Acer :: Extensa 4620Z USB Ports Inactive During XP Install

I have an Acer Extensa 4620Z and I am trying to do a fresh install of XP. I have found all the drivers for XP for this system including the AHCI driver for the serial drive (since the bios will not let me switch to a different mode).
Once I start the XP install, F6 and select the correct driver from the floppy drive connected via USB port all is good. The install sees the hard drive and begins the install. However, once that process starts I am again prompted for the Intel Controller driver and the reason it now does not find it appears to be simply that the USB ports go dead at some point between the initial start of the install and this point.

My wife dropped her Extensa 4620z. It's working fine, but it broke the pin inside the yellow power connector jack. If I could get to it, I could epoxy the pin in place and perhaps solder the jack to the mobo. But, I can't get the freaking thing open! I removed all the screws and removed the lower panel, but I have no idea how to get the laptop open. how to disassemble the laptop

broadcom 802.11g network adapter is not working on extensa 4620z.
i just installed win xp pro on acer extensa 4620z which came pre-installed with linpus linux.
all is well except that the broadcom wireless g adapter is not working. in device manager, it says "Windows cannot load drivers for this hardware. the driver may be corrupted or missing.(code 39).
i tried downloading the driver from acer europe site and installed again but it still has the same problem. the driver on the cd which came with the laptop and the one which i downloaded from acer site is the same.
are there any other drivers or any other program which needs to be installed for this?

I bought an Acer (Extensa EX760-47) laptop in December here in Toronto. It came with Win Vista Home Premium. It gradually started to get very slow. Therefore using the Fdisk, i wiped out everything on the hard drive (HDD). Afterward, i insert its System Recovery DVD that came with it in order to to do a clean installation from the scratch. However, i get an error statement " No Partition found", after i inserted the above-mentioned Recovery DVD.
Now, i don't know what i should do in order to re-install the OS again. I have no phone number for Acer to call for support. And they didn't reply to my email for help, i sent them a few days ago. So, i'm stucked. I don't know what to do. What should i do in order to have my laptop running again?
Do you think i'll succseed installing the OS if i format my Acer laptop using a third-party partition software (such as Partition Magic), and then insert the Recovery DVD?
Or do you think i need to buy a full version of Windows Vista DVD in order to be able to install the Operating System (OS) on this frustrating Acer laptop?

Every thing is contradicting itself from the notebook itself stating its a Intel® Pentium® Processor T2370 (1M Cache, 1.73 GHz, 533 MHz FSB)
and the documents for this notebook on your site is contradicting to each other and the notebook labels/cpu inside it.....................

I have bought the Aspire 5738G over half a year ago and it was just a couple of days back from now, when Everest showed me a hardware report about an integrated Intel 4500MHD onboard, which is inactive.
I couldn't find any info on this matter online, so I thought that with your help and my readiness to disassemble my laptop, we could figure out a way to make use of this integrated chip, which would result in serious power savings when running on battery.
I am thinking that maybe there is some place in the circuitry that was cut in order to disable the chip or something, or that it has no access to the LCD and HDMI ports.
Also, I downloaded a Service Manual for my model and I couldn't find my 5738G specification in it.

my friend's laptop was to the point of no return so I wiped the HDD, popped a legit copy of vista in, (no recovery disks available), and proceeded to install it. Unfortunately right after where you enter the product key, the screen entitled "where do you want to install windows?" doesn't have a drive listed. I've tried switching from AHCI to IDE, boot order, etc. Could anyone explain to me how i can just install crappy vista again?

After a fresh install of Win 7 Pro 64bit, I'm not able to get the drivers installed for the 2 3.0 USB ports on the left hand side of this laptop. I did install the chipset, which is supposed to include the drivers for those ports, as the first driver installed after the fresh install of Win 7 but it doesn’t seem to work.

I recently did a fresh install of Windows 7 and now the USB ports don't work. No USB drivers are listed on HP's driver downloads for DV6-7100 series.

I am pretty sure I just don't have the right drivers. I installed the Renesas drivers from the HP downloads page but they didn't solve the issue(so I uninstalled them).

Every since i had my Hp envy dv7 i have always used the finger detector to log in up until i updated to 8.1 last week. my finger detector is inactive whilst i seem not recall my password any means to login has proven futile... I need to work on my and other documents as well.

Windows 8.1, 64bit, all drivers up to date, Nvidia 730m, intel 4600. Fairly new issue (couple of months), laptop wakes from sleep but display does not function, everything seems to be working normally during, just no display. Forced to hard restart.

Just avoiding using sleep mode for now. Seems to be a software issue, upgraded to 8.1 when purchased almost a year ago, worked fine until recently.

I wish to disable the touch pad on my Inspiron 1545 with Windows 8.. I have a Logitech wireless mouse. Currently both the mouse and the touch pad operate the curser. I want to only use the mouse. In Windows 7 the default was mouse only as soon as the wireless interface was installed. This is not the case with Windows 8.
I've been told to go to the Device driver and select the touch pad under Mouse and other pointers. The touch pad is not listed. I've tried disabling the PC Mouse compatible but the disable button is inactive.

I have a Dell Latitude E6430 laptop running windows 7 64-bit. Â When I try to use it with a docking station, the USB ports on the docking station do not work. Â When I try to use a USB mouse with it, it only works with one of the USB ports. Â When I try using my printer (HP laserjet 1320) through the USB ports, it doesn't work (it did previously with a Dell latitude E6430 running windows 7 64-bit).
I've installed the latest BIOS upgrade, updated the USB and intel chipset drivers. Â How do I get these working?

