HP M6 Envy :: TouchPad No Longer Works?

My HP M6 Envy notebook TouchPad (Board ID: TM2054-001) Firmware has been updated with the wrong version (TM2251-001) Firmware. Now it does not work!!
I am running Windows 8.1 with latest updates, and have exhausted things like hard reset, try different version of drivers, in fact, i have an other hard disk with fully operational Windows 7 that I also tried,... nothing worked..
Does any Firmware image for the Synaptics TM2051-001 TouchPad ?? Or; how to create a backup firmware image file? I have another M6 Notebook that I can dumb the Firmware

The SSD in my laptop (HP Pavilion dv7t-6c00 CTO Quad Edition) recently died, so I got a new 120GB SSD and installed a non-OEM version of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (this is because my SSD apparently isn't large enough for the Recovery Disks HP sent me -- long story). The past few days I've been installing all the necessary drivers, and just about everything is working like it did weeks ago. However, there is one problem: my TouchPad can no longer be turned off by double-tapping in the top-left corner.
I've tried three different Synaptics TouchPad drivers. The one found on HP's website (v. 15.3.11.0), the one I get when I click "update driver software" in Device Manager (v. 15.3.29.0), and the one found on Synaptics' own website (v. 17.0.19). I've checked out "TouchPad Properties" for all of them, and they've not been of any support.
For my current driver, however, when I click on "settings" under "Tapping," there's an area called "TouchPad Disable Zone Settings," that has a checkbox that says: "Double Tap to Enable or Disable TouchPad". However, the entire area is grayed out, and I can't check or uncheck the box (though, for what it's worth, it is currently checked). I candisable it manually in the "TouchPad Settings" tab of "Mouse Properties," but I'd prefer to just get the shortcut functionality back.

On my Vaio TZ150N, after installing Winows 7, everything works, except the built-in WebCam. I have tried re-installing the drivers from both Sony and Ricoh, but no use so far.

I've recently upgraded my XPS M1730 to Vista and upon doing so I've noticed that both my headphone jacks no longer work...
Only the one closest to the front of the laptop works, the middle jack doesn't work. Any ideas if this has to do with Vista?

I just got a new macbook pro last monday and one of the usb ports doesnt work... I bought it at an apple store about 45 minutes from where I live... and I have set up an appointment with the genius bar (this is the only option they gave me). Do you think they will just replace it and give me another one (new)? I am a CS student taking summer classes and it is required for me to have a laptop. The laptop is only 10 days old... and I still have all of the original cd's, case, etc...

I encountered this problem today when i tried to scroll up a website and it simple didn't scrolled up so I tested it in some other programs to make sure it isnt just the scrolling. Then I booted into bios and the key works there fine and when windows started up the key was working for brief moment and then stopped working.
That points toward some program that might be doing it but I don't have a clue which one.

I noticed last week that the back light option on my keyboard no longer functions.I know the Fn key works on the keyboard as I can perform other Fn+ tasks and I know that the right arrow key (which is the same combo key that controls back-lighting) also functions on it's own.
Aside from normal Windows 7 updates, the only changes to my laptop recently has been flashing to the A07 bios and the new power supply mailed out by Dell.Am I missing a software option somewhere that defaults my back-lighting to off? Or is it a mistake (or intention) of the A07 bios to disable this feature given the recent power supply throttle issues with this model laptop.

I want to know how much it would cost to have my sound port / speaker port replaced on my Dell Inspiron 1750 Laptop. If you plug in speakers or a headset you have to wiggle the cord to hear anything but it keeps going out. So I'd need to send it in and have it fixed. I no longer have a warranty.

I bought my ThinkPad T530 laptop in August of this year and about a month ago I used the Lenovo ThinkVantage updater and it updated the driver for my web cam. Ever since then it has stopped working.
Whenever I open the web conferencing menu, it only shows options for the microphone, and nothing for the camera. I have tried hitting Fn+F6 and accessing it via other software e.g. Skype, Oovoo, Picasa. And they say that my webcam cannot be detected.
When I checked for the webcam in device manager it said it was installed and working properly, and that the driver was up to date. I went to the lenovo website and downloaded the driver for the camera from there (g1ca16ww) and tried to update the driver manually hoping that that would fix the problem. Alas, it did not. I also checked the BIOS settings to make sure that the camera was enabled. It was.
So then I tried to reinstall the driver by uninstalling it, and using the driver I downloaded from the Lenovo website to reinstall. It installed properly, but now the webcam is no longer listed in the hardware manager and the dropdown for Imaging Devices, where it was located before, is no longer visible. I also rechecked the BIOS menu to make sure the camera was still listed there and it is. I do not know why it isn't working. I have also tried system restore and that didn't work either, the device still isn't listed. I don't want to have to wipe my computer.

