View 1 Replies View RelatedHP Pavilion dv7 laptop which came loaded with Windows 7, I upgraded it to Windows 8 but now the Touch Pad scrolling is not working.
I have tried;
updating the driverreinstalled original drivertroubleshoot compatibility on the originaltried a battery remove / hold power button option These have not fixed my scroll at all. No other gestures are working either... The Synaptics pointing devide driver is installed at this time.
The only thing I CAN DO is point-and-click on by touchpad.
I have followed advice on changing settings on the mousepad in the control panel, in my settings it shows I have enabled (ticked) all of 2 finger scrolling vertical and horizontal and one finger scrolling vertical and horizontal, and have clicked apply, however the touchpad still won't let me scroll on pages. All i can use the touchpad for is to click and moe the pointer around the page. It used to work until recently and I only bought the laptop in January. This is very frustrating as i bought the laptop for study use as an open uni student I have to read a lot of journals so thesudden lack of non scrolling is extremely awkward.
I have tried the changing of settings (once I found the control panel) already so how to get this to work again.
I've had this Aspire for a while but I never got the media keys (play, stop, etc) to work.
Another thigs that doesn't work is the scroll key below the touch pad.
How can I get them to work? I feel like something has to be configured/installed.
It's a Windows 8 precision touchpad, but I cant find how set the scrollspeed. It scrolls to slow for my taste...
Laptopmodel is Aspire ES1-512. Windows 8.1
I have bought a ES1-512-C5YW and for some reason i cant get the scroll function to work on the touchpad ...

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Acer Aspire E1 571, and i installed windows 8 pro, then upgrade to 8.1 pro, now my ram show that i have 6 Gig ram but only 2.45 available.
I tried to reinstall windows but it wont, i tried to use acer recovery( at boot press Alt + F10). nothing happens. Same when I tried to install i trough windows itself, after i enter the product key, it ask what i want to keep( nothing) then it shows that there is things that i need to resolve, but there is only a blank page that shows nothing.
I also tried to boot from the disk, but when i press istall now, an error pops up, saying that the product key i entered is invalid. but it never asked for one.
My Acer is having real trouble with Windows Updates. They download, then some of them install and I have to restart. BUT then it tells me most of them have failed, and now I have 56 updates that I'm told need downloading and installing. When I do the update/install I don't do anything else as the laptop is just so slow at the best of times.
Should I swap from Wi-Fi to an Ethernet cable?
My Acer laptop, (not a touch screen), specs are: Aspire V5-123-12104060nkk, Model ZHL Windows 8.1 - AMD E - Series (E1 - 2100, 1 GHz, 1 MB) - 29.5 cm (11.6") LED - 16:9 HD - Active Matrix TFT Colour LCD - ComfyView - AMD Radeon HD 8210 - 4 GB DDR3 SDRAM - 500 GB Serial ATA. It's a 64-bit.
I recently got this laptop, Acer Aspire E5-521-23kh with windows 8.1. I have it set up as a desktop so to speak, using a monitor with hdmi cable, wireless keyboard and mouse, and have speakers that use the headphone jack. Just yesterday I started having issues with the sound, it would suddenly turn off even with my speakers powered on. Restarting the computer, or disabling the speakers and then enabling them works, but it turns off eventually. And today I've had the sound working but has static/distortions with the sound.
I don't think it's an issue with the plug in speakers, as I've unplugged them and sound still wasn't coming out of the laptop speakers. But using troubleshooting for windows, it says there are no problems with sound. I've checked in device manager, and under audio inputs/output I've checked that all devices had up to date drivers. I've only had this laptop for a month, and what the cause could be.
When I check the Bluetooth driver in device manager, there's a message that says "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged (code 19).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an Aspire V5-571G... I updated to Windows 8.1 (64bit) a few days ago.
Since the update, when playing audio on iTunes (was 11.3 but now updated to 11.4 both post win 8.1 anyway)/Windows Media Player and on YouTube & other sites, audio has stopped working completely or become extremely distorted. Sometimes it works fine but never for extended periods of time. I'm not sure what triggers the distortion and silence but it has ONLY been happening since the 8.1 update.
I updated the RealTek sound drivers with the driver for my model from the Acer website and it has not improved the situation. I've been looking around for a solution / cause of the problem and the only questionable driver I have is this: There's no update for this on the Acer site r.e. my model and the Windows online update thing cannot find an update either.
If it's not possible to fix this via updating or tweaking 8.1, is it possible to do a system restore back to Win 8 without removing my files and if so how?
I have recently upgraded to windows 8.1 on my Acer Aspire and unfortunately since then, Dolby Advanced Audio V2 refuses to work. I have uninstalled my audio drivers, and re-installed with the latest versions, I have uninstalled DAAV2 and re-installed, and it still does not work. I'm not really sure where to go from here. It launches properly and you can turn it on and off, but ultimately, it does not show any difference between having it on anymore or off. As well as the fact that the little panel you open where it shows the bars while you play music, doesn't move at all. I use my Acer Aspire mainly for music and youtube videos and the like, so this is rather important to me.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had my aspire e1 touch for a couple months now and a couple weeks in it randomly wouldn't detect the touch ability. I have to shut the laptop down and back on again for it to work (simple restart won't work) It's a new computer so I haven't upgraded any os, it's running with the Windows 8.1 it came with and I have chrome as the browser. It seems to happen when I wake it from sleep, not in the middle of using it. When the touch is not working, the device manager doesn't even detect that touch is an option (it's hidden, but grey and cannot be enabled)....

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought my Acer Aspire V5-552g a week ago. Everything seems to be working fine. However, Windows advised me to install updates which I did. After installing the updates the touch gestures are not working anymore. I tried updating my drivers, which I downloaded from the Acer support site, but it did not work. All gestures are not working. What I need to do. Is this a result of updating Windows? How can I undo the update?
