View 1 RepliesI recently installed the "new" drivers for the windows 8 upgrade for the Aspire 5250. (After upgrading I did not install the drivers until recently.) Since I installed the driver, the side-scroll on the touchpad isn't working. Is there a way to turn it on?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Acer Aspire 5590 and where my mouse pad is the left button ( left click ) is broken like it moves and doesn't click properly. I was wondering if you guys know how I could fix this or get a new button?
View 6 Replies View RelatedThe right click button does not work on the mouse pad, as well as on a usb mouse. I have used Acer factory recover disks to restore it to out of the box condition. Same issue. If you use control panel to switch buttons then the only thing that happens is the cursor moves no click at all. Also after a period of time letting the computer warm up suddenly the cursor is working but even the left click will not function it will highlight the icon but not allow you to click it. I am wondering is the only solution to replace the motherboard since it appears to be a heat aggravated problem. And before I forget, yes I have replaced the drivers a couple of times clean install as well
View 1 Replies View RelatedIts super irritating that the charms pops up when accidentily touching the mousepad to close to the edge. My PC is not a tablet and why this is activated in the first place is to me sstrange. I want to completly remove all edge guestures on my mousepad. I have tryed to install the last driver because someone said that the option was added in the new driver, but no luck.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've had this Aspire for a while but I never got the media keys (play, stop, etc) to work.
Another thigs that doesn't work is the scroll key below the touch pad.
How can I get them to work? I feel like something has to be configured/installed.

View 2 Replies View Relatedis there any way to control the fan speed of this lap top?
I have tried speedfan, rivatuner, even tried the undervolting option with RMClock (no success - the CPU was running at the lowest voltage already).
One option did present some signs of activity - Acer Asprie One (!) Fan Control utility. However, it only switched off the fan completely. Besides that, it was quite unstable and sometimes forgot to turn the fan back on after the threshold of temperature was crossed again.
By the way: computer doesn't get hot at all. The feel is quite cool, as Speedfan utility indicates these temperatures:
GPU: 41C
HD0: 36C
Temp1: 54C
Core0: 30C
Core1: 27C
It appears that I love this lap top almost for everything, except its loud operating sound.
I am running at:
ACER 5739G
Vista 32 bit,
Chipset: Intel PM45
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T6600
GPU: GeForce GT 130M
I have had this tablet for less than one week. Under settings in windows 8.1 modern interface is a control slider for the screen brightness. it does not appear to do anything. I would like to be able to change screen brightness suit my needs, but I cannot make this work. What settings I need to change or maybe software I need to update? There is one Acer driver update which does not load properly and always says fail. I believe it has to do with screen settings. Could that be the problem?

I have an ACER Aspire R7 win8.1 and I have a problem with the touchscreen. The touchscreen is scrolling up and down by iself out of control, without touching it.
I run anti-virus and anti-malware and everything seems normal. I finally disable the touchscreen in system and everything is fine using the mouse.

I have had this laptop for about a year now and ever since I bought it it has had major throttling issues while gaming. I have tried many ways to make it run cooler with no such luck (It runs at about 95*C when playing most games) . The fan never runs at 100%, only aboout 70% (from what I can hear) so I was wondering if their was a way I could control the fan in order to run it at 100%.
Is it possible to control the fan speed on my Acer Aspire 7736Z-4088 laptop? If so then how is it done?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter logging in I get stuck in a black screen with cursor. Have tried shift or control with f8 and f12 to get out of this with no success. Understand I may have to reinstall video driver or BIOS?
If I leave laptop on all day it is working by the time I get home from work.
Acer manual suggested password control can be changed in BIOS. I have Aspire E5-511P. The security page in BIOS does not work. I can scroll with arrows in other pages but nothing happens on Security page. Password at boot has Disabled but every boot asks for password. Is there a repair for BIOS? Also, the Support page on this site does not recognise my model of Aspire.

View 3 Replies View RelatedStartup seems to be going as spec., Acer logo appears, circular arrow goes round then screen goes opaque but obviously still lit. Curser still responds but that's the end of the action.
View 5 Replies View RelatedGot an acer 5742 running windows 7. All of a sudden the display has stopped working.
It boots fine and the display works up to the point of "starting windows". I see the windows logo for a bit then it goes off.
If I plug into an external display it works fine. In graphics properties, the display isnt even listed (only the external display shows up).
I have an aspire5734z laptop and can no longer control the volume with the Fn up arrow/down arrow buttons. Have no display of vol, wireless or cap lock any more. I've been through everything I can think of in control panel and can't find an answer.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe mouse part of it works perfectly, as does the right clicker - but the left one is completely useless, which isn't good as that's the most important one.
I noticed this a few weeks ago that it was no longer as 'secure' as the right one, i.e. is seemed to be giving way on one side of the left clicker, and was moving about a bit in it's place. Now it's gotten progressively worse and no longer is able to click even, so it doesn't work and I have had to plug in an optical mouse to the usb port.
I lifted the little mouse clicker slot up with a knife to see what is wrong but all that seems to be the problem is that it is incredibly loose and no longer sits straight in its positioning. Underneath both clickers there is a small button attached to the mainboard and obviously the clicker needs to touch this to perform its' actions. But the left one doesn't seem to be reaching..
So basically I want to know is it likely that Acer would repair this for me? The laptop is still under warranty.
I guess the only long-term solution is an entire new mousepad, which would be expensive.
And that'd suck because 3/4 of it works perfectly and it's just this one button.
My acer loaded in xp as normal but my keypad and mousepad were unresponsive so i did a clean install with xp(not acer recovery) that ran through to when you do user input and froze again now i have a new hd and the same thing is happening except when i load into safe mode then everything is fine,
