I'm looking into buying this laptop. Certain online websites, such as Acer's, have said that it's maximum resolution is up to 1920 1080, but I am not sure if this is true for all model of the 6930. Other websites say that it only goes up to 1300 something.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy TV's native resolution is 1366 x 768. My VAIO FW-190 has Intel Chipset and both the Windows built in software and Intel provided graphic card settings software do not show the 1366x768 resolution. I can't find a way to set the Vaio's HDMI output to that resolution.

I have connected a Dell U2713HM to my W530 using mini-DP->HDMI adapter (type2-ps8402a) and then a HDMI cable.
Most i can select is 1920x1080, but the U2713HM has de capacity to run 2560x1440
I recently purchased a Yoga 2 pro and a Dell U2713HM montior. The monitor will suport 2560x1440. I am using a Toshiba Dynadock usb 3.0 docking station. I can't get the screen display to be above 2048x1152. I've tried the dvi, vga and hmdi on the docking station. What is the maximum resolution for a second montior for the Yoga Pro 2? How to get the yoga pro 2 to output a higher resolution? It would be disappointing if the max is 2048x1152 on a 27" monitor.

The display that I'm looking to buy is running 2560 x 1080.
I have recently bought ThinkPad E540 with OneLink Pro Dock, in which I have connected my LG Flatron IPS236 external display. LG's max resolution is Full HD 1920x1080, but for some reason my external display's max resolution is only 1280x1024. The display is attached to the OneLink Pro Dock's DVI port. I have both updated the graphic card's drivers and LG monitor's drivers and booted the system. I have also tried using both 75 hertz and 60 hertz refresh rates.

I am trying to determine the maximum memory and configuration for my Apire 5745G i5. Is there somewhere I'm supposed to be able to find this information? I couldn't see it in any of the manuals. How much memory can I run total? How much per slot?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a FW 290 with the ati graphics card. When I connect the laptop to my tv with the hdmi cable the resolution is displayed correctly on the tv at 1920*1080. However, when I disconnect the cable the laptop resolution goes to 1440*900 instead of 1600*900. So there are black lines on the edges of the screen. If I go to display settings or to the ati catalyst control center I cannot change the resolution back to 1600*900. 1440*900 is displayed as the max. The only way I can fix this is by restarting the computer.

However, when I connect the HDMI cable to my laptop, the maximum resolution my display settings will allow is 1024x768. View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Aspire E15's brightness is locked at maximum capacity. I can't change it in power options or with the Fn key. It is the same whether connected to the AC adapter or not. While using the Fn key and pressing Fn+Left Key or Fn+Right Key, the on-screen brightness indicator alternates between two levels but the brightness of the screen doesn't change.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI decided to try playing some 720p video on my Sanyo 42" LCD HDTV (native res 1366x768). I assumed it would be as easy as just connecting an HDMI cable and setting my m1530 to clone desktop.. I couldn't have been more wrong.
After doing some research it appears that LCD HDTVs aren't as flexible as regular LCD monitors with respect to HDMI input. No matter what I do, the screen always appears cropped around the edges on my TV.
What I've tried so far:
1) Setting a custom 1366x768 resolution in the nVidia control panel.
2) Tried setting my hdtv as primary monitor and setting the res.
3) Used Powerstrip (program) in an attempt to force a 1366x768 res (not sure if I'm doing this entirely correctly, I'm a little confused over what the correct advanced timings should be).
4) I hear this issue is called "overscan", so I looked through my TV menu for any overscan or zoom/image scaling options but couldn't find any.
I'm using the 179.28 Nvidia driver.
I'm running out of things to try, does anyone know how to make this thing work?
Does anybody know whether is it possible to drive either 2560x1600 or 2560x1440 external monitor with Core-i5 Sony Z HDMI output or docking station?
View 10 Replies View RelatedHow can I get the exact resolution of 1360x768 (720p) in my HP dv2700 using the HDMI cabel? I currently have the 179.48 drivers installed and I couldnt figure a way to get a 1360x768 !? I tried using customs resolution but it wont work, the TV (samsung) keeps giving me a 1920x1080 which is not the native resolution.
I also own a desktop with an Nvidia 8800gt graphics card and it recognizes the 1360x768 resolution immediately, I dont why this is happening since both the laptop and desktop use similar drivers?

