I am using HP Pavilion G6 notebook with product number LR774PA#ACJ .Neither the touchpad lock is working nor the click functionality of the toucpad. Though I am able to scroll using toucpad.I tried to uninstall an d reinstalling driver for the touchpad.Every tym I restrats my laptop I have to uninstalll driver an d restart my laptop again for proper functioning of the touchpad.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy DV5035nr was recently wiped and upgraded to Windows 7. the touchpad jumps around and is driving me nuts. i went on the synaptics website, and downloaded the driver suggested, but the same problem keeps happening. should i be downloading another driver? In between steps, i went into the control panel, and deleted the synaptics driver before installing the new one. the touchpad works great when there isn't a program or driver associated with it. can i run it without the extra software?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have successfully installed Ubuntu on my Aspire E3 112 and after a bit of fannying around with setting a System Password in the BIOS and trusting the Grub2 EFI settings, I have a stable system that boots in to both Ubuntu and Windows 8.1 with Bing.
BUT , The right click doesn't work on the Synaptic Touchpad. No matter where I click on the touchpad it is recognised as a left click.
I've tried installing the GPointing Device Setting but there aren't any config settings for right click.
I've heard that Synaptics have a product (Synaptics Gesture Suite for Linux - SGS-L) but it's only available to OEM suppliers.
I bought my Y580 about a month ago and it has been great. The only problems I've been having with it is with the touchpad. About a week ago the synaptics software on here started to shutdown at random and things like two finger scrolling and swiping from the sides would all stop working. I searched around and downloaded updated software both from synaptic's website and from lenovo driver support. The newest ones from lenovo are the only ones that don't quit at random but now the only thing that doesn't like to work still is the two finger tap to right click. Sometimes it'll work for the first ten min when I first turn the laptop on but then it'll quit. Two finger click sometimes works for right click but not always and two finger tap for right click never works any more.

I recently bought a Lenovo G505s about a month ago. Everything is fine with it until i downloaded Steam and downloaded some games. 3 of the games i downloaded are shooters and therefore require the left mouse button. But when i click it to shoot, it doesn't respond sometimes and is very laggy. This is not the fault of the game as i tried it in different ones but the problem is still there. i tried to switch round the buttons (so that the right button is to shoot and the left to aim) and it works fine...

Also the buttons and trackpad work completely fine with everything else except games including Minecraft. it seems that when i am moving with WASD the button doesn't work but the right click button does.
After updating the touchpad drivers to 16.3.7.0 A03, there has been an issue with two-finger scrolling.
When I lift my fingers off the touchpad, it jumps to the bottom of the page. This is very frustrating as I have to scroll back up to find my place. This happens with Chrome, Word, IE, Firefox, everything.

i can use the touch pad to move around but edge swipes don't work so i cant change from app to app and i cannot function zooming using the touch pad or scrolling either ?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've recently purchases a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 540 and it worked just fine untill earlyer today.While i was browsing the internet, some how my touchpad developed a problem.It only registeres right click where ever i click.I've deleted the drivers, even tho they were the knewest ones, downloaded a fresh .exe and installed it after the reset and what not and it still has the same problem.
If i turn off the touchpad in the ultranav software and enable only trackapad, the buttons work like they should, the large area in the touchpad registeres as the left click and the small area in the top right is registered as the right click. Tho i can't use the touchpad for navigation.So clicking doesn't works, well neither does tapping. I can doubletap normaly, but i cannot tap and drag such as selecting a block of text.
Again, i've already tried a fresh install of ultranav drivers and it didn't work. The problem manifested itself during normal browsing, nothing was installed nor changed hardware vise. It litteraly changed in a second.how to solve it since the driver reinstall didn't work.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1440 which I've been using since 2010. Recently I bought a new charger for my laptop as the old one got damaged and now when I'm charging the laptop the touch pad is not working properly. It is slow and sometimes I can't select items with the touch pad. So I changed the charger and when I checked in the shop the touch pad with new charger (the second one) was working fine. But when I went home again the same problem with the touch pad when charging only. When I remove the charger it works fine. And I also tried with a friends charger (but another dell model) and it works fine. And now my laptop battery indicator is blinking red three times. That also happens when charging only.

