When I connect ethernet cable to my Envy 15 j150us laptop the upper one of two led indicators which is link indicator never lights up, however second led that is activity indicator is blinking and internet connection works fine.

There was a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium- 64bit.
After searching around online, got a hint of what to do.
Made it to the Device Manager, these are missing or non existant (small yellow exclamation triangle):
Ethernet Controller (Hardware ID: PCI/VEN_10EC&DEV_8136)
Network Controller (Hareware ID: PCI/VEN_14E4&DEV_4727)
PCI Device (Hareware ID: PCI/VEN_10EC&DEV_5209)
SM Bus Controller (Hardware ID: PCI/VEN_1022&DEV_780B)
Along with finding the proper downloads, I'm not sure in which order I should be installing them (if there is a specific order at all), and if I need to reboot every time I install something new.

Wifi is detected at windows final setup install with native drivers but same happens. Windows update also found a new update on Centrino Advanced-N 6235 drivers. Same problem.Its like something at startup is not loaded but loads successfully on restart.I'm truly puzzled here.
My HP Envy m6 laptop cannot connect to our wifi connection and only connects using the cable connection, ethernet.
It was still fine when I downloaded windows 8.1 but all of a sudden displays limited/no connectivity. I tried everything I can including resetting tcp ip settings thru command prompt, finding other drivers till someone suggested me to put my laptop back to windows 8. Still didn't fix the problem. Now, my laptop does not access wifi nor detect any wireless connection whether our home wifi, or others.
Suddenly I can't turn the wirelss key from orange. I tried to use "windows mobility" as suggested on several forums but there is no such "tile" when I invoke it.

I have an acer aspire 5750z computer, a while back my wifi suddenly stopped working, but the ethernet is fine. I've searched the internet and tried to install the required driver (Atheros), but when I try it says that the "drive might have been ejected please reinsert it now" or something along those lines. When I go to the driver manager the wifi driver isn't even listed under network adapters, oonly the ethernet drver was there. I've heard that if your computer has had a virus or if you had dropped it the wifi card might have been damaged and I wanted to know if that's true, and if so can I buy a new wifi card?

The problem is that while watching online video(youtube) through the web browsers, first of all the video playing smoothly, but after a few seconds, the video stops a while, and then continue play but the video is freeze while the audio works fine, then it completely stops. I have smooth Internet connectivity, i have checked all the flash player on browsers, drivers are updated, except for Intel HD Graphics, current version is 10.18.10.3304 , while the newest version is 15.33.18.64.3496 (10.18.10.3496) 140mb, after downloaded and run, it says that my OS does not match.

I've checked BIOS settings, tried seemingly every combination of driver uninstalls/reinstalls, confirmed that both the Dell and Microsoft ambient light sensor services are enabled and running (and tried disabling, one, the other, and both) and have not had any luck. Unlike some other posts I found on here with the same-body Lattitude models, I can control the backlight manually with both the keyboard and software - it is only the ambient sensor that does not work.
I am running BIOS A15, and Windows 7 x64 RTM.
So, I have B590 Lenovo Notebook with Windows 8 and the Wi-Fi doesn't work well.
When I try connect at home, my Wi-fi works fine. Not problem. But when I try another one - e.g. In School or somewhere in the city, the others wi-fis don't work. Windows 8 tell me something like "It's not possible to connect" .....
I have a Compaq 3000 Laptop, it's almost 2.4 Years old now, over the period of time I dint faced any issues with my Machine.it all started yesterday.
I was watching a movie on my Laptop yesterday, after sometime the screen froze up but the movie was playing as I was able to hear whats going in the movie.
Later I tried restarting the machine, what i get is the machine boots up properly, but the screen doesnt display anything thing, it shows up a blank white screen, sometime when the windows XP loading picture comes up the screen shows light distorted colors but again goes white blank.
I did approached a local vendor for that but he says that we need to replace on the motherboard, I was not much convinced over his explanation over the issue.
I would like to know your views on what might be the problem with my Machine.
I am going to try over connecting an external monitor and see if LCD is the problem, but I would like to know more what all possible options are there which might be affecting my machine and how much would it cost me in the worst possible case.
my studio 1747 (not in warranty) (i7 win7),has stopped booting anymore it was working fine till last week ( occasionally my screen does flick in last coupon of month), So when I do turn my system on all upper volumn light flashes from left to right and then right to left and then system turn off itself, during that period screen show no display.
connecting external monitor (TV via hdmi) does work and system boots fine show display on external monitor but no display on system LCD. Something display flicks on external montor also, it happens when my laptop LCD tries to display something (i.e. sometime laptop LCD flicks and sometime it display for few seconds and then go back to Black screen). Also when connect external monitor my mouse pad stops work and sometime works when I connect usb mouse, but when LCD screen start display something, mouse pad also starts work.I tried all stuff, whatever I could find on internet as below
1) Taking battery off and press power button for 1 min.
2) Hold 'D' key and then press power button LCD sometime show some color and then goes back to black.
3) Removed battery and CMOS battery to total drain of charges.
4) Removed keyboard panel and checked LCD display cable and make sure its not loose.
To me it seems like motherboard, graphic card are fine as system is working on external monitor, LCD screen also looks fine as sometime is display and not greying out (its either Black-out or display). As I have also checked cable is properly attached with motherboard, so it can't be loose connection. Don't understand why LCD works sometime.

