So, I have B590 Lenovo Notebook with Windows 8 and the Wi-Fi doesn't work well.
When I try connect at home, my Wi-fi works fine. Not problem. But when I try another one - e.g. In School or somewhere in the city, the others wi-fis don't work. Windows 8 tell me something like "It's not possible to connect" .....
I manage to pair my 2-in-1 pc Acer Switch 10 with an externat Bluetooth (bt) device only when the tablet is connected to my home wifi network. As soon as I disconnect from the wifi network, the pairing with the bt device is disabled. If I try to pair the bt device when wifi connection is off, the pairing succeeds just for a few seconds (1 or 2) and then it disconnects.
The support assistance of the bt device, since it actually manages to pair with the pc in such wifi wird conditions, suggested that it probably can be a problem due to the chip of the pc that probably manages both the wifi and the bt connections and is not able to manage them separately.

Basically, i recently purchased a Lenovo Ideapad U410 blue from Canada Computer & Electronic. Everything was good until recently, I am having trouble connect to my home network!! It was fine, but two days ago, it just frequently drop out from my home wifi( keep saying limited access, no internet connection, then identifying.....no network access)
The problem is, all other devices i got are fine! My other laptop, my phone, and my ipad are all good to connect to my home wifi!!! And what's more confusing is that, my U410 is OK to connect to other network like the hotspot I set up from my iphone(just trying), my frds' wifi......And what's even more bothering, is that it happened two days ago, and yesterday the problem just magically disappeared!! I used it surfing internet for the whole last night with my home wifi and no problem with it.
However, i woke up this morning, problem popped up again,, can't connect to internet! I mean, the signal is super good!!!! no problem with detecting network, even connecting, it just wont identify or whatever. Drivers all up to date! I mean is a brand new computer....
SO is it my laptop's problem, or my network adapter's problem , or is it my router's problem!!!

After turning the wifi off and back on the internet connects and works for few hours. After few hours, it lost internet connectivity again with the same above symptoms. I have this laptop now for 3 days and in past 3 days I had this problem at least 25 times.
Taskbar icon for Gigabit Network Connection shows "No Internet Access". But Internet access works fine. But, since the driver thinks there is no access, I have to disable WiFi to force the laptop to use the wired LAN. Device Manager says everyhting works fine. Driver update says I have the latest driver (12.10.29.0 dated 2014-05-02). My T430 with the same adapter works fine. What do I do? Only difference between T530 and T430 is the T530 is in a dock.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've just bought this laptop, and it came with windows 8 preinstalled, and I'm trying to install Windows 7 on it.
I have a bootable usb, which I've used many times to install Windows on my other laptops, but the B590 just wont do it. I feel like I've tried everything. I changed the boot priority order in BIOS with USB HDD as number 1 but it still just boots into windows 8.
I've tried removing everything but USB devices from the boot order, and now I get this boot menu: [URL]
Which is exactly what I want to boot from, but when I press enter to boot from the USB device, nothing happens.
The USB device IS bootable with a primary partition. I've used these steps to make it bootable in DISKPART [URL]
After having no luck on the B590, I tried booting on the USB on a different computer, and it works perfectly well. Starts installing windows 7. So it seems like the problem is not with my usb device.
I even tried restoring the USB drive and using Lenovo Bootable Generator application to make the usb bootable, with the same result.
I bought a Lenovo B590 model a couple of months ago, and since yesterday when the computer turn on, show me the message "Keyboard not Detected". Obviously when starting the keyboard and touchpad do not work.The machine has not suffered any blow or fall or anything like that.
View 5 Replies View RelatedYesterday, I bought a Kingston 4GB PC3-12800 CL11 204 Pin SODIMM RAM chip from my local hardware store because I wanted to upgrade my Lenovo B590 memory, which - by default - has 4GB of DDR3 RAM installed. I had already double checked if the memory was compatible with my B590 by calling Lenovo Support and searching the web (yielding this post, for example). Both sources confirmed upgrading should not be a problem if I did not exceed the 8GB limit. However, after I had hooked up the RAM, I found that it was not being recognized by both my OS (Windows) and my BIOS. They are still indicating that I only have the factory 4096MB installed.How can I make my system utilize this RAM upgrade?
When I was determining which RAM to buy, I did also check what kind of memory was already installed in my B590 by the manufacturer. I unscrewed my notebook and found one memory chip, brand Hynix, of which I assumed it was one chip of 4GB. However, results for looking up its serial on the web show that it is actually one 2GB DDR3 SDRAM chip. I checked my hardware but could not see any other chip (although I am 100% sure my system has 4 GB RAM installed by the manufacturer).
My fan is not working properly, in fact it only runs for few seconds at booting and then never again.
My cores get about 70°C and higher (with only Skype and Chrome on), so I'm forced to use external fan to by able to work.
I found this problem when I was working and then my notebook suddenly shutdown a I wasn't able to turn it on for a while. Then I grabed it and I almost get 3rd degree burns.
Two noisy external fans, that I have to use to keep core under 70°....
The touchpad shows only as a mouse, and scrolling & the fn+f6 option do not worked, I had it on win 8&7, worked on neither of them. I couldn't find a dedicated driver for it, and I couldn't find a post that states whether this touch pad should have those options working or it was never intended to.
View 6 Replies View RelatedFor about week I have problems with sound device, so that no sound is played. When I start my notebook it works few minutes, then it stops and when I wanna to test it it gives me error message:
"The device is being used by another application. Please close any devices that are playing audio to this device and then try again.", even when I have no programs running.
I tried all solutions that I found. Disable device, enable divace, restart Windows audio service, Troubleshooter. One think that work (sometimes) is to restart my notebook. But constantly restarting isn't quite the solution I'm satisfied with.
I am using a B590 booting from a mSATA SSD (Mushkin). I am booting in to Ubuntu 12.04. Everything worked fine for half a year. Last week booting from the SSD did not work any more. Now the mSATA SSD is not visible in my BIOS, under Windows 7 oder several Linux distros. I cannot access the mSATA SSD at all. I am especially surprised that my configuration quit working from one day to the other without any action from my side. The usual set of questions:

