View 9 RepliesJust got a brand new laptop, Dell Inspiron 11 3137, and updated to windows 8.1. The touchpad does not work properly now; gestures/scrolling/pointer not working. I've spent over 16 hours getting windows 8.1 installed and then troubleshooting this issue. I've contacted Dell; updated the driver from Dell, even tried installing the latest driver from Synaptic. I even tried setting the Synaptic app to run under the windows 8 version.
Touchpads have been around a long time. It's the last thing I expect not to work properly.
At this point I am ready to send the laptop back and call it quits on windows.
After some driver updates (Bios and touchpad) scrolling on touchpad stopped working. I also did a reinstall of the drivers.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have bought g500 and configured the mouse settings following a post for the same problem in the forum.
It was working for the first time, but after i used external mouse , then it is not working anymore. It is not handy to always take mouse with me.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an a problem with the touchpad which basically stops gestures from working such as scrolling.
It only happens though when i view youtube videos in fullscreen or any flash video, the problems sorts it self out after a few minutes but it is very annoying.
After updating the touchpad drivers to 16.3.7.0 A03, there has been an issue with two-finger scrolling.
When I lift my fingers off the touchpad, it jumps to the bottom of the page. This is very frustrating as I have to scroll back up to find my place. This happens with Chrome, Word, IE, Firefox, everything.
The same issue is also plaguing this user: [URL] .....
I recently installed the "new" drivers for the windows 8 upgrade for the Aspire 5250. (After upgrading I did not install the drivers until recently.) Since I installed the driver, the side-scroll on the touchpad isn't working. Is there a way to turn it on?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI got this Aspire 5560G about three years ago and it was running Windows 7. I recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 and have managed to find and install all the drivers I need for my lapop to run smoothly, except for the touchpad.
Although it works for moving the cursor and double-tapping to open files etc, it doesn't work to scroll pages. I have tried downloading the latest driver on the Acer Drivers page but it doesn't change any features.
Yesterday it prompted me to install a whole crap load of uploads onto my computer.
So after the Nvidia and two others (can't remember them) I was prompted up download a new driver that would solve the problem of the scroll randomly not working.
Well they solved the random part but now it's not scrolling at all.
ON MY DV6- 1410EJ NOTEBOOK ON WINDOWS 7 64-BIT, THE SCROLLING FUNCTION OF THE TOUCHPADV6.5 HAS STOPPED AND I CANNOT SELECT THE CHECK BOX TO RESTORE IT.
View 9 Replies View RelatedAnyone know how to enable scrolling on the XP3 1330 touchpad? I just got Vista reinstalled on mine and I cannot find where to enable this
View 7 Replies View RelatedIs there some trick to this? like 1 in 8 times it actually scrolls, it's not even smoothl, it like jumps, not smoothly scrolls the page.
View 10 Replies View RelatedYes I have scroll & zoom enabled.
I don't know what's up, it just turns off all the time. Then I have to go into the mouse settings and just re-click "apply" and it will be there again (even though it's still enabled).
Dell support is completely useless when I try to chat online with them.
I also have another issue where the top of my windows won't reach the top of my screen. There is a 0.5cm gap between all maximized windows and the top of the screen. It's just an empty space that shows through to my wallpaper. Once again dell support completely useless.
As you can see in my pic, I try to highlight the top of the screen but it just disappears.
Here's another with maximized windows.
I have a Vaio SR 190 and i'm trying to use the Google Code for two finger scrolling. I have a synaptics touchpad v7.0 with Driver 10.2.4
I have Chiralmotion and momentum enabled but the google code program keeps saying "Driver support for multiple fingers is already enabled but the driver still doesn't report multiple fingers
I recently had to get a new hard drive for my laptop which is an Inspiron N5010 with Windows 7 and since I have gotten it back my touchpad scrolling no longer works like it did before and I cant find the setting to fix this issue.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an HP Pavilion 14-b130sa, running windows 8. Last night I switched my laptop off after using it all day for writing an essay, when I then turned the laptop back on about 3 hours later, I could no longer scroll using the touchpad. My laptop won't let me run or look at the synaptics 7.5 drivers or any of the files, as it just says they cannot be found.
I have tried re-installing the drivers, but this does not seemed to have worked.
I recently bought an Inspiron 1545 and absolutely cannot stand not being able to 2-finger scroll. The "side pad" function works poorly at best, and is so undependable that I am resorted to using a mouse whenever possible.
How on earth can I get my Inspiron 1545 with an Alps touchpad to have 2 finger scrolling similar to Mac systems? Is it even possible?
Is there any way to change the touchpad gesture scrolling on a new dell precision m4700? There does not appear to be an option in the touchpad settings like on other dells.

I have noticed that after my laptop sleeps, and is woken back up 80% of the time I loose trackpad features, and I need to restart to regain. Reinstalled drivers from support site, did not work.
So since I've bought this computer I've had problems with the two-finger scrolling suddenly stopping, like many people have. That's always been fixable by going into properties, device settings, settings, unchecking/rechecking one of the boxes under "two finger scrolling" and hitting OK.
Now, though, my touchpad is suddenly stuck on one finger scrolling, and it's super annoying. There is no "one finger scrolling" option under the "scrolling" drop down thingy under device settings, so I haven't a clue why this is happening. I've tried the usual fix above, restarting the computer, installing new drivers, but it still does one finger scrolling. Which means it scrolls a lot of the time when I don't want it to, and the pointer seems to get "stuck" at times when I'm just trying to move it around.
Is there anyway to get the TouchPad features for Windows 8 on a XPS 15 L502x? Used them on a Windows 8 Laptop today, and i want them too! I tried installing the Dell Windows 7 Drivers, and the original Synaptics Drivers.. both didn't work really hate this touchpad and their existing drivers..

View 1 Replies View RelatedBrand new laptop, received yesterday. Plugged in a USB mouse today. All was fine until I unplugged it - now the laptop's touchpad will not work, despite the fact that as far as the computer is concerned, it is enabled (have gone through control panel, touchpad controls, etc. - everything thinks the touchpad is enabled). Drivers are up to date. Mouse works fine when I plug it back in, but cannot get the touchpad functioning.

I have tried;
updating the driverreinstalled original drivertroubleshoot compatibility on the originaltried a battery remove / hold power button option These have not fixed my scroll at all. No other gestures are working either... The Synaptics pointing devide driver is installed at this time.
The only thing I CAN DO is point-and-click on by touchpad.
I had the same problem. I followed the instructions in this video by TechBullUSA. [URL] ..... It worked!
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have followed advice on changing settings on the mousepad in the control panel, in my settings it shows I have enabled (ticked) all of 2 finger scrolling vertical and horizontal and one finger scrolling vertical and horizontal, and have clicked apply, however the touchpad still won't let me scroll on pages. All i can use the touchpad for is to click and moe the pointer around the page. It used to work until recently and I only bought the laptop in January. This is very frustrating as i bought the laptop for study use as an open uni student I have to read a lot of journals so thesudden lack of non scrolling is extremely awkward.
I have tried the changing of settings (once I found the control panel) already so how to get this to work again.
