I have bought g500 and configured the mouse settings following a post for the same problem in the forum.
It was working for the first time, but after i used external mouse , then it is not working anymore. It is not handy to always take mouse with me.

I have a problem with my TouchPad , the scrolling of right side has been stopped working ... I've installed all drivers that belong to touchpad , but it doesn't work as well as before , mean it doesn't work even ( the right side ) , i just can use my tow fingers for scrolling, but the right side was so much better ..
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Lenovo G500. After use, the keyboard touchpad does not click at first. The mouse can be moved first touch, but just click on the second touch. If no default driver installed, you can click after first use keyboard.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo since I've bought this computer I've had problems with the two-finger scrolling suddenly stopping, like many people have. That's always been fixable by going into properties, device settings, settings, unchecking/rechecking one of the boxes under "two finger scrolling" and hitting OK.
Now, though, my touchpad is suddenly stuck on one finger scrolling, and it's super annoying. There is no "one finger scrolling" option under the "scrolling" drop down thingy under device settings, so I haven't a clue why this is happening. I've tried the usual fix above, restarting the computer, installing new drivers, but it still does one finger scrolling. Which means it scrolls a lot of the time when I don't want it to, and the pointer seems to get "stuck" at times when I'm just trying to move it around.
I buy this wonderful notebook with win 8.1 , all works fine, but... the hdmi port seems is not working... nothing appens when i plug the hdmi cable... the tv doesn't recognize the pc... i don't think is a broken port, i think some driver or bios misconfiguration... My video card is the intel 400, i have latest updated driver..

i could hear something rattling inside but laptop was working fine so i just left it alone. But 2 days ago it seems that harddrive completely stopped working, windows is not booting up and in bios it says it didnt detect any harddrive. So i opened botom cover to see if maybe that rattling was some loose screw and that made harddrive not work and there was a loose screw and i screw it back in (it was just a screw on the bottom not the one that holds harddrive. But my harddrive seems to not work at all and making weird noises when i turn laptop on.

It only happens though when i view youtube videos in fullscreen or any flash video, the problems sorts it self out after a few minutes but it is very annoying.
After updating the touchpad drivers to 16.3.7.0 A03, there has been an issue with two-finger scrolling.
When I lift my fingers off the touchpad, it jumps to the bottom of the page. This is very frustrating as I have to scroll back up to find my place. This happens with Chrome, Word, IE, Firefox, everything.

Just got a brand new laptop, Dell Inspiron 11 3137, and updated to windows 8.1. The touchpad does not work properly now; gestures/scrolling/pointer not working. I've spent over 16 hours getting windows 8.1 installed and then troubleshooting this issue. I've contacted Dell; updated the driver from Dell, even tried installing the latest driver from Synaptic. I even tried setting the Synaptic app to run under the windows 8 version.
Touchpads have been around a long time. It's the last thing I expect not to work properly.
At this point I am ready to send the laptop back and call it quits on windows.
I bought a N500 before 1 day and today..the "second day" the touchpad is not working anymore. I did nothing special so far with the notebook, its not working on the pre-installled vista and ubuntu. so it can´t be a driver failure. Is there any special secret key to disable it? maybe i pressed a button wihout care..
I plugged a usb mouse and its working well, but that could be not a solution because I very need the touchpad working!

Touchpad is enabled in mouse settings, and device manager says drivers are up to date and that the device is working.
However, the touchpad is completely unresponsive, and restarting the computer didn't do anything. Is there anything else that could be done? Or should I believe that this is hardware failure?
I bought my Y500 a few days ago and happy with it in general. However, one day the two-finger-tap (for right click) on the touchpad stopped working. Below is a description.
Everything else as far as I can tell, including two-finger scroll and one-finger tap and so forth, are working fine, but the two-finger tap stopped working even though it worked fine for a few days. I have a suspicious as to what caused it but I'm not entirely sure. In any case I think it's most likely a bug, and probably software.
One day I went into "control panel" -> "mouse" -> "device settings" -> "settings..." -> "Scrolling" -> "two-finger scrolling" -> "enable coasting". I played with coasting for a while, and soon disabled it again because I didn't really like it. However, it was then that I noticed that my two-finger tap stopped working. I have doubled-checked that "control panel" -> "mouse" -> "device settings" -> "settings..." -> "clicking" -> "two-finger click" is set to "secondary click (context menu, special drag)", but the two-finger click still doesn't work, even after a restarted. I downloaded the latest driver (version 16.2.18.0) and it still didn't work. I uninstalled the driver and installed it again and it still doesn't work. Now I like using the touchpad, but really hate living without two-finger tap for right-clicking.
I bought my Y580 about a month ago and it has been great. The only problems I've been having with it is with the touchpad. About a week ago the synaptics software on here started to shutdown at random and things like two finger scrolling and swiping from the sides would all stop working. I searched around and downloaded updated software both from synaptic's website and from lenovo driver support. The newest ones from lenovo are the only ones that don't quit at random but now the only thing that doesn't like to work still is the two finger tap to right click. Sometimes it'll work for the first ten min when I first turn the laptop on but then it'll quit. Two finger click sometimes works for right click but not always and two finger tap for right click never works any more.