Device Manager:
I see 2 graphics devices
Intel HD Graphics
NVIDIA GeForce GT 720M
The discrete card is disabled with error code 43 and has an exclamation mark near it [URL] .... Moreover, if i start the NVidia Control Panel it gives me an error with text: "current display is not connected to nvidia GP" GeFoerce Experience is not starting with a back-end error [URL] ...
Now here are the ways i tried to use but it did not work:
1. Enable high performance and update with manually downloaded nvidia driver
2. Do the same with HDMI cble connected to a plasma
3. Disable enable the device (screen goes black, than to normal and everything stays the same)
4. Format c: reinstall Win8.1 64 and install all drivers - same thing
5. Format c: reinstall Win7 64 and install the graphics drivers after everything else (h1d9d9.exe h2d903.exe)
6. Update GT720M drivers from device manager (driver is up to date)
7. Run a high-performance 3D game (War Thunder) - it uses Intel HD
What else can i do? I saw people with switchable graphics use some kind of application to specify the game-apps that should use a discrete videocard. I don't have such an app to specify my games.
I went into my webcam this morning and the only thing that came up on the screen was a picture of a camara crossed out? I am not sure why this is doing it...

The problem is that while watching online video(youtube) through the web browsers, first of all the video playing smoothly, but after a few seconds, the video stops a while, and then continue play but the video is freeze while the audio works fine, then it completely stops. I have smooth Internet connectivity, i have checked all the flash player on browsers, drivers are updated, except for Intel HD Graphics, current version is 10.18.10.3304 , while the newest version is 15.33.18.64.3496 (10.18.10.3496) 140mb, after downloaded and run, it says that my OS does not match.

Problem: Video playback in flash players like www.dailymotion.com is choppy when notebook is running on battery. The same video playback is perfect when I connect the external power supply.
Has anyone had an issue where the ALS suddenly stops working under Windows 7? I've checked BIOS settings, tried seemingly every combination of driver uninstalls/reinstalls, confirmed that both the Dell and Microsoft ambient light sensor services are enabled and running (and tried disabling, one, the other, and both) and have not had any luck. Unlike some other posts I found on here with the same-body Lattitude models, I can control the backlight manually with both the keyboard and software - it is only the ambient sensor that does not work.