I just installed XP Pro on my Acer Extensa 4630Z and I installed all the drivers successfully but the wireless driver. I tried all the drivers from acer's support site [url] none of them work. I also tried what worked for Davoucci with same laptop but this driver also doesn't work for me

I installed Windows XP SP 2 without SATA and everything was running perfectly exept i was getting BSOD from time to time . Recently (one month ago) i installed Windows 7 .
Performance in ordinary work and in programs is now excellent but...... There is another side of the medal. PC games . When i intsalled ACER graphicks drivers i runned my games with stuttering . Also with ATI drivers(9.12) modded by Mobility driver threre is no stuttering but i can play only in low resoluitions like 800 600, 640 480 etc. What is the problem ? I really dont like XP and i like Windows 7.

Ever since I bought this laptop I've had an issue of it shutting itself down. Almost always while watching youtube videos. I found out about the handy little tool called coretemp and I see my processors running about 68+ nearly all the time. When I have websites loaded that have flash animations, ads, videos (youtube), it only gets hotter and hotter. It nearly always reaches 90+ (Celsius) and then shuts down.
I read about it needing a bios update for many people who say they have the problem with the laptop screen going black, but I think mine is heat related.
My laptop runs around 68 when idle and when busy it gets hot. Right now I have Google Chrome open with two tabs, one is this webpage and the other is gmail and its running at 75 celsius. Performance tab in task manager says it has a processor load of only 1%.
I keep a watch on the temperature and as long as I start closing programs and windows when it reaches around 80 it will start to cool down. So as long as I can keep an eye on it the laptop will run fine for days with no problems. If I forget to check and it gets too hot it'll shut down. I'll check the logs and sure enough the last few lines of the last log file will look something like this ...

Why does the fan run so damn much? I know that the bottom of the laptop does not get hot like Compaq and Sony, but it is damn annoying. There seems to be two speeds, one that is low and runs silently, and the high...this is the problem.

I just bought 2x2gb ram from my Acer Extensa 5610 and my Windows 7 x64 can see it right, but only use 3gb. Resource monitor says the other 1gb is Hardware reserved. In the Bios theres an info saying extended memory 3gb. Is that what the problem is? coz its not something I can set in this version of bios.
Do i have to upgrade my bios? if so, to what version? The manual clearly says i can upgrade to 4gb. (extensa 5610 has intel 945 chipset)

Have you guys heard about Acer's Extensa line of products? Well, so far I've just seen them in Acer sites from Asia, and I was wondering how many people actually use them already.
Another thing, I was also looking for someone who particularly owns an Acer Extensa 4630G--the most recent budget one (I think) with Intel C2D T5800, ~4GB 667MHz RAM, I think with 320GB Harddrive, and ~nVidia 9300M GS~ (256MB dedicated)
For people who own this kind of notebook (or those with the 4630ZG, the one with the Pentium Dual Core instead of C2D), how does the notebook handle? Does it heat up easily? Does it perform well with relatively recent games/3D modelling applications etc.?

I just purchased a acer extensa 4630Z and it has vista home premium on it. I want to downgrade it to xp, but when i put the a oem xp cd in while the system is booting up it preloads all the xp files but then get a blue screen with error 0x0000007b. How can I get a xp cd that will support this laptop?
I know you can use nlite to make a custom xp cd but I cant seem to find the right drivers to do so. I seen some people add slipstream drivers for aspires but this is different.

I got this laptop about 2 months ago from best buy here in canada. It came with windows vista. The first thing i did when i got home was format my hard drive and installed windows xp pro.
All is well but I cant get my bluetooth working. the blue light does not come on at all and when i let the launch manager load with windows and try to use the bluetooth it says no device found.
This laptop came bluetooth enabled so WTF man!

i find in this web more and very good information about notebooks, with this information can i upgrade the CPU of my Acer 5715Z from a T2370 to a T7500, and i know this chipset 965 can i ugprade more, but know i have a very good offer to buy a cheap notebook Acer Extensa 5230 with a Celeron M575, and put in this one my T7500 to upgrade this bad cpu celeron.
But, there's always a but, i search information in the web and i think this chipset is not compatible to upgrade a good CPU (not Celeron).

I got a new Acer Timeline 4810TZ-4011...It's great! BUT I can not see my usb flash drive, where I have some files to transfer to the Acer, when I connect it to the usb ports. Usually I can open My Computer Icon on my desktop old computer and I can see the pen drive...But how I do it now?

I'm running an Acer Aspire 5672 WLMI. Recently i upgraded my RAM and hard drive, obviously having to reinstall the OS and driver's etc. Since i made the change, i haven't been able to get the Orbicam or usb ports on the left side of my computer to work.
Luckily there are still 2 ports on the right side that work fine, and the entire rest of the computer is great, but i'd like these things to work (especially the camera). I've re-installed everything 3 times at this point with no luck. The drivers are installed and in programs the camera is listed as an optional webcam. The first time i reformatted i got and error message that said camera is currently in use and cannot be accessed. It would ding on and off repeatedly until i rebooted the computer. Currently what the camera does is basically nothing. It's detected, but when pulled up in a program (such as gmail or acer software) it's simply black. I am wondering if i maybe jostled something inside and it's disconnected or if this is a software issue.
