Lenovo B / G Series :: G505s Touchpad Buttons Not Working Properly While Gaming?
Dec 20, 2013
I recently bought a Lenovo G505s about a month ago. Everything is fine with it until i downloaded Steam and downloaded some games. 3 of the games i downloaded are shooters and therefore require the left mouse button. But when i click it to shoot, it doesn't respond sometimes and is very laggy. This is not the fault of the game as i tried it in different ones but the problem is still there. i tried to switch round the buttons (so that the right button is to shoot and the left to aim) and it works fine...
If it is needed here are some specs for the pc:
AMD A8
6gb ram
WIndows 8.1
Also the buttons and trackpad work completely fine with everything else except games including Minecraft. it seems that when i am moving with WASD the button doesn't work but the right click button does.
I have had the G505S for 2 days and have been using it to play Football Manager 2014. However twice in that time it has shut down because it has overheated. When I power back on the fan kicks in and some serious heat comes out and dissipates after around 5 mins.
I have downloaded HWMonitor which reads around 90C when idling, however the AMD Overdrive programme reports around 42C when idling.
I have just installed the latest BIOS update and made the changes recommended at this link [URL] .... to reduce the processor power to 98% to stop it overclocking, but is there anything else I should be doing? Is the laptop faulty as the fan doesn't kick in and out to try and cool it down during gaming?
I just bought new headset for my Lenovo G505S + adapter(mic jack + audio jack in one output) but when I speak microphone on headset is not working but in-built microphone is capturing sound. I checked Smartaudio settings setted on headset option on configuration of conector and neither of theese microphone was working so I set back default.
I bought t420 last month. Yesterday i spilled liquid on the clicks on touchpad. The right button works but it freezes sometimes, left doesn't work at all. Because i am in Europe now,the warnity does not cover. Also the ultranav buttons don't work. With external mouse it works.
I'm using a W530 with the following configuration :
Windows 8.1 x64 Synaptics driver 16.2.19.14
My problem is that even though I set the PalmCheck settings to minimum, I have a delay before I can use the left button under the touchpad. The PalmCheck seems to work only on the touchpad functionnalities, not on the buttons below.
How to use those left/right physical buttons below the touchpad while hitting keys on the keyboard ?
I have had my lenovo Z510 for about 3 weeks now, and I am running into a problem where I cannot use my keyboard keys and use my touchpad at the same time, which makes it difficult to play games. I have gone into the settings and went to mouse and touchpad and selected always on, but that didnt seem to do much, maybe i need to increase the active area of my touchpad, but I dont think windows 8.1 comes with any such tools and I dont think Lenovo pre installed anything...
I have bought a S400 Touch laptop 2 months back. Now it is saying my Windows is about to expire and it is asking for an activation key. I Did not get any activation key. How can I get rid of this issue. And also my touch is not working properly. How can I get service regarding this.
The fan on my IdeaPad Y570 has suddenly stopped switching on. It does not spin regardless of temperature, and as a result, temperatures reach 90C+. The dedusting mode works fine, the fan spins up as expected for the cycle, and sounds normal. So the fan is not physically broken or clogged. I have also installed 3rd party software CPUID HWMonitor to check if the temperature sensors are functioning, and they all show temperatures at expected levels, and more than high enough to warrant the fan coming on.
I don't think I have installed any new software that might interfere with it. I have tried re-installing the Lenovo Energy Management software. I have also tried starting the laptop in safe mode, to no effect.
My question concerns the non-functioning sleep mode buttons on my Lenovo W540 20BG.
In my current power management settings, the W540 is suppose to enter sleep mode by pressing Fn4 or by pressing the round power button shortly. However, either one of these methods do not work.
My computer does enter sleep mode when usign the Windows start menu (Start->Shut Down -> Sleep).
i am using HP Pavilion G6 core i 3, my touch pad is working properly but the cursor lock option on touch pad is not working.when i double click on top left corner to lock the cursor nothing is happening..
I Have HP Pavilion 15-n003tx Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR touchpad is not working properly when i tried to zoom in or out then it doesnot occurs i have all latest drivers installed ...
I am using HP Pavilion G6 notebook with product number LR774PA#ACJ .Neither the touchpad lock is working nor the click functionality of the toucpad. Though I am able to scroll using toucpad.I tried to uninstall an d reinstalling driver for the touchpad.Every tym I restrats my laptop I have to uninstalll driver an d restart my laptop again for proper functioning of the touchpad.
My DV5035nr was recently wiped and upgraded to Windows 7. the touchpad jumps around and is driving me nuts. i went on the synaptics website, and downloaded the driver suggested, but the same problem keeps happening. should i be downloading another driver? In between steps, i went into the control panel, and deleted the synaptics driver before installing the new one. the touchpad works great when there isn't a program or driver associated with it. can i run it without the extra software?
I bought a Lenovo G505s laptop 4-5 days ago, but I have a problem. When I start Windows, it says 'battery not detected'. I found a topic about this, and I can fix it, if do the 'battery out, AC adapter in, deleteing Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery from device manager, shutdown, AC adapter out, battery in, AC adapter in' method The real problem is, that I have to do this every single day I wake up. Maybe it's because I don't updated BIOS, or it's a software/hardware error?