I bought Lenovo L440 few days ago.
I have problem with wifi connection. Wifi works perfect with other devices: phones, tablets, laptops. When I connect to wifi with L440, wifi works 5-30 min. and then crash. L440 kills wifi network. All devices can't connect to wifi until I restart router.
I have read about this problem, but in task manager I can't find "discovery.exe" or LenovoEMC Storage Connector in Contral Panel.
I have a Compaq 3000 Laptop, it's almost 2.4 Years old now, over the period of time I dint faced any issues with my Machine.it all started yesterday.
I was watching a movie on my Laptop yesterday, after sometime the screen froze up but the movie was playing as I was able to hear whats going in the movie.
Later I tried restarting the machine, what i get is the machine boots up properly, but the screen doesnt display anything thing, it shows up a blank white screen, sometime when the windows XP loading picture comes up the screen shows light distorted colors but again goes white blank.
I did approached a local vendor for that but he says that we need to replace on the motherboard, I was not much convinced over his explanation over the issue.
I would like to know your views on what might be the problem with my Machine.
I am going to try over connecting an external monitor and see if LCD is the problem, but I would like to know more what all possible options are there which might be affecting my machine and how much would it cost me in the worst possible case.
my studio 1747 (not in warranty) (i7 win7),has stopped booting anymore it was working fine till last week ( occasionally my screen does flick in last coupon of month), So when I do turn my system on all upper volumn light flashes from left to right and then right to left and then system turn off itself, during that period screen show no display.
connecting external monitor (TV via hdmi) does work and system boots fine show display on external monitor but no display on system LCD. Something display flicks on external montor also, it happens when my laptop LCD tries to display something (i.e. sometime laptop LCD flicks and sometime it display for few seconds and then go back to Black screen). Also when connect external monitor my mouse pad stops work and sometime works when I connect usb mouse, but when LCD screen start display something, mouse pad also starts work.I tried all stuff, whatever I could find on internet as below
1) Taking battery off and press power button for 1 min.
2) Hold 'D' key and then press power button LCD sometime show some color and then goes back to black.
3) Removed battery and CMOS battery to total drain of charges.
4) Removed keyboard panel and checked LCD display cable and make sure its not loose.
To me it seems like motherboard, graphic card are fine as system is working on external monitor, LCD screen also looks fine as sometime is display and not greying out (its either Black-out or display). As I have also checked cable is properly attached with motherboard, so it can't be loose connection. Don't understand why LCD works sometime.
When I connect ethernet cable to my Envy 15 j150us laptop the upper one of two led indicators which is link indicator never lights up, however second led that is activity indicator is blinking and internet connection works fine.
View 3 Replies View RelatedV570 - works great! Upgraded to Win8 but had probs with it so did a "refresh" and that pretty much cleared it up.Bored so got a Sammy 840Pro SSD. Cloned with stand-alone Acronis Trueimage 2013. Boots and works fine. Had the SSD plugged to the eSATA.Then I noticed that on cold startup, it was not giving me the BIOS options of F2 and F12, and pressing them did nothing - it just booted up Win. Did a lot of googling at this point but no joy.I then noticed that on a restart from Win8 , it DID give me the BIOS options and I could get into the BIOS. But that's a dicey way to run!!! I early on (a year ago) found that you cannot re-order the devices in BIOS - it resets them to what it wants. (latest BIOS 44CN36WW which is 43 - an old one)
Okay, so boot order is SATA port specific, I put my second HD into the primary position and hung the SSD off the eSATA cable. It insisted that the SSD was bootable device 8 (LOL) and tried very hard to boot from the Realtek LAN port. However it WAS giving me the BIOS options so I could hit F12 and choose the SSD and boot into windows. I also found that if I pulled the RJ45 before I hit power, it would try the Realtek, but then bounce to the list of devices - choose the SSD, and boot into windows.I moved the SSD to the DVD port (I had an adapter), but exact same thing - still calls it 8.So it works and is a good deal faster than the original Toshiba drive which did 90MB read. But there is that unfortunate pause in my 10-15 sec win boot!
Faced with the problem. No sound after the laptop. When you try to check the sound device, a window pops up "the device is already in use by another application." But no program is not running. After rebooting the laptop sound occurs. Drivers are all set.

UEFI boot mode, not Legacy.Drivers for sound downloaded from realtek.com.tw. With standard windows drivers sound is always there. Tried the previous version of the drivers - ineffectually. Could it be that the problem is due to the UEFI boot mode? I do not want to reinstall the OS mode Legacy just to check it out.
I just bought a B590, model 20208, with, i3-3110m, 500GB HDD, GeForce 720M.I installed Win 7 64bits, but in Device Manager, before installing all the drivers appeared Other Devices an Unknown Device with thise details: code 28, Device type: Other devices; Location: on Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controllert . After installing drivers, the problem persists.Another problem was with PCI express but resolved with Intel Management Engine Interface drivers.Other problem resolved was with the GeForce 720 M videocard; wasn't recognized but resolved with the last driver from GeForce site. the last problem remained it's The Unknown Devices.

View 10 Replies View RelatedMy laptop was working correctly and then I booted up one day, the bios worked fine but then the screen went black. I connected an external monitor to the lap-top and the laptop display works fine. As soon as I remove the external monitor, again, I get a black screen on my lap-top.
I have run the full system option of the Dell diagnostics and have 2 errors, battery and dvd flash rom. I have ordered a new battery. I have also noticed that my lap-top does appear to get quite hot.
My Dell XPS 15z is showing the following problem :-- if I try to boot it with the battery connected (and AC power either plugged in or not), the orange power light flashes briefly and then the machine shuts down- if I remove the back of the case, disconnect the battery, connect the AC power cable and boot, the system boots as normal
Other observations
- BIOS version is A07, I can not upgrade this to A12 as, when I try to with the battery disconnected it basically tells me I have to have a battery connected to do the upgrade- when I click on the battery status button on the side of the case with the battery connected, one LED lights- when I click on the battery status button on the side of the case with the battery disconnected, no LEDs light
What are the next diagnostic steps?What is the likely fault - could replacing the battery unit solve the problem or is is the component which charges the battery which is likely to be faulty?The laptop is 18 months old but only covered by a one year warranty with Dell.
I recently purchased a Lenovo ... so I was trying to get some games running on my big screen with my lenovo y50 laptop which I should have set to always use the 860m dedicated card. But when I'm running a second display it defaults to using the Intel 4600 chip, obviously not great for running games. I've tried looking every where in the Nvidia control panel and Intels control panel but can't find anything to fix this issue. That HDMI port is the only display port on the laptop as well.
