HP Envy M6 N012dx Networking :: How To Set Up WiFi Tethering Hotspot And WiFi Direct

I have been using internet from various sources, but now I want to share internet from my HP Envy M6 n012dx TouchSmart via Wifi Hotspot.. So How do I set up a Wifi Tethering Hotspot connection so that other devices can leech internet from me?
Also, I would like to set up Wifi Direct for file sharing with my Phone..I tired everything in my knowledge.. I even installed Intel PROSet/Wireless Tools Software too for Wifi HotSpot but it's not working either..
By the way, I'm using Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160..

I just got HP pavilion 15-n209eia and the wifi doesn't detect hotspot and even if it does, it's not stable. What could be the issue and how do I fix it?

OS: Windows 8 (although default OS is Windows 7)
WiFi Adapter: Ralink RT5390 b/g/n WiFi adapter
I have been using softwares like Connectify and MyPublicWifi for quite some time now for hotspots, but all of a sudden since yesterday I'm not able to connect to the hotspot from my Windows Phone 8.1 device. I tried connect an Android Phone that didn't work either. I kept recieving a notification saying "Wifi network did not respond. Try again later". It seems like its some problem from the laptop and not the devices trying to connect to it.I tried rebooting the laptop multiple times, uninstalling and reinstalling the hotspot softwares and even created a hotspot using CMD. Even after all this I keep recieving the same message of network not responding. I checked the network adapters for any hardware changes, the drivers showed that they were functioning properly. I'm trying to share the internet from Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller.

I have an hp envy m6 laptop. I can not get it to connect to my wifi connection the modem/router are in the same room as the laptop but yet no connection I called Twc (ISP) and no problem on their end.&l;The funny thing is all my other devices (ps3,4,iPhone iPod you name it it picks up the connection) when I use an Ethernet Cable with my laptop but I obviously got to stay In one spotAlso before I forget all all hp/ windows updates have been done so it is current

I bought my HP 15 a few days ago and since yesterday (after I restarted it) it can't find my network. Also, sometimes it finds all the surrounding networks, sometimes one or two, sometimes none of them, but it never shows mine.
All my other devices connect to the network just fine and also when I connect the laptop via Ethernet cable internet works normally. I tried reinstalling the adapter and driver, but nothing happens, the problem is still here.

How do I turn on Wifi with my Envy m6 1117TX laptop? A few days ago, a technician from a mobile wireless provider told me how to turn it off but now I have access to a Wifi connection and I can't remember how to turn it on. I've spent all day trying to find any information on this at all and have come to the conclusion that HP has easily the worst support system for simple questions of any company I've ever encountered.

I recently purchased a PC Hp Envy 17 j106sf and the wifi connection does not work correctly.The wifi speed used to be over 20Mb/s on my old computer and is now under 2Mb/s. The Ethernet works perfectly fine. The wifi card is a Ralink RT3290 802. 11bgn Wi-Fi Adapter. How can I fix my wifi ?

HP ENVY 15-3247nr Notebook PC Windows 8.1 update 1 x64Installed latest drivers available for this model.When I turn it on and I get this [URL] bluetooth adapters. Wifi is off. Wifi button is unresponsive. I have to restart (not shutdown) so I could get: [URL] Bluetooth adapter is present. Wifi its connected automatically. Button its on white color.
Wifi is detected at windows final setup install with native drivers but same happens. Windows update also found a new update on Centrino Advanced-N 6235 drivers. Same problem.Its like something at startup is not loaded but loads successfully on restart.I'm truly puzzled here.

I have an HP Envy m6 laptop with a Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.1b/g/n WiFi Adapter.
I have a Belkin DB600 N+ router.
All the phones and pc's on the wifi are fine and picking up the N-band.
My laptop is not. I have Windows 8.1 installed in it. My laptop is running fine on the g-band, and it's seeing all the b and g bands, just not the n-band.
I've updated my wifi adapter driver through the "Update Driver" option on the adapter, and I've also uninstalled and rebooted my wifi adapter driver (to have it reset to the original driver). It's still not picking up the n-band.

I just got a brand new HP Envy. However, i have not been able to maintain a wifi connection. Usually it will not connect to my wifi or will only connect for a few minutes and then say 'limited' and then not connect at all. I did the full windows updates for the computer. I updated the drivers for the wifi adapter. I updated the firmware to my router. I also uninstalled norton. None of these have worked, still will not connect or will connect and drop within a few minutes. My system information is as follows:

The network is running fine, i just cannot figure out what the problem is with this HP Envy.

