Lenovo G500 B / G Series :: Laptop Won't Connect To Any Bluetooth Device
Dec 30, 2014
I have been using Lenovo g500 for about a year now but last week there was some problem with my laptop and I had to restore windows using Lenovo's restore button. The windows restores just fine and I was able to update to Windows 8.1 althought all my data in C drive got wiped. But now my laptop won't connect to any Bluetooth device. Whenever I go to PC settings, it just says "searching for bluetooth devide but it never detects my phone or any other bluetooth devide.
Also, since my data got wiped, I have to install the drivers for my printer again but this laptop won't even recognize the CD!! It won't recognize ANY CD.
And the Lenovo Veriface won't work either now.I've searched and searched for these issues. I re-installed bluetooth drivers and lenovo veriface but they still don't work. And the bluetooth drivers never got deleted from my laptop since they were installed in Drive D but they don't. laptop won't install my printers drivers.
I own a Lenovo G500s notebook, OS is Windows 8.1 and I have been experiencing Bluetooth issues ever since I updated to 8.1. I have some Bose bluetooth speakers I'd like to connect, but everytime I do so something goes wrong:the connection takes extremely longthe pc settings tell me there is a driver issue and the speakers do not connect at all my browser (google chrome) crashes/freezes and only unfreezes when I turn off Bluetoothafter a few minutes, the sound coming from the speakers is 'chopped up' like a bad phone connectionI've searched everywhere for a solution, but have not had any success so far. The device I believe causing the problem is Qualcomm Atheros AR3012 Bluetooth 4.0 + HS, for which I think I don't have a proper driver installed, but the system itself says it's the most recent one when I let it search for updates automatically. I can't find a more recent one myself as well.
I had an error code 43, then I uninstalled the driver, rebooted my computer and I can't see it in the device manager anymore. What should I do ? It was previously listed as a Lenovo VHID device, but I can't see that in the device manager either. It also doesn't show up as an unknown device.
I have little knowledge of computer hardware, and I'd like to know what this driver does and what happens if I don't have it, and how do I reinstall it.
im unable to connect my bluetooth headphones to my pc.
the headphones are Plantronics BackBeat 903.
i have no problem connecting them to other computers, or cellphones for that matter.
when installing the Bluetooth driver, it says it doesnt find any bluetooth device, even though the headphones do run on looking for a device (or whatever it's called), but the laptop does not see them at all.
again, i dont have this issue with other computers.
plus, ive tried to install the latest bluetooth driver available on lenovo's site, but i cant finish it (have to cancel, it doesnt finish it without locating the device).
Just received my Thinkpad W520 4270 CTO with bluetooth installed. It was a DOS workstation that I installed Win 7 x64 Ultimate on and I finally got all the drivers installed but the bluetooth software says there is no BT device connected to my laptop. I checked the BIOS settings and confirmed the BT is enabled. I even disabled it, saved, then enabled it to toggle. Hitting the Fn+5 combo doesn't trigger the light or any "Found New Hardware." When the laptop first boots up the BT light flashes along with the wifi light and the HDD activity light. I haven't yet been able to load another OS, but I'm downloading Arch Linux and BackTrack 5 to test to see it's possibly an OS issue.
I realize the sticky about the "do not update the bluetooth drivers" but I'm not getting my bluetooth to work at all, not even being recognized by the OS as an "unknown device."
When I connect my laptop to the TV using HDMI or RGB port, picture is not completely fit to the screen, task bar is hiding at bottom. I trying to change settings in Screen Resolution or Intel hd graphic properties, problem does not fixed,

I bought this laptop G500 Lenovo 4 months ago and I am satisfy but unfortunately I found out still it have defects my problem is my cd/dvd rom I got un annoying noisy sound inside when I put a cd on it I guess it will give me problem sooner and now it happens it won't read anymore. I try to search for answers maybe it only a software issue but doesn't work any trial. Uninstall driver and bring it back don't work still there is the annoying sound and not reading. I guess a mechanical failure in its cd alignment that it is spinning but the head is keep on adjusting which creating the noisy sound means it was not align to read the CD.
I just bought a lenovo G500 59-390085 laptop and installed windows 7. It is supposed to have 8GB of ssd for caching but I cant see it either in the bios or in the disk managment. I tried to make it work with Intel Rapid Store technology, where I see only the main hard disk, and it also needs to make it RAID instead of AHCI so I thought that changinh that in the bios would solve the problem, but there is no such option, only AHCI and "compatible". Ιs there a chance that the ssd drive is not connected? Also, this is the message on express cache when I tried to reinstall it. URL....
I have a Lenovo G500. After use, the keyboard touchpad does not click at first. The mouse can be moved first touch, but just click on the second touch. If no default driver installed, you can click after first use keyboard.
I have Lenovo G500s -20245. My keyboard does not work as it used to. All the short-cuts can not be performend. I mean the F-function do work with fn, but when I just click F4 it should close the programe, or F7 it should go to airmode, or f9 with should close just the monitor. But these things do not happen. I really love theme and made my life easier.
I'm trying to resolve a problem with the W Fi network, I'm going through all the solutions step by step on the main support website- reached step 8. However, on my G500, there is no "Start button" and it's not obvious where the Command Prompt is
I have a G500 windows 8 system, and my windows I dont know what happened but when I start it, it shows the windows logo and then a blank screen appears with the cursor, the cursor does move along the touchpad, but the windows does not show anything else on the screen. So, the windows neither starts nor (I am guessing as cursor moves) hangs.