It works fine again when the computer has been restarted, but as soon as a Microsoft program has been opened the problem is there again.

I bought this laptop G500 Lenovo 4 months ago and I am satisfy but unfortunately I found out still it have defects my problem is my cd/dvd rom I got un annoying noisy sound inside when I put a cd on it I guess it will give me problem sooner and now it happens it won't read anymore. I try to search for answers maybe it only a software issue but doesn't work any trial. Uninstall driver and bring it back don't work still there is the annoying sound and not reading. I guess a mechanical failure in its cd alignment that it is spinning but the head is keep on adjusting which creating the noisy sound means it was not align to read the CD.

It is supposed to have 8GB of ssd for caching but I cant see it either in the bios or in the disk managment. I tried to make it work with Intel Rapid Store technology, where I see only the main hard disk, and it also needs to make it RAID instead of AHCI so I thought that changinh that in the bios would solve the problem, but there is no such option, only AHCI and "compatible". I recently bought a Lenovo G505s about a month ago. Everything is fine with it until i downloaded Steam and downloaded some games. 3 of the games i downloaded are shooters and therefore require the left mouse button. But when i click it to shoot, it doesn't respond sometimes and is very laggy. This is not the fault of the game as i tried it in different ones but the problem is still there. i tried to switch round the buttons (so that the right button is to shoot and the left to aim) and it works fine...

Also the buttons and trackpad work completely fine with everything else except games including Minecraft. it seems that when i am moving with WASD the button doesn't work but the right click button does.

I have some Bose bluetooth speakers I'd like to connect, but everytime I do so something goes wrong:the connection takes extremely longthe pc settings tell me there is a driver issue and the speakers do not connect at all my browser (google chrome) crashes/freezes and only unfreezes when I turn off Bluetoothafter a few minutes, the sound coming from the speakers is 'chopped up' like a bad phone connectionI've searched everywhere for a solution, but have not had any success so far. The device I believe causing the problem is Qualcomm Atheros AR3012 Bluetooth 4.0 + HS, for which I think I don't have a proper driver installed, but the system itself says it's the most recent one when I let it search for updates automatically. I can't find a more recent one myself as well.

I mean the F-function do work with fn, but when I just click F4 it should close the programe, or F7 it should go to airmode, or f9 with should close just the monitor. But these things do not happen. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a G500 windows 8 system, and my windows I dont know what happened but when I start it, it shows the windows logo and then a blank screen appears with the cursor, the cursor does move along the touchpad, but the windows does not show anything else on the screen. So, the windows neither starts nor (I am guessing as cursor moves) hangs.
I thought of reinstalling or repairing the windows from a windows 8 disc, but cant get into the boot menu.
I have a Lenovo g500 with windows 8.0 Suddenly this month the sound started to stop.
This happens when I start the laptop or if it wakes from standby.
The sound is restored only after a restart. I have already tried microsoft solutions and tested all the services that start with windows start.
I have a new G500 with a 500GB drive and Windows 8.1 preinstalled. I foolishly thought it would be easy to upgrade it to 1TB, which is supposed to be supported by the hardware according to the technical documents. Using OKR I have created a backup USB disk, ensuring that the option to copy the Recovery Partition is checked. All appears fine, I get a message to say that the disk was created successfully. I have not taken the recommended option to delete the recovery partition at this point. When I then replace the internal drive, boot from the recovery USB drive and run the restore, it fails at 42% with the message "There was a problem resetting your PC." No other information is provided and the only option available is to power off the PC. I have tried all three USB ports, 2 different 1TB disks and have tried all the options available. I have also tried two different USB disks for the back up.
This machine is only 2 weeks old but it is starting to drive me round the bend. As it takes the best part of two hours to fail it is a time consuming procedure.
It seems that Lenovo's backup/restore software simply doesn't work. It may be something to do with the BIOS - this machine has a newer version than is available from Lenovo's website.
My laptop has a keyboard where i have to use the FN key to use the function keys at the top, instead of having to press the FN key to use the action keys. ive been looking everywhere for a way to make it so i dont have to press the FN key to use my function keys, i looked at the bios but i dont see an option to disable the action keys, nor can i find an option anywhere elce in my laptop to set it like that, id even embrace an option to go into the registry to swap the on/off signal of the FN key.
