IDE to AHCI Here is what I have as IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller Intel ICH8M 3 port Serial ATA Storage Controller – 2828 Intel ICH8M Ultra ATA Storage Controllers – 2850 Primary IDE Channel Primary IDE Channel Secondary IDE Channel Secondary IDE Channel My laptop is a 5620z or 5620-4025 with a Hitachi HTS542512K9SA00 ATA Device. When I looked up this HD, it appears to be the standard SATA HD, or is it?
The original setup under VISTA, had ATA Channel 0 (twice) and ATA Channel 1 (twice) instead of the above Primary and Secondary IDE Channels.
The files to be used are in the requested C:Drive, yet I am reluctant to pull the trigger because I am not sure that I should nor am I sure which one of the above is the driver that is to be changed if when I make the change.
NO SOUND One other thing has be going in circles regarding sound with the Realtek software. The Manager in the 3D Audio Demo works fine………….but……..the MultiMedia, which is most important, indicates that there is NO Audio Device.
What audio plug (#1 or #2 in the picture) does my Aspire One A0725 laptop need to feed stereo audio out and mono audio in (or is it also stereo in). Â See the picture at the following Dropbox link [URL] ....
I had vista installed on my laptop, Acer 6920, (first OS) and it was direct from factory so everything worked fine. I then installed ubuntu and everything still worked fine. I then deinstalled both of those to put on windows 7 RC where all my hardware was working perfectly (minus the fingerprint reader but i honestly couldnt care about that thing) so my computer eventually got pretty bogged down with crap to the point where boot was about 30 minutes. during this whole time my sound seemed to work, but near the end windows stopped finding any internal sound related hardware (the speakers and the mic). For other reasons i did a clean reformat (3 times) and reinstalled 7 Professional 32 bit and when i booted i downloaded all the drivers and everything seemed to install correctly, but when i rebooted the sound still didnt work nor did the mic. the exact error message windows is giving me is "No Audio Output Device found" however when i plug in a headset or a bluetooth adapter + headphones there is audio and it works perfectly. I really need sound to work as some programs crash if they dont detect a sound output and also for monitoring audio recordings.
I have tried installing all of Realtek's drivers. Literally all of them. None of them worked what so ever despite clean installs and deinstalls.
I now am running 64bit and ive almost given up on this problem. I bearly saved this computer and i dont wanna have to buy a new because of sucha stupid issue like this. More info:
Under the hardware manager in windows there is no tree for sound devices. there was an unknown component which i put forceware on as i thought it was the sound device but no go.

I ordered new E6500 that came with Vista on it and I wiped that and have installed XP Pro SP2 on the machine. I have followed the guide on this page and installed everything in the correct order. The only thing that didn't install was the dial-up modem. It errored out and said "No MODEM device was found". Typically on the Latitude laptops I seem to remember installing the modem driver and it taking care of this entry in the device manager, but not this time.  There is a dial-up modem on the laptop and this is the only device that looks to not be installed. There is no webcam, WAN modem, or anything else like that.  Has problem with installing XP onto a E6500? Is the installer for the modem driver just bad or is there possibly something else going on.
The sound on my HP Pavilion G6-1a19wm is not working.  Sound "does" work when using the audio jack with external speakers. I have tried uninstalling the driver, updating the driver, microsoft fix-it, and troublshooting steps. audio device shows in device manager and is supposedly working properly, mute is "not' enabled. visually all audio related things suggest that the audio is fine and troubleshooting finds no problems..Â
I have HP envy 15 j002er laptop. Originally I got it with Windows 8 but then I changed operation system to Windows 7 Pofessional (64-bit).I can`t install IDT high definition audio codec on it. I guess that is the reason why I don`t have and I can`t use Beats Audio interface on my laptop (only speakers are working). There are no audio drivers for Windows 7 available for download on HP website. When I`m cheking for driver updates via HP support, it proposes me only updates for Chipset, Graphics, Network, etc.And no Audio Driver..How can I solve it and install IDT high definition audio codec?
I have recently bought a new probook450 g2 but whenever i play a video or audio file an interrupt occurs like a buzz after fixed interval, I don't know what to do ......
