View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got this laptop for a month and the touchpad is making me frustrating. The cursor lags, the drag function sometimes not working, the primary and secondary buttons interchange (the settings are not changed), and the left or right-click does not work properly. I got downloading the drivers of the mouse to restoring the pc to its original settings. Currently, the bios is updated but it is still happening though the update made the touchpad to become more responsive than before.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought one for a customer, and it's been a nightmare. I've done all of the suggestions and ended up taking it to an authorized repair facility. They "reset" it and said it was fixed. Of course it was not. Acer has to provide a fix as it is their product that does not function correctly.

Tried Synaptics but that did not work. Dell's download site only has ALPS fixes.
Anyone know the right driver? Is the D410 touchpad even capable of this?
Do I need to customize in the settings or use third party software?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've just bought a used Dell Latitude D830 (UK, XP SP2) and find the touchpad won't scroll. Otherwise pad, trackpoint and buttons all work ok.
I went into Control Panel assuming that the scroll areas weren't set up. Not so - unlike on my old C640, there are no separate Synaptics set-up tabs. Nothing - and it claims there's a Microsoft mouse plugged into PS2 .
I bought a dell xps 13 a few months ago. I was pretty happy with its performance untill a few days ago, when its touchpad refuses to scroll periodically. While it is refusing to scroll, other multi-finger gestures like zoom, pinch etc work. Also, touchscreen scroll and mouse scroll also work. Problem doesn't go away even if I disable and re enable the driver. It sometimes goes away on its own, or on restarting the computer.
I use windows 8.1
I installed the touchpad driver. I am not able to access the touchpad settings when I click on the ones with the yellow arrow. Nothing happens. I want to turn off tap to click.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have followed advice on changing settings on the mousepad in the control panel, in my settings it shows I have enabled (ticked) all of 2 finger scrolling vertical and horizontal and one finger scrolling vertical and horizontal, and have clicked apply, however the touchpad still won't let me scroll on pages. All i can use the touchpad for is to click and moe the pointer around the page. It used to work until recently and I only bought the laptop in January. This is very frustrating as i bought the laptop for study use as an open uni student I have to read a lot of journals so thesudden lack of non scrolling is extremely awkward.
I have tried the changing of settings (once I found the control panel) already so how to get this to work again.
since the start, the scroll option will sometimes work, and sometimes not... i've written to lenovo (On site warranty) and they switched out my motherboard + touchpad. That didnt work either, sometimes it works fine, but sometimes it just wont react at all?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt appears that the only way to scroll with the current driver is the two finger scroll. I need a driver that will allow me to edge scroll, that is using one finger on the far right of the touchpad for scrolling. Bonus points if the driver allows "momentum" and doesn't mess up other stuff.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy computer is the dell 1747 Studio Laptop running Windows 7 Professional. It has the built-in Synaptics Touch Pad. When you drag your finger on the far right side of the pa, it auto scrolls through the document on the screen.
I use my Laptop almost exclusively with a remote desktop connection. I process large documents (some as many as 200 pages). If I accidentally drag my hand or finger up or down on the left side of the touch pad, it begins to scroll. Since it is a remote desktop connection, it will not stop scrolling until it reaches the end of the document either up or down. I have to sit and wait for it to finish scrolling before I can use the computer again.
I would like to know how to turn OFF auto scrolling on the touch pad. There is a "wheel" setting in the device setup menu but you can only turn it down to "1" not "zero".
I have a MacBook Pro (MBP) with OSX 10.5.6. I use Logitech Bluetooth (BT) mouse and it works OK under OSX.
However, in Boot Camp running Windows XP SP2, the scroll wheel does not work. Everything else, like left and right buttons work. I tried it with another BT mouse and it's the same thing.
If I tried using regular wireless mouse, everything works.
Under control panel: mouse properties tab hardware, there is no mouse shown. The same with device manager, there is no mouse listed. Changing mouse settings has no effect. There is still no mouse pointer, even though I can see it move when I hover over icons, I can click, and I can locate the pointer when I press ctrl (radar symbol). As soon as I plug in an external mouse, the mouse point appears, a mouse appears under mouse properties hardware, and I can move the pointer via touch pad also.
