View 9 RepliesYesterday it prompted me to install a whole crap load of uploads onto my computer.
So after the Nvidia and two others (can't remember them) I was prompted up download a new driver that would solve the problem of the scroll randomly not working.
Well they solved the random part but now it's not scrolling at all.
After some driver updates (Bios and touchpad) scrolling on touchpad stopped working. I also did a reinstall of the drivers.

View 7 Replies View RelatedIs there some trick to this? like 1 in 8 times it actually scrolls, it's not even smoothl, it like jumps, not smoothly scrolls the page.
View 10 Replies View RelatedYes I have scroll & zoom enabled.
I don't know what's up, it just turns off all the time. Then I have to go into the mouse settings and just re-click "apply" and it will be there again (even though it's still enabled).
Dell support is completely useless when I try to chat online with them.
I also have another issue where the top of my windows won't reach the top of my screen. There is a 0.5cm gap between all maximized windows and the top of the screen. It's just an empty space that shows through to my wallpaper. Once again dell support completely useless.
As you can see in my pic, I try to highlight the top of the screen but it just disappears.
Here's another with maximized windows.
I have a Vaio SR 190 and i'm trying to use the Google Code for two finger scrolling. I have a synaptics touchpad v7.0 with Driver 10.2.4
I have Chiralmotion and momentum enabled but the google code program keeps saying "Driver support for multiple fingers is already enabled but the driver still doesn't report multiple fingers
I recently had to get a new hard drive for my laptop which is an Inspiron N5010 with Windows 7 and since I have gotten it back my touchpad scrolling no longer works like it did before and I cant find the setting to fix this issue.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an HP Pavilion 14-b130sa, running windows 8. Last night I switched my laptop off after using it all day for writing an essay, when I then turned the laptop back on about 3 hours later, I could no longer scroll using the touchpad. My laptop won't let me run or look at the synaptics 7.5 drivers or any of the files, as it just says they cannot be found.
I have tried re-installing the drivers, but this does not seemed to have worked.
I have bought g500 and configured the mouse settings following a post for the same problem in the forum.
It was working for the first time, but after i used external mouse , then it is not working anymore. It is not handy to always take mouse with me.

I recently bought an Inspiron 1545 and absolutely cannot stand not being able to 2-finger scroll. The "side pad" function works poorly at best, and is so undependable that I am resorted to using a mouse whenever possible.
How on earth can I get my Inspiron 1545 with an Alps touchpad to have 2 finger scrolling similar to Mac systems? Is it even possible?
I have a problem with my TouchPad , the scrolling of right side has been stopped working ... I've installed all drivers that belong to touchpad , but it doesn't work as well as before , mean it doesn't work even ( the right side ) , i just can use my tow fingers for scrolling, but the right side was so much better ..

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got this Aspire 5560G about three years ago and it was running Windows 7. I recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 and have managed to find and install all the drivers I need for my lapop to run smoothly, except for the touchpad.
Although it works for moving the cursor and double-tapping to open files etc, it doesn't work to scroll pages. I have tried downloading the latest driver on the Acer Drivers page but it doesn't change any features.
I have an a problem with the touchpad which basically stops gestures from working such as scrolling.
It only happens though when i view youtube videos in fullscreen or any flash video, the problems sorts it self out after a few minutes but it is very annoying.

I have noticed that after my laptop sleeps, and is woken back up 80% of the time I loose trackpad features, and I need to restart to regain. Reinstalled drivers from support site, did not work.
So since I've bought this computer I've had problems with the two-finger scrolling suddenly stopping, like many people have. That's always been fixable by going into properties, device settings, settings, unchecking/rechecking one of the boxes under "two finger scrolling" and hitting OK.
Now, though, my touchpad is suddenly stuck on one finger scrolling, and it's super annoying. There is no "one finger scrolling" option under the "scrolling" drop down thingy under device settings, so I haven't a clue why this is happening. I've tried the usual fix above, restarting the computer, installing new drivers, but it still does one finger scrolling. Which means it scrolls a lot of the time when I don't want it to, and the pointer seems to get "stuck" at times when I'm just trying to move it around.
After updating the touchpad drivers to 16.3.7.0 A03, there has been an issue with two-finger scrolling.
When I lift my fingers off the touchpad, it jumps to the bottom of the page. This is very frustrating as I have to scroll back up to find my place. This happens with Chrome, Word, IE, Firefox, everything.
The same issue is also plaguing this user: [URL] .....
Just got a brand new laptop, Dell Inspiron 11 3137, and updated to windows 8.1. The touchpad does not work properly now; gestures/scrolling/pointer not working. I've spent over 16 hours getting windows 8.1 installed and then troubleshooting this issue. I've contacted Dell; updated the driver from Dell, even tried installing the latest driver from Synaptic. I even tried setting the Synaptic app to run under the windows 8 version.
Touchpads have been around a long time. It's the last thing I expect not to work properly.
At this point I am ready to send the laptop back and call it quits on windows.
Now that the new MBPs have arrived, they come with a new feature called inertial scrolling (like flick-scrolling on the iPhone).
Is this feature specifically hardware dependent or could this feature be implemented into the OS via a application like Bettertouchtools?
Are there any apps out there right now that has this feature?
My friend has an XPS m1330 that cannot scroll in certain places. For example, on the program list in the Start Menu, it cannot scroll up or down. It shows the "scrolling" symbol next to the mouse cursor. This same problem occurs in certain games.
All drivers have been installed. Is this just a Synaptics issue?
I can't scroll down with my arrow keys on my laptop. Remember some button popped up last week or so and i absentmindedly clicked yes,
and have no idea what it said, so I think i may have inadvertently typed in some kind of anti scroll code or something like that
I have seen some drivers/hacks/etc for the Synaptics trackpads that allow two finger scrolling and some other multi-touch gestures. Does such a thing exist for the E6400? I'm running Windows 7x64.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem with my TravelMate 800.
The mouse and keyboard are involved. When attempting to type (in Word or in a web-browser), the cursor will immediately scroll downdown, and will only stop when pressing the "escape" key. When you start typing again, the problem re-occurs, making typing extremely frustrating. The "page down" key also doesn't work.
When restarting, a blank screen will appear with a blinking "-" cursor at the top of the screen, and the notebook will beep nonstop until you press a key. Windows will then slowly load. It is not a virus problem as I've checked using Norton Antivirus, and removed
spyware.
I believe it's most probably a software problem, and have tried to repair my system, but the recovery CDs didn't work. I got fed up and tried to format the notebook.... at first, the system CD loaded, but wouldn't go anywhere and there was a "not ready reading from drive z: abort, retry or fail" option, and none of the options worked. After attempting to reboot the second time, it would come up to a point saying:
PS/2 device found
EGA/VGA connected
Mouse driver installed
has any1 noticed that virtual scrolling stops working after uve just watched a fullscreen flash video from sites like youtube?
View 8 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know of any option to enable two-finger trackpad scrolling on the M4400's Alps trackpad under Windows 7?
I've seen the "2 finger" software hack for Synaptic trackpads, but that doesn't apparently work on these Alps trackpads .....
For some reason my CPU usage starts jumping up to around 80% whilst scrolling on wepages, pdfs, etc.