I have a hp pavilion 15-e078ea, core i5 processor, 2.6ghz, 8gb ram, windows 8.1 64bit....  After updating windows to 8.1 the dts audio control panel will not allow me to use audio enhancements or the graphic equalizer....  I have looked on hp support and done all driver updates and it is still not working....  I am assuming this is a software issue. will there be an update?
Yesterday I uninstalled IDT Audio driver by mistake. Now my NB doesn't have any sound. Where can I download the IDT audio installer for my NB?  Version that I use is showing as Windows 7 64 Home Prem OA.  Product Number: B5A09UA#ABA Model Name: HP Pavilion g6-2040nr Notebook PC
HP Pavilion dv6-7030tx Entertainment Notebook PC Windows 7 Intel i7-3610QM CPU @2.3GHz 8Gb Ram  I have no audio. It has been previously working, but suddenly stopped. On the small speaker icon there is a red cross indicating "No Audio Output Device is enabled" When I log on to the computer i get a window that says "CWindowsSystem32AUDIOSES.DLL is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error."  I have attempted to Troubleshoot but unable to get any sound. I have updated the Audio driver, but it is the up to date driver.

I have updated my HP Pavilion G6 2242sf to Windows 8.1 and the sound quality is not as good as in Windows 8 : In the Dolby control panel the equalizer works but switch the Dolby Advanced Audio checkbox has no effect so there is no more surround virtualization and the 3 effects "Movie", " Music", and "Voice" are not working anymore. Now my laptop speakers sounds choppy.
I downgraded from win 8 to win 7 with a clean install and although I have the sound workling I cant find the correct driver in other forum posts to get beats audio installed. Link to the correct download : Â Also I would like to get the on screen volume indicator back. Â Pavilion -15-p145na Windows 7 home premium 64bit
After i installed windows 8.1 64 bit on my device, the audio beats control doesn't appear and i don't know if it's working properly or not, and i don't know if it's built in the original speakers. Â My Device: HP Pavillion 15-p150ne OS: Windows 8.1 64 bit
I'm owning an ultrabook - HP SpectreXT 13-2106TU. No sounds coming out from my laptop for a few days now. I've tried troubleshooting - it says : IDT High Definition Audio CODEC has a driver problem.
I have a HP Pavilion G6-2252sa Notebook running Windows 8 and I have just installed 8.1. All is OK, except the equalizer function in Dolby Advanced Audio V2 is no longer working. You can still move the equalizer sliders but the actual sound quality remains the same. It just sounds flat as if all sliders are permanently set at zero.
So I recently purchased this powerhouse of a machine and absolutely love it. I have one problem though and it is a really bothersome one to me because i really enjoy listening to m music and use my laptop as an audio source for my higher end audio components.  I have an envy 15t-j000 touchsmart that i purchased in late july and received in mid august with the beats audio option.  Ever since I first powered on the computer the audio would skip or fluctuate. I would notice the fluctuation when plugged into my stereo via the 3.5mm headphone jack. It would sound like the volume would lsightly fluctuate or maybe miss some of the lower end frequencies.  The more noticeable problem is the skipping. It will make a skipping noise that sounds as if the computer is bogged down with material, even when all that is being performed is playback. It sounds like frequency in the lines. This will occur at random times under various circumstances. It occurs when playing a music file as well as streaming music through spotify or pandora or playing a video on youtube. The skipping occurs in all those circumstances in both output to another source (headphones or speakers) as well as playing through the built in speakers.  Is it possible I am missing a driver? Is the sound card messed up? Is it just a problem with the computer? is there a fix that doesn't require me sending it back to hp?Â
reinstalled windows 7Â and beats audio is missing. Â Product name: HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC Product number: A5F76AV Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1
I have an HP Pavillion g6 and the sound is not working at all. I tried troubleshooting the audio playback and then it started working. Then i realized only the system sounds started working. Â When i play a video or any audio on my browser (Google Chrome and Internet Explorer) it does not work, but when i play a video/audio downloaded onto the pc, it works. Why is that? Â I checked all my browser settings aswell and nothing is wrong.Â
Just updated to windows 8.1 and now my beats audio is not working on my HP ENVY x2 Tablet/PC. I am running windows 8.1 32-bit, Product name: HP ENVY X2 PC, Product number: C7F27AV, Serial number: 4CN312078X. Also my headphones are not working.Â