I really don't know how to update the bios for the 505s. Where can i download the new bios update and also what are the steps that I have to take? Will the program just update everything once you press yes or will you need to go in to the bios in the start up or what?
I've got a Lenovo G505s (A8 - 4GB) with Windos 8 64x.
There's an option in the BIOS called 'OS Optimized Defaults'. It has two choice, 'Win 8 64bit' and 'Other OS'. The default is in my settings is 'Other OS'.
The first one says: When load default values, will load pure UEFI mode default values.
The other one: When load dfault values, will load Lwgacy support mode default values.
So, just because I've got Win8. Am I have to use the Win8 possibility, or stay at the default one?
My touchpad doesn't work but the buttons are working fine. It also clicks randomly (not with the left or right mouse buttons) so I have to disable it. I have installed the latest version of the Synaptic driver and the problem still persists. I think only the touchpad is having a problem because when I use a wireless mouse, it works fine.
My G505s A10-5750m processor is underclocking and locked at 2.05ghz. I tried changing settings in Lenovo Energy Management, Catylist Control is up to date, Bios is at 3.0, Amd Overdrive doesn't change anything beside GPU for me, whenever I try to adjust processor settings, it just goes back to what it was before. Temps are are 57C, but show 100 in HW monitor which it says for everyone.
I have Lenovo G505 (59-380146) (APU Quad Core A10-5750 2.5 Ghz/ 6GB Ram) Windows 7 x64. Upgraded my HDD to SSD (Sandisk SDSSDHP256G FW:X2316RL).
System become rapid speed, windows boots in 8-10secs, HD tune transfer rate is between 357.3 and 409.6 MB/sec, simply everything just went perfect except Internet speed... With old HDD it used to be around 36-40Mbps, with SSD its now only around 11-13Mbps... My wireless card is Atheros AR956x. Drivers are up to date and downloaded from Lenovo support website. Tried old HDD - wifi works perfect.
Long story short, the battery likes to play games as to when it is or isn't detected. If I plug it in to the charger before booting it tends to recognize the battery, but frequently when simply turning on the G505s it'll just not detect the battery (I tried seeing if it was detected in the Lenovo Solution Center in addition to the battery meter; it wasn't). It runs on battery, but it's incredibly irritating to have no info as to how much of a charge is left.
I just got this laptop yesterday, and I upgraded the BIOS firmware, and am currently running Windows 8.1.
So i have the g505s a10.... A few weeks ago the unit would not boot after running awesome for several months. I have upgraded to Win8.1.
My problem is that with this newer uefi bios i am not able to view any of the files on the 505s hd with any of my other computers. I desperately need to resurect the 505 but do not want to run the one key recovery untill i can get some extremly important files first.
I have been a computer professional for quite awhile but have not worked extensively with uefi yet, Best i can tell, the only way to achieve what i am after is using another pc with uefi capabilities to access the drive.
What are my options to access the data from a 3rd party pc.
I just purchased a G505s laptop, and I now realize that the function keys (F1-F12) operate as Lenovo hotkeys by default, and I need to press th "Fn" key along with them in order to get them to function in their original mode. This is not acceptable for my normal usage. I know with other Lenovo laptops, there is a BIOS setting that allows the user to either "disable" hotkey mode, or set them to "legacy" mode, but in the current BIOS/UEFI for the G505s there is no option to do so.
After updating the touchpad drivers to 16.3.7.0 A03, there has been an issue with two-finger scrolling.
When I lift my fingers off the touchpad, it jumps to the bottom of the page. This is very frustrating as I have to scroll back up to find my place. This happens with Chrome, Word, IE, Firefox, everything.
The same issue is also plaguing this user: [URL] .....
I tried to clean the underneath of the touchpad mouse buttons of this Dell Vostro 2520 Notebook. since then both the buttons are not working. I am not being able to use the left right buttons and now using an external mouse.
What do I need to replace? How to purchase and from where. dell techincl support phone waiting time is currently 2-3 hours. I just tried.
I bought a N500 before 1 day and today..the "second day" the touchpad is not working anymore. I did nothing special so far with the notebook, its not working on the pre-installled vista and ubuntu. so it can´t be a driver failure. Is there any special secret key to disable it? maybe i pressed a button wihout care..
I plugged a usb mouse and its working well, but that could be not a solution because I very need the touchpad working!
The touchpad of my Lenovo G50-70 (i3-4010U) is not working properly (windows 8.1). Sometimes when I use the touchpad, the arrow don’t move. Until it close and open the display, it’s don’t move. In addition, this method does not always work.i have gone to options and I've turned off touchpad options "two fingers" mode, but nothing change.Honestly speaking, I have still in function an old notebook pc (from 2007, not Lenovo!), I need my computer for travel work but this problem becomes very difficult my job.
My Y410p is about six months old. Today, while using the computer, the touchpad stopped working suddenly.
Touchpad is enabled in mouse settings, and device manager says drivers are up to date and that the device is working.
However, the touchpad is completely unresponsive, and restarting the computer didn't do anything. Is there anything else that could be done? Or should I believe that this is hardware failure?
