I have download the device driver from the support page (Elantech touchpad) but still no joy.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my Studio 1555 for awhile now, and all is has been pretty fine. However, I just noticed that my eject button for the disc drive has stopped working. I rarely use it, but I have used it before.
I upgraded my bios today from A06 to A08 and went to install my new bluetooth mouse, and the eject button just does not respond at all. I can eject the disc from my computer > right clicking the drive and selecting "eject" so it's definitely the button.
I'm not sure if this is related to the bios upgrade or something else.. Computer spec's are in my signature and I'm running Windows 7 Professional, clean install.
I'm having an issue with the home button on my yoga 2 pro. When I press it it still vibrates but it no longer does anything.

My HP M6 Envy notebook TouchPad (Board ID: TM2054-001) Firmware has been updated with the wrong version (TM2251-001) Firmware. Now it does not work!!
Â
I am running Windows 8.1 with latest updates, and have exhausted things like hard reset, try different version of drivers, in fact, i have an other hard disk with fully operational Windows 7 that I also tried,... nothing worked..
Â
Does any Firmware image for the Synaptics TM2051-001 TouchPad ?? Or; how to create a backup firmware image file? I have another M6 Notebook that I can dumb the Firmware
I am intending to buy acer aspire 5738G next friday. But I cannot find any valuable reviews on the net . I am concerned about it build and durability. the specs are fine. can any one tell me is it strongly built and durable or not. I hear a lot about the acer screen damage and other stuff.
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy Latitude E6410 Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit machine crashed yesterday and when it came back up I was no longer able to use the touch-pad buttons below the touchpad, or the middle button above the touchpad. Â The pointer stick, along with the right and left button above the touchpad are still working properly.
I have tried reinstalled the ALPS driver and the Dell touchpad software. When I open the touchpad software it shows the touchpad as being enabled but it does not show any configuration for the pointer stick or buttons above the touchpad. what driver or application I need to install to get my touchpad and buttons operational again?
Touch pad is no longer working. I have had my Dell Inspiron 17R for abut 15 months and the touchpad has not worked for at least 12 of them. At first I noticed the problem after my computer would install updates and I'd have to restore the computer to a particular snapshot point. That worked for all of one week. Then I also checked the drivers. That was unsuccessful. I have also tried pressing F3 + Fn and nothing. I won't begin to mention that I have to hold this laptop a particular way to get it to turn on.... I do know, the touchpad on a basically new laptop is supposed to work and the device is supposed to turn on when you press the power button without having to do some form of sorcery.Â
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have owned my Dell M1330 notebook PC (specs in signature below) for over 4 years. Â Several weeks ago, the left and right-click touchpad buttons stopped working. Â The touchpad itself seems to be operating normally. Â Â I surmise I inadvertently deactivated the touchpad. Â I checked the manual, but it did not reveal how to reactivate (or deactivate) the touchpad buttons. How to reactivate the touchpad buttons, such as using the shortcut keys? Â I read one post in a PC forum of a similar situation; in that situation, the user's touchpad cable had come loose, but I understand this is a rare occurrence. How to reactivate the touchpad left and right-click buttons.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe SSD in my laptop (HP Pavilion dv7t-6c00 CTO Quad Edition) recently died, so I got a new 120GB SSD and installed a non-OEM version of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (this is because my SSD apparently isn't large enough for the Recovery Disks HP sent me -- long story). The past few days I've been installing all the necessary drivers, and just about everything is working like it did weeks ago. However, there is one problem: my TouchPad can no longer be turned off by double-tapping in the top-left corner.
Â
I've tried three different Synaptics TouchPad drivers. The one found on HP's website (v. 15.3.11.0), the one I get when I click "update driver software" in Device Manager (v. 15.3.29.0), and the one found on Synaptics' own website (v. 17.0.19). I've checked out "TouchPad Properties" for all of them, and they've not been of any support.
For my current driver, however, when I click on "settings" under "Tapping," there's an area called "TouchPad Disable Zone Settings," that has a checkbox that says: "Double Tap to Enable or Disable TouchPad". However, the entire area is grayed out, and I can't check or uncheck the box (though, for what it's worth, it is currently checked). I candisable it manually in the "TouchPad Settings" tab of "Mouse Properties," but I'd prefer to just get the shortcut functionality back.
Is there a way to "re-cushion" or do something to make the "press" of the button more with a nice, comfortable, normal distance press versus a small dull short distance press.
Basically my left touchpad button has worn down and isn't as "springy" as my right touchpad button which acts like new due to relatively less use.
If I told suppot at dell that the button was like this do you think they would repair it and if so how would they do it?
Do they have to remove the whole plate around the keyboard or something? Because that looks really set in.
I bought a Sony Vaio VGN-FW51MF about a month ago with Windows 7 and its developed a weird fault both the touchpad buttons don't work except for being able to select one of the quicklaunch icons,
no other icons respond to either buttons either single or double click, I can use the click on the touchpad itself to get around but this has only happened in the last couple of days,
I've tried reinstalling the driver, system restore and even removing the battery for 10 seconds but they still don't work and under the settings they are configured correctly
My Vaio is just out of warranty and it's always had a bit of a clicky odd left-button.
I've noticed that it is gradually getting worse so I'm expecting it to break soon. I should have had it done while the computer was in warranty, but I've heard bad things about their service centre, and they'd probably have charged me for the repair anyway. I did ask them about it toward the end of the warranty period and they wanted me to email them Admin passwords and then pick up the computer for an undisclosed period. I just didn't fancy it - my fault.
Anyway, I have several friends at work who are IT technicians and one of them will have a look. I haven;t found a service manual for the CR series yet, but I'm assuming the buttons are part of the mount for the trackpad and can either be replaced individually or the mount (or pad) can be replaced.
It's just over a year old and I'm thinking about boosting the RAM, HD and upgrading to W7, but on the other hand, I'm not convinced the machine is going to survive another 2-3 years...
I have a collapsed left mouse button on my m1530 touchpad. The button still works but does not return to its original position so it is most likely the return spring (or whatever it is) that is broken.
The laptop is out of warranty so I'm looking for a way to fix this myself. I've tried searching for this part but with no success,
and I can't find any pictures of this part to tell whether I can use some other substitute.
I bought new HP G4-1037 tu laptop............ I installed Synaptics version 15.0.7.0..........All things are working properly but the ON/OFF button on top left with indication light is not working .......How i can activate this feature of touchpad..
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I depress the left button on the touchpad it "single clicks". When I release pressure from that button there is another "single click". I have looked at the Mouse settings and I do not see an option for this.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an HP Chromebook 14. Two issues, one the mouse arrow has disappeared while using the touch pad. The cursor (arrow) reappears when I plug in a wireless mouse. Second I have seen where it says to hit the Esc+Refresh+Power and this might regain the mouse cursor. Where or what the "Refresh Button is".
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust got a Thinkpad SL510 2847 D2U, Windows 7 Prof.(64 bit). Â Â
Often when I touch the Touchpad I see the arrow on screen change to a "button" being displayed. Â And the button is not like using the arrow. Â Very difficult to work with it. Â So I keep moving around Touchpad to get rid of the "button" and return to arrow.
How to rid of this "button" action? Â Or what am I doing to cause it? I believe I have changed the sensitivity of the touchpad. Â I'll check again.
Using an XPS15. My left touchpad button has some problems. It seems to only work if it's pressed 2-3 times, or if you push it down hard...
Could this be related to any settings / firmware? - I think it's more likely that's it's probably failing and needs to be replaced?
I have a permanent battery failure message...
I wish to disable the touch pad on my Inspiron 1545 with Windows 8.. I have a Logitech wireless mouse. Currently both the mouse and the touch pad operate the curser. I want to only use the mouse. In Windows 7 the default was mouse only as soon as the wireless interface was installed. This is not the case with Windows 8.
I've been told to go to the Device driver and select the touch pad under Mouse and other pointers. The touch pad is not listed. I've tried disabling the PC Mouse compatible but the disable button is inactive.
I ordered a Sony Vaio VGN-FW340J/B earlier today and was wondering if anyone has any opinions + or - about it?
View 10 Replies View Relatedfeedback regarding the DV3z model on HP.com's website. I've seen a thread regarding the DV3 that best buy sells with an intel processor (their "blue series" or whatever) but haven't seen much regarding the AMD version HP sells direct.
Are there owners of it on here? If so what are your general impressions? A good buy? OK w/ battery, heat, noise, etc?