I am trying to get 2560x1440 graphics to be broadcast to my external monitor over HDMI
When I try to create a custom resolution in the Graphics Control Panel one of three things happens.
1. I get a message saying that the resolution I am trying to create isn't possible
2. I create the custom resolution, however when I try to adjust it in the Screen Resolution menu Windows tells me that it can't broadcast the resolution.
3. The resolution broadcasts, but it is terrible quality, and looks like it is vibrating.
*Note: I had this setup previously, but I had to reinstall Windows recently, downgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 7, and now I can't get it to work.
I purchased a Vaio Z last week from SonyStyle (CTO - 6GB RAM, Windows 7 pre-installed, Fresh Start etc).
Everything on the system seems great, but I am having an issue with HDMI output selection thru the Vaio Centre software.
I am thinking of getting the Dell UltraSharp U2713HM external monitor and use it with my y510p Lenovo laptop. My question is: Is there any way to get the 2560x1440 resolution out of the monitor using only VGA or HDMI port of this laptop?
View 9 Replies View RelatedVery often, when my 5920G boots, it changes from the native 1280x800 resolution to 1024x768. Because of that, the icons mess up and I have to change the resolution and then put the icons back at their place.
There is roughly 75% chance this will happen when my laptop boots.
Adding this with my other problems makes using this 5920G a frustrating experience!
This started happening months ago, when I reformated the laptop the problem had gone, and now it reappeared.
Had my Acer Aspire 8930 for 11 months now and I've always assumed it displayed images at 1920 x 1080 because of the blu ray drive and the fact it has a sticker on the front of the laptop which says 'FULL HD 1080 PLAYBACK'.
I've just gone into my display settings and it says 1680 x 945!
That is on the highest setting possible.
The sticker on the side of the box it came in says;
Aspire 8930G - 584G32Bn which according to [url] states at the top in the summary it boasts 1920 x 1080.
How can the sticker on my laptop claim full HD at 1080? Do I have the wrong screen on my laptop or am I missing something?
From what i see from the Acer Aspire Gemstone official page. It would seem like all models in that series has 1020p display regardless of screen size from the specifications page.
However, I have two laptops in question right now.
First is my friend's 6935G which is featured in the official page and is said to have a Full HD display on its 16" screen. However, the maximum resolution available on my the laptop is only 1366x768. Furthermore, there is a sticker on the laptop indicating "Full 1020p HD display" and no, I did not get confused with it over the "Full 1020p HD Playback"
Secondly, is my own personal 6930Z which is essentially almost the same except the lack of the 9600GT, biometric fingerprint reader and blu-ray player found in the 6935G thus its low price. As seen from the website, the WHOLE series is supposed to have 1020p resolution display which mine is part of. However, my max display resolution capable is also the same as the 6935G although mine doesn't have the sticker that the 6935G has. I'm not complaining due to mine being a budget model but shouldn't the 6935G have the touted 1020p display?
My brother just bought an Acer Aspire 3680.He purchased 1 gig of DDR2 Memory from Crucial. When we get to the desktop the screen is fine at first then the screen goes off and back on with 8 bit display. 512 DDR2 came in the machine. Crucial site said he could mix memory sizes. I tried it with the 1 gig stick by itself in case the mixed memory was the problem. Same thing..I've tried 2 sticks of 512...same thing. I've tried 2 sticks of 1 gig each..same problem. This laptop won't allow any upgrade at all. Will only run correctly with (1) 512 stick. I've never seen this problem before. I've installed many memory sticks in computers. This is a first for me. What could be causing this?? Any advice would be appreciated. BTW. the computer shows the upgrade amount of memory but the display color keeps changing to 8 Bit! I change it back to 32 and it reverts back after a few moments to 8 Bit. I went to Acer and installed an updated driver for the Intel Graphics card thinking the driver would help. I haven't installed a bios update yet. Called Acer and they said to return it for repair.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got my new Acer Aspire V14 touch (Windows 8.1) and want to connect it to my Sharp Aquos LC-32DA5U TV via HDMI. I can see the picture but cannot adjust the screen resolution to the native resolution recommended for this TV (1366x768). Funny enough this is exactly the resolution my laptop is using.
When I force use of this resolution via show all in the display properties, then I don't get a picture but just a black screen on my TV.
Is there any other driver etc that I need to install to make this work? It worked perfectly fine as PnP with my old Lenovo computer under Windows 7.

My TV is Panasonic TH-L32B6. When I connect my laptop to TV it shows me awful picture quality and notification that “this is not optimal screen resolution for the primary display. The optimal res. Is 1280x720”. But with 1280x720 it’s still awful. It works fine just with 1024x768 res. I have no such a problem with my other TV LG 47LS570Y. How can i fix picture quality with higher resolution? I tried another OS like Ubuntu and a couple of hdmi cables…(see attachment)