I installed Windows 8 on my Vostro 3560 and even installing the new driver for Win8 video card AMD HD 7670 Randeon the note presents several bugs this board, such as:* apps made for Win8 (with technology underground) not roam well with AMD board, where they are fighting or simply leave the slow note.* The computer now does not go into an idle state automatically after the time set in the Power Options, due to various errors that prevent this driver please note the suspended state.* The fingerprint reader no longer works at the log on screen or lock Windows 8. The reader only works when I'm on the desktop or on the start screen, also due to a problem with the video card drivers because it is causing several incompatiblidades system.All these mistakes I vii event log windows.Have I contacted AMD who said that Dell is to update the driver for the notebook has two cards (intel and AMD) and fits Dell make changes and corrections.And then Dell??

I can no longer use Simple Pass to log into a BOA on-line account. When I swipe my finger, a message indicates that simple pass is launching the address but nothing happens and the website doesn't open.Simple Pass came with my HP Pavilion DV6T-7000 CTO laptop with a 64 bit operating system. I currently use windows 7. Google Chrome is my default search engine but I also use IE on occasion. Previously when my Simple Pass worked, my BOA location was only opening in IE.

My laptop has been very happily connecting wirelessly for many years and all of a sudden in the last 2 days it is refusing to connect wirelessly saying there are no wireless networks. the wireless button is turned on and all other devices in the house connect. I have tried wired via an ethernet cable and all is fine. I have tried updating the driver and backing out to the previously installed driver and neither resolves the issue.

My Latitude E6410 Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit machine crashed yesterday and when it came back up I was no longer able to use the touch-pad buttons below the touchpad, or the middle button above the touchpad. The pointer stick, along with the right and left button above the touchpad are still working properly.
I have tried reinstalled the ALPS driver and the Dell touchpad software.When I open the touchpad software it shows the touchpad as being enabled but it does not show any configuration for the pointer stick or buttons above the touchpad. what driver or application I need to install to get my touchpad and buttons operational again?

Touch pad is no longer working. I have had my Dell Inspiron 17R for abut 15 months and the touchpad has not worked for at least 12 of them. At first I noticed the problem after my computer would install updates and I'd have to restore the computer to a particular snapshot point. That worked for all of one week. Then I also checked the drivers. That was unsuccessful. I have also tried pressing F3 + Fn and nothing. I won't begin to mention that I have to hold this laptop a particular way to get it to turn on.... I do know, the touchpad on a basically new laptop is supposed to work and the device is supposed to turn on when you press the power button without having to do some form of sorcery.

HP ENVY 15-3247nr Notebook PC Windows 8.1 update 1 x64Installed latest drivers available for this model.When I turn it on and I get this [URL] bluetooth adapters. Wifi is off. Wifi button is unresponsive. I have to restart (not shutdown) so I could get: [URL] Bluetooth adapter is present. Wifi its connected automatically. Button its on white color.
Wifi is detected at windows final setup install with native drivers but same happens. Windows update also found a new update on Centrino Advanced-N 6235 drivers. Same problem.Its like something at startup is not loaded but loads successfully on restart.I'm truly puzzled here.

I have owned my Dell M1330 notebook PC (specs in signature below) for over 4 years. Several weeks ago, the left and right-click touchpad buttons stopped working. The touchpad itself seems to be operating normally. I surmise I inadvertently deactivated the touchpad. I checked the manual, but it did not reveal how to reactivate (or deactivate) the touchpad buttons. How to reactivate the touchpad buttons, such as using the shortcut keys? I read one post in a PC forum of a similar situation; in that situation, the user's touchpad cable had come loose, but I understand this is a rare occurrence. How to reactivate the touchpad left and right-click buttons.

All I have just recently re-installed windows 8.1 to my Acer Aspire ES1-711-C231 laptop, the touchpad was working fine before but since the re-install it is no longer recognised/detected by windows 8.1. I have download the device driver from the support page (Elantech touchpad) but still no joy.

I purchased my laptop about two years ago. A few days ago, the screen suddenly dies, and on boot, it flickers a few times with the proper display, but then goes blank. The backlight seems to remain on though. When I use an external monitor with the HDMI port, the external monitor works fine, however the laptop screen remains blank. When I restart my computer, my sound works for an hour or two and then suddenly shuts off. It does this with or without headphones. It works again as soon as I restart the computer, but I'd really love not to have to restart my computer every hour just to get the sound to work.
Also- downloading Windows 8 isn't an option as a lot of my work is incompatible with windows 8.