I thought of reinstalling or repairing the windows from a windows 8 disc, but cant get into the boot menu.
I have a new G500 with a 500GB drive and Windows 8.1 preinstalled. I foolishly thought it would be easy to upgrade it to 1TB, which is supposed to be supported by the hardware according to the technical documents. Using OKR I have created a backup USB disk, ensuring that the option to copy the Recovery Partition is checked. All appears fine, I get a message to say that the disk was created successfully. I have not taken the recommended option to delete the recovery partition at this point. When I then replace the internal drive, boot from the recovery USB drive and run the restore, it fails at 42% with the message "There was a problem resetting your PC." No other information is provided and the only option available is to power off the PC. I have tried all three USB ports, 2 different 1TB disks and have tried all the options available. I have also tried two different USB disks for the back up.
This machine is only 2 weeks old but it is starting to drive me round the bend. As it takes the best part of two hours to fail it is a time consuming procedure.
It seems that Lenovo's backup/restore software simply doesn't work. It may be something to do with the BIOS - this machine has a newer version than is available from Lenovo's website.
My laptop has a keyboard where i have to use the FN key to use the function keys at the top, instead of having to press the FN key to use the action keys. ive been looking everywhere for a way to make it so i dont have to press the FN key to use my function keys, i looked at the bios but i dont see an option to disable the action keys, nor can i find an option anywhere elce in my laptop to set it like that, id even embrace an option to go into the registry to swap the on/off signal of the FN key.
I buy this wonderful notebook with win 8.1 , all works fine, but... the hdmi port seems is not working... nothing appens when i plug the hdmi cable... the tv doesn't recognize the pc... i don't think is a broken port, i think some driver or bios misconfiguration... My video card is the intel 400, i have latest updated driver..

Really cannot i use hdmi ouput because bios doesn't support it?? in 2014?? i can't believe it..
I have a G500 laptop. When it boots up, I would like the Num Lock to automatically be turned on. I can't see anything in the BIOS that would do that. Any other places I should be looking? Any other way to keep it turned on?
I want to upgrade the RAM of my laptop, but before I buy a second card, I wanted to make sure that the computer would be compatible with it. I opened it up to access the RAM, but when I tried to put the card that was already installed into the second slot, it wouldn't fit. It appears to be the right size, but it will not fit in the slot.
I have just bought the G500 and I'm getting really annoyed by the keyboard. It has "great" multimedia keys as the main keys instead of usual F1-F12 keys. To access their functionality you must press Fn+appropriate key. The problem has been described here many times. But no solution works for G500.
I have tried: enter BIOS (no such option for keyboard)install Lenovo Slim USB Keyboard application (runs, but the option selected have no effect)install Lenovo Ultraslim Plus Wireless Keyboard & Mouse Driver application (do not run at all - just brings me to the desktop and do nothing). I'm not able to use the computer since I use a lot of application depending on the functional keys and if there is no solution I will have to buy another computer...
I have lenovo g 500 (laptop) and everything was fine until today when start my laptop i see black screen with lenovo logo (white color) URL....I have tired to remove the battery with/without power cord but still same.
i could hear something rattling inside but laptop was working fine so i just left it alone. But 2 days ago it seems that harddrive completely stopped working, windows is not booting up and in bios it says it didnt detect any harddrive. So i opened botom cover to see if maybe that rattling was some loose screw and that made harddrive not work and there was a loose screw and i screw it back in (it was just a screw on the bottom not the one that holds harddrive. But my harddrive seems to not work at all and making weird noises when i turn laptop on.
I purchased a Lenovo G500 and I am wandering why do they not package a CD/DVD for the Windows 8 OS. I am thinking on downgrade it to Win7, but I am finding problems with GPT partitions.
I could erase all partitions and reformat it, but then I would loose the recovery partition and all possibility of reinstall Win8.
How could I extract this Win8 and get it into a DVD? [URL]
In fact DVD Drive has worked properly about 10 months and now disappeared from BIOS. DVD is also not visible in Device Manager.
DVD Drive is integrated in laptop. When I push the DVD’s button, LED indicator flashes and tray ejects. When I place a CD and close the tray, the LED indicator starts blinking and a noise of rotating can be heard. After several seconds the blinking stops first and noise after that.
My question is if there is any way to check whether the DVD Drive is really broken and needs replacement or something in my BIOS settings is wrong?
The BIOS was recently updated to the newest version available in Lenovo Support. That caused no problems with DVD Drive and it worked normally.
A week ago I updated successfully Windows 7 Professional x86 to Windows 7 Ultimate x64 via Windows Anytime Upgrade (not using DVD). After that I haven’t use the DVD drive until today. I am not sure if it is possible that Window upgrade to cause DVD Drive to disappear from BIOS.
Computer is Lenovo G500, Product: 20236, Serial: xxxxx, BIOS: 78CN23WW(V2.03)
I had brought a new G500 Lap it was nice to work with it, but fo past two days when i connected it with charger it shows me "Plugged In, not charging". what to di with it but some times to get charging .
i recently upgraded my g500 from windows 8 to windows to 8.1. But ever since then, my mouse does not work and the keyboard only works after standby. I tried to restore to factory defaults but that hasnt worked.
