Dell Inspiron 5521 :: WiFi Disconnects More Often Or Connection Go In Limited State
Feb 15, 2013
I have Dell Inspiron 5521 bought recently. My WiFi is get disconnected intermittently. Connection would go in Limited state sometimes or would disconnect completely for sometime.
I have other laptops on the network and they don't disconnect. Im on my home network. Whats wrong with the network adapter?
I have an Ideapad Y510 that has Vista and I'm having a problem connecting to the internet. I have other computers running in the house (this one I'm now typing on) so my internet is working correctly just not on my laptop. The laptop was working and connecting but something happened and now it says that I have limited access to the internet.
I read that it may not be getting an IP address assigned to it. I called my internet provider and they ran through their troubleshooting steps but figured it was in the computer. I don't know if the driver has been corrupted. I got the software CD that came with it and tried to load it again but it didn't work (not sure if I did it correctly).
I am having problems with my Wifi on my HP Pavilion Notebook 15 (Product number: G2H02PA#ACJ)I Have Windows 8.1 and as well as Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn Wi-Fi Adapter. My Wifi Connection Is Showing LIMITED Connectivity. I have already complained about my problem on HP Phone Support. But i did not get any solution for my problem. Technician has re-installed wifi driver and Bios but did not get any solution. Customer Support has sent me some links for driver update but did not got any solution again.I've tried installing various versions of Ralink WLAN Adapter Drivers!. Still no success!I am writing this post from my other laptop as my wifi router is working properly on other devices!
I have been having some issues with the WiFi lately. Whenever i turn on the laptop, the internet conection is limited. i have to run the Windows troubleshooting every time i turn on my laptop to fix this.
I updated the Wifi drivers through Windows Update but the problem persist. What can i do to fix this?
I have an ideapad z500 which I'm happy for, but it annoys me that when 'm at my college I can't properly connect to the wi-fi the school has. When I connect, I'm on for usually about half an hour, but then I get the "limited connection" yellow triangle and I have to deactivate the networkcard before I can get a normal connection.
Other times I simply just can't connect, it tries but it fails. When it does, I have to reboot the computer before it succeeds, and that's no good when you are working on a project. At home i have no problems, it works nicely.
Also, how to enable the WiDi on the z500.
My PC is running Win 8 with the Intel Centrino n2230, Intel 3rd. gen i7 (3632qm)
Trying to resolve why laptop pc disconnects frequently from its wireless connection. No discernable pattern to disconnects, totally random. Happens in cycles of disconnect/auto reconnect or will go hours of stable operation. What I have noticed is tht the connection speed seems to vary, from a hig of 54.0 Mbps to as low as 2.0 Nbps. At same time the desktop pc (hard wired to modem) stays connected at 100 Mbps.
Using RCA modem, WRT 160n v3 router. Inspirion 1545 pc
I bought an Inspiron 15 7000 series about a week ago. From the very beginning, the wifi is not working properly. It takes too much time to connect and also disconnects automatically frequently. Sometimes it shows only limited connectivity. I have updated the drivers but no change so far. All other devices in home are working properly.
I have just received my new Inspiron 15R which I cannot fault, even after the minefield of getting to grips with Windows 8.........However for some reason my wifi connection will be stable for about 10 minutes and then show limited connection with no internet access although the network connection is very good! All other laptops and devices are still connected!
I have got a new Dell Inspiron 3521 i5 with 4GB RAM - 64 bit OS - Windows 7 - Service Pack 1 Laptop, everything works good except, the problem with my Wi-Fi Connectivity.
The issue I'm experiencing is with the Internet connectivity, my Wi-Fi connectivity loses frequently and I get message saying "Limited Access", and gives me an option to reconnect it manually which is a bit disappointing. .
Rest all works pretty fine, I'm satisfied about it. Just this error, disappoints me.
The troubleshooting I have tried so far is -
1) Resetting router for 30 seconds and restarting it - did not fix my problem.
2) Checking firewall settings - did not fix my problem either.
My XPS just arrived yesterday, and i am having lots of trouble with the wireless connection. I have tried being close and far from my wireless box and it doesnt fix the problem. My connection is great when its working, but it disconnects for about 20 seconds very often. Its extremely anoying, and I dont want to have to return this laptop as I really like it. Is there a location where I can update my notebook to hopefully resolve the problem?
Our Insprion 15 laptop initially dropped its WiFi connection (showed "No Internet Access") about 3-4 times when it was first turned on. It hasn''t happened since (3 days in use). Was this just normal - while looking for the right version of 801.1 or what?
I'm having an issue with my wifi connection, it keeps dropping without an apparent reason.
It's a Dell Inspiron 5748-10001.
I have updated the wireless drivers Dell [Wireless 1704 WiFi + Bluetooth Driver] to this version Network_Driver_D1DJJ_WN_6.30.223.181_A00, but it still doesn't seem to work.
I don't know if it's related but I can't seem to install [Dell Wireless 1705 WiFi + Bluetooth Driver] Network_Driver_HP06Y_WN_10.0.0.276_A00, the installation is always a failure.
The Wifi on this laptop keeps either dropping connection, or changing to a "limited" network. Sometimes it works fine, but more often than not it drops out. All other wifi enabled devices in my house work fine, so I know it's not the internet. I've also tested on two other networks where the same dropping out occurs.
Windows 8 64 Bit Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 (up to date)
Since getting my Acer switch 10 i have suffered limited connectivity issues on the device, this then states there are no access points available and then will not resolve itself until i restart the device. This happens on different routers and ISP's and i have updated the drivers from Acer support site with no avail. the issues happens about one a week to fortnightly and i have tried several reinstalls but nothing changes.