It doesn't matter if the AC of the laptop is connected or not, the touchpad becomes impossible to use. I tried using it in other places thinking of an energy problem at my place, but it still occurs. Other laptops work normaly with the external harddrive and the HDMI.

Last week my PC got crashed due to hard disk problem , hence OS & all other softwares reinstalled with drivers from then this problem is there.when checked in the bluetooth seetings it shows the device is working properly.but when i try to connect i am not able to establish connection between my mobile and laptop the connection is failing.
Ever since I upgraded to Windows 7 Pro on my HP Pavilion (dv7-1223ca) , several keys on my keyboard haven't been working properly. I've upgraded and downgraded my computer many times, and this hasn't happened before. When I press the G, H, backspace, or apostrophe keys, they won't work unless I press one of them around thirty or forty times. Once I get one of them working, they all start to work properly for about five minutes, and then it goes back to being broken.
This is a major hassle as I use my laptop for work. I've tried reinstalling the keyboard drivers, but this hasn't worked
Also, two of the keys on my keyboard (alt and delete) came off completely and won't go back on. Is there any chance HP would be able to replace these?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have the Pavilion g7-2235dx with Windows 8.1 operating system. Nearly every automatic update messes up my ability to get on the internet. The only way I can connect is to uninstall all of the updates. The icons on my desktop also stopped working. When I click on them, it goes right back to desktop. Can't pin them to the taskbar either. The ones on the taskbar won't open by clicking on them either. Have to right click and tell it to open. Also problem getting my Norton anti-virus to open. Says it working but can't open it.

My HP pavilion DV6-3079TX Touchpad not working . I have opened the laptop and checked if any cable is loose or not conneced ,so I pulled it out and inserted properly and tried again .but it doesn't show any sensitivity .checked the driver also in the device manager where it shows as synaptics PS/2 port Touchpad and says the device is working properly and driver also up to date.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a HP pavilion touchsmart sleekbook 14-b133tx laptop running windows 8 and is still in warranty because of a faulty touchscreen. A few days ago my touchpad is not working properly. when i tap the touchpad it does a richt click and when i move my finger in resizes my icons. I look at device manager at it says that the device is working properly.
The touchpad works normally after booting but stops after a few minutes along with the keyboard (i am using the touchscreen as i type this). When i go to the mouse settings there is an error "cannot connect to synaptics pointing device driver" it prompted me to uninstall so i did but the driver won't uninstall. I tried to uninstall it on device manager then rebooted my pc then reinstalled it again but the problem is still present.
Now the touchpad is not working at all and the keyboard stops a few minutes to hours after logging into windows ang fixes itself when i reboot my pc but stops working again after some time. In the device manager there is now an error in the touchpad "This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24)". I already did a hard reset, the sfc/scannow, a system restore, and I already used system recovery to revert back to its factory settings but the touchpad is still not working (still error code 24) and the keyboard still stops responding after a few minutes.
The touchpad on my laptop (hp pavilion x2) is not working, the cursor is not visible. It works perfectly well when I plug in an external mouse, however when I unplug it the cursor will freeze and when I use the touchscreen it will disappear completely.

I have tried;
updating the driverreinstalled original drivertroubleshoot compatibility on the originaltried a battery remove / hold power button option These have not fixed my scroll at all. No other gestures are working either... The Synaptics pointing devide driver is installed at this time.
The only thing I CAN DO is point-and-click on by touchpad.
I have followed advice on changing settings on the mousepad in the control panel, in my settings it shows I have enabled (ticked) all of 2 finger scrolling vertical and horizontal and one finger scrolling vertical and horizontal, and have clicked apply, however the touchpad still won't let me scroll on pages. All i can use the touchpad for is to click and moe the pointer around the page. It used to work until recently and I only bought the laptop in January. This is very frustrating as i bought the laptop for study use as an open uni student I have to read a lot of journals so thesudden lack of non scrolling is extremely awkward.
I have tried the changing of settings (once I found the control panel) already so how to get this to work again.
As noted above. Seems to be no power going to CD rom. light does not come on. door does not open, does not play cd.