will it be good for surfing, watching movies, playing some games?
I need to make a decision on a laptop in the next 24 hours....
I was waiting for the new HP Elitebook 8540w, but that is exorbitantly priced...
I was considering the new Lenovo W510, but the screen I require is out of stock for at least a month...
I wanted to wait for the next refresh of the MBP, but not even god knows when that is...
So considering the above, it appears my only option is to go with a current gen MBP and pray they refresh in the next 14 days.
So to the questions -
1. Have you had any quality issues with the current gen MBP models? Any overheating, under-performance issues?
2. If you got the top end 15, do you wish you would of just gone to the 17?
3. This will be a case where I have Parallels running non stop as there are some critical applications that must run under Windows, but the rest is under OSX (I'm not getting this laptop just to run Windows). Considering it seems OSX uses less memory, is 4GB sufficient to run IO intensive applications in Parallels?
I'm almost down to my choice on laptop the Toshiba at bestbuy seems to be winning but today I seen an offer for the xps 16 that comes with a 2 year basic warranty which is in home repair after phone Diagnostics,Has anybody used this service?Do they come out right away? ....

Im starting a thread b/c many people seem to be experiencing some issues with their Latitude while docked.
Some of my problems (keep in mind I use TWO external displays):
1) Most prevalent is my fan issue. This might only apply to nVidia GPU users. It appears that two things are happening: a) the dock simply does not allow for proper heat dissipation.
This for me is a fact as my laptop runs both cooler and, utlizes much lower fan speeds while undocked. b) DELL may have set the fans to kick in at lower temps particularly with the nvidia gpu
I watched a movie on my laptop and connected my surround audio receiver to the audio out jack. At first,
I heard feedback whining from the speakers. Once I disconnected the AC adapter power cord and used only the battery did the whine go away. Do you guys notice the same behavior?
It looks like the AC adapter is not fully shielded.