But, since the driver thinks there is no access, I have to disable WiFi to force the laptop to use the wired LAN. Device Manager says everyhting works fine. Driver update says I have the latest driver (12.10.29.0 dated 2014-05-02). My T430 with the same adapter works fine. What do I do? Only difference between T530 and T430 is the T530 is in a dock.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've got an HP Pavilion g6-2260sh notebook with Windows 8.1 Pro operating system. My problem is that the internet download speed had fallen from 80 Mbits to 3-4 Mbits. The upload speed stayed the same as before, 25 Mbits. My notebook is connected to a router with another notebook and a PC. Those 2 computers have excellent internet speeds. I've reinstalled the operating system, but the issue still persists. After the reinstallation, the speed was fine for maybe an hour and then it dropped to 3-4. I only installed drivers from the hp driver finder, nothing else. I've tried the connection with cable and wi-fi with the same results. The device manager shows 1 Unknown device and 1 missing driver for Ralink_RT3290_Bluetooth_01

The pc came with windows 8 installed so when i tried to install windows 7 64 bit i noticed the hard drive was GPG encrypted so i had to open the laptop and take out the hdd to reformat it with another computer. That went well. I installed windows 7 but i noticed the ony driver that wont work is the Network Controller driver. I have internet in the computer through a flash usb but now i need to use my wireless internet instead. So i downloaded every driver from my laptop but it wont work so i wonder if the network card is broken. In every network card i've seen on laptops there are to cables connecting the card to the motherboard. One white cable and on black cable but this laptop has only a black cable.

My problem is that my audio shuts off after a few minutes, then if I want it back I have to restart the PC and it appears fine, but imagine having to restart your computer after initially powering up EVERY time you want to use the PC. The Support assistant says my drivers are up to date which may be the problem due to the fact that I did not have this issue until recently which tells me that one of the automatic updates caused this problem.
Additionally, a problem that was never fixed was that my internet inexplicably drops for no apparent reason. Sporadic problem and has nothing to do with my connection as it as occurred in multiple physical locations. Opening up Internet explorer and clicking "fix connection" works after a few minutes, but this is only a bandaid solution.
I just installed a new OS and I cannot get on the Internet to download any drivers. Apparently the system does not see the Ethernet card.

I have a hp mini 210-2145. It had windows 7 home edition 32bit on it but I formatted it and put windows 7 professional 64 bit on. I cant get the wifi to work. I finally got the regular plug in to work but still no wifi. I have went to the driver site and installed both chip sets. and downloaded a bunch of the internet drivers listed on the network drivers list. After installing a bunch of them i noticed the system scan. It detected that i had a 802.11b/g/n WLAN. Thats the irst one on the site so i redownloaded and instaled it and it still isnt working. In the device manager it shows the yellow exclamation and just says ethernet controller.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a new Compaq CQ58-353EM laptop. It came with preinstalled system (Windows 8). Afterwards I installed Windows and HP updates.
The problem I have is with the Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller (ethernet). In the device manager it is shown with a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark. In the device state it is stated: Your computer's system firmware does not include enough information to properly configure and use this device. To use this device, contact your computer manufacturer to obtain a firmware or BIOS update. (Code 35).
Laptop has all system and hp updates installed.
I tried the following to resolve the problem:
- 2 different bios versions (F.26 and F.25).
- several add/remove/reinstall of the Realtek drivers
- 2 different versions of Realtek drivers: 8.3.730.2012 and 8.20.815.2013 (from Realtek site).
Ethernet is working OK under Ubuntu.
