I recently installed the "new" drivers for the windows 8 upgrade for the Aspire 5250. (After upgrading I did not install the drivers until recently.) Since I installed the driver, the side-scroll on the touchpad isn't working. Is there a way to turn it on?
View 2 RepliesI got this Aspire 5560G about three years ago and it was running Windows 7. I recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 and have managed to find and install all the drivers I need for my lapop to run smoothly, except for the touchpad.
Although it works for moving the cursor and double-tapping to open files etc, it doesn't work to scroll pages. I have tried downloading the latest driver on the Acer Drivers page but it doesn't change any features.
I can not control the screen scroll with the mouse pad. I is very distracting to complete any task. How to lock my screen.

I have noticed that after my laptop sleeps, and is woken back up 80% of the time I loose trackpad features, and I need to restart to regain. Reinstalled drivers from support site, did not work.
I have an Acer Aspire 5250, when i turn it on, i get bios post, followed by screen with a bunch of colored lines, a few seconds later 3 long beeps 2 short...
I have the InsydeH20 bios. Any beep codes I can get ? I tried removing the memory 1 at a time, and same thing still happens.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust got a brand new laptop, Dell Inspiron 11 3137, and updated to windows 8.1. The touchpad does not work properly now; gestures/scrolling/pointer not working. I've spent over 16 hours getting windows 8.1 installed and then troubleshooting this issue. I've contacted Dell; updated the driver from Dell, even tried installing the latest driver from Synaptic. I even tried setting the Synaptic app to run under the windows 8 version.
Touchpads have been around a long time. It's the last thing I expect not to work properly.
At this point I am ready to send the laptop back and call it quits on windows.
With this process able to work with touch pad in Windows 8.1. Another problem observerd that the TP behaving abnormally. It stop sometimes and sometimes move. Checked with Windows 7 , found to be working fine

They're kinda hard to live without once you've had them, and it is most unfortunate that I have lost these gestures. So, how do I get them back?

My "Mice and other pointing devices" show that I have a PS/2 compatible mouse (I thought they were supposed to have like an ELAN or Synaptics something before the word)....
I tried troubleshooting and it showed me that the 3D Video Controller has no driver and the PCI device doesn't have a driver (I figured I'd include them in case they were the cause of the loss of gestures)....
I have an ACER Aspire R7 win8.1 and I have a problem with the touchscreen. The touchscreen is scrolling up and down by iself out of control, without touching it.
I run anti-virus and anti-malware and everything seems normal. I finally disable the touchscreen in system and everything is fine using the mouse.
THERE IS NO DEVICE SETTINGS !!!!!!!

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Aspire 5741-5698 running Windows 7. I never want to connect to the internet wirelessly. I only want to connect rarely with a wired connection. I can disconnect the wireless by pressing Fn+F3 but I never see a "Launch Manager". The problem is when I turn off the computer and turn it back on, it defaults to connect wirelessly. I went to Manage Wireless Networks in Control Panel and selected Manually Connect to my home Network. That did not work. How can I stop it from connecting automatically wirelessly?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy cursor is as spaztic as a Mexican jumping bean. It costs many seconds and numerous nerve endings just to get it to land on the scroll bar correctly. I need to calm down the touchpad's sensitivity. My notebook is an Aspire E3-111-C4GX running Win 8.1. Already turned off taps, changed cursor speed, etc. Must get to its sensitivity level wherever that is.

Symptoms: some times (this is very erratic) the touchpad freezes.
I'm not trying to run a different OS on the machine: I use the Windows 8.1 64-bit that comes with the machine.
I've downloaded and reinstalled the drivers (Intel Chipset, Intel serial IO, Synaptics Touchpad, Elantech Touchpad) from Support & Service web site...
And finally I've done a full system restore.
The touchpad responds is still erratic. What is weird is that the touchpad is shown as an HID mouse in the Windows Device Management (and not as a Synaptic or Elantech touchpad).
An external USB mouse works fine. What should I try now?
Yesterday it prompted me to install a whole crap load of uploads onto my computer.
So after the Nvidia and two others (can't remember them) I was prompted up download a new driver that would solve the problem of the scroll randomly not working.
Well they solved the random part but now it's not scrolling at all.
After some driver updates (Bios and touchpad) scrolling on touchpad stopped working. I also did a reinstall of the drivers.

I don't know what's up, it just turns off all the time. Then I have to go into the mouse settings and just re-click "apply" and it will be there again (even though it's still enabled).
Dell support is completely useless when I try to chat online with them.
I also have another issue where the top of my windows won't reach the top of my screen. There is a 0.5cm gap between all maximized windows and the top of the screen. It's just an empty space that shows through to my wallpaper. Once again dell support completely useless.
As you can see in my pic, I try to highlight the top of the screen but it just disappears.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently reinstalled windows 8.1 on my laptop as i had cloning problems with my new ssd (crucial mx100), reinstalling windows apparently solved the problem. i had problems with my display (brightness could not be adjusted) that was solved by installing intel's latest drivers using their app as device manager showed that it had the latest drivers. i only have one issue right now, the touch pad lost its multi-touch features and windows 8.1 gestures, is there anyway to fix this? i know it is probably a driver's problem but i can't really find them in device manager and if you can post the link of the drivers.

I recently had to get a new hard drive for my laptop which is an Inspiron N5010 with Windows 7 and since I have gotten it back my touchpad scrolling no longer works like it did before and I cant find the setting to fix this issue.
