I am having a Acer E1-571 windows 8 laptop. Since after a recent upgradation to windows 8.1 my wifi is showing limited connectivity. But other devices connected to this router (D-Link) is having internet. My wireless adapter is Broadcom 802.11 adapter.
View 9 RepliesJust bought an Acer Aspire E15 and have been setting it up today and managed to get connected to the internet through the wi-fi however I have noticed that the wifi keeps dropping and leaves me with nothing and then I have to manually go in and select the router again. This is happening all the time, I am on the internet for no longer than 2 mins before I get the unable to access the network. There is no problem with the network it just seems to be my new laptop. I looked this up and was told to change the power management settings and did so and am still have the same problem. I also updated the driver and again am still having the problem. Also tried ipconfig /flushdns and again the problem persists!

Initially on starting laptop, Wifi get connected automatically.. But after 5-10 minutes it shows LIMITED Connectivity.When I turn ON Flight mode and then OFF it, it gets back to full connection.But, after sometime it goes back to LIMITED. This keeps on happening.I've tried installing various versions of Broadcom & Intel WLAN Adapter Drivers!. Still no success!I called HP Support but, they told me that they can't do anything as I'm on Windows 8.1. They said me to rollback to Windows 8 and I don't want to do so. "Download over metered connections" is also set ON... (While writing this post Wifi went into limited connectivity once!)

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have got a new Dell Inspiron 3521 i5 with 4GB RAM - 64 bit OS - Windows 7 - Service Pack 1 Laptop, everything works good except, the problem with my Wi-Fi Connectivity.
The issue I'm experiencing is with the Internet connectivity, my Wi-Fi connectivity loses frequently and I get message saying "Limited Access", and gives me an option to reconnect it manually which is a bit disappointing. .
Rest all works pretty fine, I'm satisfied about it. Just this error, disappoints me.
The troubleshooting I have tried so far is -
1) Resetting router for 30 seconds and restarting it - did not fix my problem.
2) Checking firewall settings - did not fix my problem either.
3) Tried virus check as well, but no fix so far.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an ideapad z500 which I'm happy for, but it annoys me that when 'm at my college I can't properly connect to the wi-fi the school has. When I connect, I'm on for usually about half an hour, but then I get the "limited connection" yellow triangle and I have to deactivate the networkcard before I can get a normal connection.
Other times I simply just can't connect, it tries but it fails. When it does, I have to reboot the computer before it succeeds, and that's no good when you are working on a project. At home i have no problems, it works nicely.
Also, how to enable the WiDi on the z500.
My PC is running Win 8 with the Intel Centrino n2230, Intel 3rd. gen i7 (3632qm)
Its been quite a while (3 months ) that ive upgraded my windows 8 to 8.1 . I didn't bother checking it till now that I cannot connect to any ethernet network at all. Ive tried evrything from disabling ipv6, updating network drivers and even resetting the routers like a gazillion times but i've had no such luck in any of the process ive done so far .

This happens on different routers and ISP's and i have updated the drivers from Acer support site with no avail. the issues happens about one a week to fortnightly and i have tried several reinstalls but nothing changes.

It will show as "limited" and when I click to reconnect it shows I have no internet available. I've run the diagnostics when that has happened and it tells me there is an issue with the wireless card. I can shut the computer down and restart then it's working fine. This has been happening about once a day.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have several Latitude E7240's on our network. They are configured with Windows 7 x64. We have been having trouble with this particular model in regards to wireless connections.
When the laptop is powered on and the user logs in, the laptop connects to the wireless network, however it is not getting an IP address from the router. It sticks at "limited connectivity", and gives itself a "169" IP. It stays that way for about 5 or so minutes then finally connects.
The WLAN drivers are already to the latest version, and to "bandaid" the issue, I have to uninstall the Wireless NIC drivers then reinstall them.
At first I was thinking it may be a router issue (Which is a Sonicwall TZ210W), but it can't be because its wireless devices of differing models have no problem connecting and getting an IP address. Also, it starts working once the drivers are reinstalled (though I'm not confident this is a permanent fix).
All the E7240's have the Dell 1506 Wireless card, and are all and originally were) on driver version 10.0.0.268, A02. Also, I have tried turned off any power management settings of the WNIC prior to the driver reinstall.