I just got my new HP ENVY laptop. Product Name: m6-k025dx. It runs on Windows 8 64-bit. I am experiencing sudden, frequent loss of my Wifi connection. When it gets disconnected I don't even get the Connect To slider (which slides from the right side of the screen and shows the list of networks) on clicking the network button at bottom right corner of the screen. I need to restart my laptop to get connected again and after 5-7 minutes, I lose it again.
editing the Power Plan to maximum performance and unchecking "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" but nothing seems to work.
The network driver is Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230. I have also updated the driver and turned off Bluetooth and ethernet

Whenever i turn on my laptop it connects to the wi-fi for a brief period of time and then disconnects and i have to reconnect to the network manually. after doing this, it takes an extremely long time to autoconnect and says "connecting to the network is taking longer than usual".
I have the "Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 2230" Wi-Fi Card/Adapter and the Driver version is "15.10.3.2" i'm not sure if this is the newest version but i have tried to update and wasn't able to successfully do so.
Also this occurs on any wifi i connect to, even wi-fi that i connect to for the first time takes an extremely long time to connect (2-5 mins).

I have an HP Envy 17-j053ea Notebook running Windows 8.1 64bit. It has an Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 network adapter. I am guessing from other posts that this adapter can't handle Windows 8.1 which is why I am continuously losing my wifi connection (other devices not running Windows 8.1 are fine). Is there an update or another driver? installing it and making it work on my notebook?

I have HP Envy M6 1225 dx. The Ralink wifi driver provided with it served me well till a year. But now, i don't due to windows update or something else, i'm having problem with it. Sometimes, the driver works well, but most and most of the time, windows have problem with the driver. It, either mentions " driver or hardware related problem" while i troubleshoot it, or sometimes it doesn't even detect the device in device manager. I even tried reinstalling the driver by the driver which i was provided with the laptop bt the same problem still persists. I'd like to know whether the windows updates is disturbing it because once i'd found the Ralink wifi driver update on the windows update list which had created problem and i uninstalled it. Now i cant find that driver update in the windows updates list.

I am running Windows 8.0 (64bit) and my wifi is not working properly on Battery mode. On AC Adapter, it works 100% perfect but in battery mode, it always goes to Limited Connectivity. Repaired it but 25seconds later it gets the same problem. Limited Connectivity every single time. It's an endless cycle. Warranty has expired and I am not happy with it.
Even if repaired, cannot open any website. Full 5 wifi bars but still the same result. Tried manually (TCP/IP Settings IPv4) but didnt work at all.
My wifi driver is Intel Centrino Wireless N 2230 ( 15.12.0.6 version updated from intel.com website).

Tried everything that I could possibly think off such as disabling Norton Firewall & Running windows firewall but still the same problem.

Just a couple of days ago I bought a brand new acer aspire v13 (v-371) and we'll, I cannot connect to my hotspot wifi. I've tried changing ip adress, dns server, disabled/enabled network adapter and they've all worked but then connection is lost after a short amount of time (15-30 minutes) and i cannot get back on.I have not tried connecting to another network than my phones. I have windows 8.1.

My HP Envy m6 laptop cannot connect to our wifi connection and only connects using the cable connection, ethernet.
It was still fine when I downloaded windows 8.1 but all of a sudden displays limited/no connectivity. I tried everything I can including resetting tcp ip settings thru command prompt, finding other drivers till someone suggested me to put my laptop back to windows 8. Still didn't fix the problem. Now, my laptop does not access wifi nor detect any wireless connection whether our home wifi, or others.

Have just bought a HP-15-G094SA laptop (15.6" laptop with Windows 8.1). Whenever I close the laptop lid, I lose the wifi connectivity.
I have checked Power Settings to make sure wifi adapter remains enabled at all times. Have also gone to Control Panel --> network and sharing --> change adapter settings --> right click on connected wifi network ---> properties --> configure --> power management --> untick allow computer to turn off this device to save power.Would like to use the laptop with lid closed by pluggin it through my TV via HDMI cable, but can't because of the loss of wifi.

My HP 14-d010AU can not detect wifi. Its wifi type is 802.11 (I don't know about b/g/n type, it's not mentioned). Windowws 8 OS.

I tried to install a wireless driver, REALTEK RTL8188EE 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN Driver. I downloaded it from HP website, but when I installed it, it couldn't be installed. I tried another programs (MediaTek (Ralink) 802.11 WLAN Adapter and MediaTek 802.11 WLAN Adapter Driver) but the same problem was still happening.
By the way, I've updated the BIOS and it didn't work. And I found out that my HP doesn't have Microsoft Kernel Debug Network Adapter. Does Microsoft Kernel Debug Network Adapter matter?

recently purchased the HP 15 Notebook PC having Windows 8.1 OS. When I setup the laptop initially and was trying to configure the machine it detected my home WiFi...however i skipped the step as I didnt remember the password.
I configured it on Ethernet and it worked fine.
when I tried to setup the WiFi later, it doesnt show any WIFI networks. The Wifi light on my keypad is on indicating its active but no wfi network visible. I tied restarting the laptop and my Wifi router but it didn't work.