My wifi disconnects many times a day. Every other day the wifi adapter cannot find any router signals at all. It's been happeneing since new. I gave up on HP support as they never fixed ths issue and now the warranty has run out. At any rate I can get along by turning Wifi off/on when it drops connection, and rebooting the laptop when the adapter fails completely. Many posts indicate that a new adapter fixes the issue, but HP won't approve one. Naturally I am not going to buy HP again.
That is, the wifi connection randomly disconnects and reconnects, which is especially annoying when she is on MSN or whenever she is logged on to a HTTPS site (she has to log in again on the next refresh).
maybe Acer has a new driver for the 5100?
the OS installed is the factory Vista (with the usual bloatware - I deleted most of them). Can deleting certain Acer bloatware cause wifi issues?
I purchased the Lenovo Z580 laptop last month. It is a very good laptop, very silent and well built. Coupled with Windows 8 (64 bit), its a very new experience all together, especially the uptime after restart, connectivity etc. Superfast!
I've been traveling around the world offlate and after I was back home recently, uunfortunately, I'm facing a wired problem with the Wifi since then.
Nature of the problem: After restart, sleep, turn PC on:
1/ Wifi shows full signal status at the start screen. 2/ I enter password to login and it takes to W8 start screen. I then goto the desktop mode. 3/ When I launch a browser I can't connect to internet but the wifi status says 'Internet access'. But after few seconds, I see grey wireless symbol (without any signal bar) with a star on the left corner of the wifi symbol (Not connected mode). 4/ The network I connect to is no longer visible. Only 2 networks are detected. One is an open network and the other one is a different network. Usually several networks are within the range when I'm connected to my network. 5/ After 4-5 minutes, everything becomes normal i.e. the wifi adapter connects to the network.
I've tried router/modem power cycle, disable/enable wireless network adapter and they haven't solved the problem yet. Also noticed something in the Wi-Fi Status (wireless adapter settings window) accessed via Control Panel. Speed initially was 39.0Mbps and eventually changes to 72.0Mbps, drops to 65.0Mbps...
I don't have this problem with the other laptop and tablet I own.
My brand new Flex 2 14 periodically disconnects from the network on Wi-Fi. This is pretty unacceptable. Other PC's in the house are not experiencing the problem, so it's difficult to blame the router.,
I have a Broadcom 802.11N Network Adapter device with driver version 6.30.223.201, which is the latest on the Lenovo site. I am running Windows 8.1, as provided on the system. I've installed Windows updates and some other software, but have not otherwise changed the OS.
I have seen other users with similar problems, but no fixes for Broadcom.
I'm having trouble with my wifi connection on my SXPS 16 with the Intel Wifi 5300 card.
I will be downloading something then at random times it looses connectivity and i will have to turn off my wifi and turn it back on then it works for a couple minutes and stops working once again.
It can detect and "connect" to my wifi, however the moment i try to enter a webpage, it disconnects and doesn't work. So basically, the wifi doesn't work. I have checked the drivers and i'm 99% sure they're updated.
I just bought a new Aspire V15 Nitro Black Edition VN7-591G-74LK. I found the WIFI (Atheros AR5BWB222) disconnects every time the CPU/Fan is in full load or nearly full load. Once the CPU/Fan utilization is low, the WiFi connection recovers.

This keeps on happening.I've tried installing various versions of Broadcom & Intel WLAN Adapter Drivers!. Still no success!I called HP Support but, they told me that they can't do anything as I'm on Windows 8.1. They said me to rollback to Windows 8 and I don't want to do so. "Download over metered connections" is also set ON... (While writing this post Wifi went into limited connectivity once!)
I have yoga 2 13 model name 20344 and my wifi connection gets limited on random time, I have installed . 2012.4.1022.2013 driver, these are latest available drivers.
I am having problems with my Wifi on my HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 (Product number: D2H26EA#ABD)I updated from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 and as well as Qualcomm Atheros QCA9000 Series Wireless LAN Driver for Microsoft Windows by the suggestion of Hp support Assistance. After that started facing Wifi problems. Initially on starting laptop, Wifi get connected automatically.. But after 5-10 minutes it shows LIMITED Connectivity. Just bought an Acer Aspire E15 and have been setting it up today and managed to get connected to the internet through the wi-fi however I have noticed that the wifi keeps dropping and leaves me with nothing and then I have to manually go in and select the router again. This is happening all the time, I am on the internet for no longer than 2 mins before I get the unable to access the network. There is no problem with the network it just seems to be my new laptop. I looked this up and was told to change the power management settings and did so and am still have the same problem. I also updated the driver and again am still having the problem. Also tried ipconfig /flushdns and again the problem persists!
I am having a Acer E1-571 windows 8 laptop. Since after a recent upgradation to windows 8.1 my wifi is showing limited connectivity. But other devices connected to this router (D-Link) is having internet. My wireless adapter is Broadcom 802.11 adapter.
On my T540p, I configured the rapid start technology according to [URL] ....
Since I have performed a BIOS update to 2.14 and an update of the Intel Wifi driver to 17.0.5, I experience the problem of battery drain when the computer is in S4 sleep state, at a rate of approximately 0.125% per hour (on the 56Wh battery).
This was not the case before these updates. There was no noticable power drain in S4 sleep state, even not over multiple days. I'm using Win7, I set all the WoL capabilities both in BIOS and in the Intel driver to disabled, according to [URL] ....
External device USB charge settings are also fully disabled in BIOS and Power Manager. The problem does not occur when the system is fully shut down, but in S4 Sleep state, which should be a zero-power state too, as it was before the updates. In the details of the BIOS update it is stated " Fixed an issue where the computer might fail to enter sleep state". Could the power drain be a side effect of this fix? Or is it an issue with the (new) Wifi driver, as it was the case for the Y410P?