My network card is on the fritz, to put it simply. I randomly lose internet access, and my network connection is listed as "Limited Access". Sometimes turning off the adapter and turning it back on solves the problem, but sometimes I need to do a full reboot. My system is the only one affected, so I know its not the router. I have already viewed the similar threads and tried the methods advised with no success.
So far I have:
-Updated my drivers
-Disabled Broadcom Bluetooth service at startup
-Disabled Hybrid Sleep
-Told Windows not to shut the network card off.
I did a System Refresh last week and that's when the problem started.
I`m trying to upgrade my 5613 wifi.
Ordered a new Atheos mini pci card.
After installing the new card the computer says "no wireless device"..
I cant turn on the wifi card from the button on the front.
Tried to update both drivers and bios without any luck.
Changed back to the old card, and this has also the same problem now!
Tried to delete device in device manager and do a new installation...
Still the same.....
So now I cant get my wifi to work!
Anyone knows if its possible to upgrade the wifi on a 5613 to N?
I should like to upgrade myIntel 3945 ABG WiFi Card To an Intel 4965AGN card.
a) Is this possible
b) Is the card easy to get to
c)Is it simply a case of unplugging the old card and plugging in the new card, followed by running the drivers.

I've had issues with the wireless for some time, where it would suddenly lose connectivity and I would have to reboot for it to find any wireless networks. Yesterday, however, it lost connectivity again, and now is unable to connect even after several reboots.
The wifi switch is on and lights up. Acer eNet manager tells me there are no wireless networks, whereas Windows Vista's network manager tells me that I'm either a) Connected to my wireless network but with a limited connection or b) Not connected at all, but wireless networks (including my own) are available. It always fails to connect. My wireless router is a Dlink DIR-615.
I've tried inputting the WEP key again, no results. I've tried rolling back the wireless device driver (to 11.1.0.86), no results.
My husband has an identical laptop, with an identical setup, and everything works just fine for his laptop.
I did nothing out of the ordinary last night when this happened - no settings were changed, etc. The only thing I did do that I don't do every day, was that I ran the disk cleanup manager, and it cleaned out a few temp files, but I thought that this was a harmless operation...
Before I start I know exactly what a RC version of the OS is and that it is expected to have bugs and other annoyance, as well as no official driver support etc.
But wondering if anybody has a fix to this problem:
The laptop is an Acer Aspire 5044 WLMi, 1.8ghz Turion, 1.5GB Ram, 80GB HDD. Windows 7 has installed correctly and is running. Drivers for all the hardware have been successfully installed and the laptop is running just as well as a Windows XP fresh install.
Only problem is that although the Wireless Card (Atheros AR5005G) is showing as functioning correctly in Device manager, the laptop is not picking up the wireless network in our house even, no matter where I take the laptop to................
i had purchased a Lenovo y500 about a month back. I have WiFi issues when i put the laptop on sandby and then start up.When the laptop starts after stand by it sometimes shows no networks available which usually gets solved after turning wifi on and off or turnig airplane mode on and off.
although sometimes it will show the wifi network but will be unable to connect and sometimes will connect and drop within a few mins after which it wont show any networks. these issues are more frequent when on battery than charging.
I have unticked the "turn off to save power" option in the network adapter setting.happens with Bluetooth turned off also drivers are updated to latest

I recently bought "HP Pavilion 15-p077tx Notebook PC". I installed windows server 2008 r2 as secondary OS. I'm unable to connect to wifi from sever 2008 r2 as there are no wifi drivers installed. Whether there are wifi drivers available for windows server 2008 r2 for this laptop. Also provide usb drivers if available.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell XPS M1530 laptop and suddenly it started showing a pecular behavior. Wifi works properly when the laptop runs on battery. The moment I connect the adapter and power the mains on, it looses the connectivity and it newer shows any wifi connections available. If I remove the power adapter from the laptop, wifi starts working again.
I verified by connecting another power adapter and saw the same problem. Condition is same with another wifi connection also.
Just a couple of days ago I bought a brand new acer aspire v13 (v-371) and we'll, I cannot connect to my hotspot wifi. I've tried changing ip adress, dns server, disabled/enabled network adapter and they've all worked but then connection is lost after a short amount of time (15-30 minutes) and i cannot get back on.I have not tried connecting to another network than my phones. I have windows 8.1.

Have tried cycling the (F3) wifi switch, checked updated drivers. Router is fine and was reset several times. The laptop will not detect any wifi network (all are seen by several other phones and computers). Is this a broken antenna?
