screen. I installed additional RAM (Kingmax SODIMM 1024MB, DDRII533, CL4, PC4300), and after that - laptop after some time (may vary between 1 - 3hs, by room temperature and running processes, and if charger is attached or not) goes hot (at the place where ram is) and shutdowns by itself.
Here will be more detailed specs. (ask if there's something missing)
Could be the voltage wrong? As i said - it's totally new laptop, i think this wouldn't be a dust problem.
at BIOS - there is no voltage settings, and it doesn't show any temp, etc. I installed SpeedFan, it shows 35° for HDD and 50° for Temp1.
I just got HP pavilion 15-n209eia and the wifi doesn't detect hotspot and even if it does, it's not stable. What could be the issue and how do I fix it?

I have been using softwares like Connectify and MyPublicWifi for quite some time now for hotspots, but all of a sudden since yesterday I'm not able to connect to the hotspot from my Windows Phone 8.1 device. I tried connect an Android Phone that didn't work either. I kept recieving a notification saying "Wifi network did not respond. Try again later". It seems like its some problem from the laptop and not the devices trying to connect to it.I tried rebooting the laptop multiple times, uninstalling and reinstalling the hotspot softwares and even created a hotspot using CMD. Even after all this I keep recieving the same message of network not responding. I checked the network adapters for any hardware changes, the drivers showed that they were functioning properly. I'm trying to share the internet from Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller.
I was happily connecting to my home wifi yesterday evening before my HP Pavilion g7 notebook updated to windows 8.1. Now I can only connect via ethernet cable.

I phoned Microsoft Support and was told that my wifi driver was out of date and that this needs to reinstalled. I have had a look at available downloads for network drivers but I am unsure how to establish which one I need.... there are 4 options.

Under Device Manager > Network Adapters, there was only one driver which needed update according to this. The Realtek PCle  FE Family Controller. When I checked for updates here is said that it had updated successfully, but I am STILL unable to connect to the internet.

It was still fine when I downloaded windows 8.1 but all of a sudden displays limited/no connectivity. I tried everything I can including resetting tcp ip settings thru command prompt, finding other drivers till someone suggested me to put my laptop back to windows 8. Still didn't fix the problem. Now, my laptop does not access wifi nor detect any wireless connection whether our home wifi, or others.

I have had this laptop for a few months now but have never really had to use WiFi - now I need WiFi I find the laptop will not connect to my router, it also displays no WiFi networks. I have opened Device Manager/Network Adapters and the wireless adapter is apparently up to date and working correctly. The adapter is a Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11b/g/n Wi Fi Adapter. The laptop is just a few paces away from the router so should easily receive the signal, my Android shows the router signal strength at 100% with a speed of 150Mbps. Why the laptop will not connect to WiFi ....

I am using HP probook 4440s.
Before I start I know exactly what a RC version of the OS is and that it is expected to have bugs and other annoyance, as well as no official driver support etc.
But wondering if anybody has a fix to this problem:
The laptop is an Acer Aspire 5044 WLMi, 1.8ghz Turion, 1.5GB Ram, 80GB HDD. Windows 7 has installed correctly and is running. Drivers for all the hardware have been successfully installed and the laptop is running just as well as a Windows XP fresh install.
Only problem is that although the Wireless Card (Atheros AR5005G) is showing as functioning correctly in Device manager, the laptop is not picking up the wireless network in our house even, no matter where I take the laptop to................

Have tried cycling the (F3) wifi switch, checked updated drivers. Router is fine and was reset several times. The screen started acting up a month or two ago and I could close it or re-position it and it would come back on. Today it stopped altogether. This has never happen to me before and I don't know what to do. Today I did a system restore to a few days ago when it was working just fine... nothing happened.. I tried to press the button on the keyboard to turn the wireless adapter on and that didn't work either. I really need this computer at least for a couple more months for my school work.
