Lenovo U/S Series :: IdeaPad U410 WiFi Frequently Disconnected From Home Wireless Connection Only

Sep 3, 2012

Basically, i recently purchased a Lenovo Ideapad U410 blue from Canada Computer & Electronic. Everything was good until recently, I am having trouble connect to my home network!! It was fine, but two days ago, it just frequently drop out from my home wifi( keep saying limited access, no internet connection, then identifying.....no network access)

The problem is, all other devices i got are fine! My other laptop, my phone, and my ipad are all good to connect to my home wifi!!! And what's more confusing is that, my U410 is OK to connect to other network like the hotspot I set up from my iphone(just trying), my frds' wifi......And what's even more bothering, is that it happened two days ago, and yesterday the problem just magically disappeared!! I used it surfing internet for the whole last night with my home wifi and no problem with it.

However, i woke up this morning, problem popped up again,, can't connect to internet! I mean, the signal is super good!!!! no problem with detecting network, even connecting, it just wont identify or whatever. Drivers all up to date! I mean is a brand new computer....

SO is it my laptop's problem, or my network adapter's problem , or is it my router's problem!!!

Lenovo U/S Series :: IdeaPad S415 Touch WiFi Connection Drops Often

Feb 10, 2014

I just purchased the Ideapad S415 Touch.  The wifi connection drops OFTEN.  It still shows that it is connected, but there is no internet pages load, email stops working, etc.  If I hit "disconnect" on the connection, then hit "connect" again, it works great . . . . for a few more minutes or an hour or whatever.  I went into "properties" and changed the settings on roaming and power management per an article I found on this site.  I think this may have worked a bit, but it's still happening.

Lenovo P/Y/Z Series :: IdeaPad Y510 - Limited Internet Connection WiFi

Mar 11, 2014

I have an Ideapad Y510 that has Vista and I'm having a problem connecting to the internet. I have other computers running in the house (this one I'm now typing on) so my internet is working correctly just not on my laptop. The laptop was working and connecting but something happened and now it says that I have limited access to the internet.

I read that it may not be getting an IP address assigned to it. I called my internet provider and they ran through their troubleshooting steps but figured it was in the computer. I don't know if the driver has been corrupted. I got the software CD that came with it and tried to load it again but it didn't work (not sure if I did it correctly).

Lenovo P/Y/Z Series :: IdeaPad Z500 - WiFi Connectivity (Limited Connection / Yellow Triangle)

Mar 21, 2013

I have an ideapad z500 which I'm happy for, but it annoys me that when 'm at my college I can't properly connect to the wi-fi the school has. When I connect, I'm on for usually about half an hour, but then I get the "limited connection" yellow triangle and I have to deactivate the networkcard before I can get a normal connection.

Other times I simply just can't connect, it tries but it fails. When it does, I have to reboot the computer before it succeeds, and that's no good when you are working on a project. At home i have no problems, it works nicely.

Also, how to enable the WiDi on the z500.

My PC is running Win 8 with the Intel Centrino n2230, Intel 3rd. gen i7 (3632qm)

Lenovo U/S Series :: Using SSD And HDD Express Cache In IdeaPad U410

Nov 12, 2012

Lenovo U410 comes with 24 GB SSD and 500 GB HDD. Lenovo claims that they use some express cache to get faster speed during bootup and opening apps.

Lenovo recommends clean install of ideapad system while upgrading to windows 8.

link:

My problem: As I am doing clean install , I want to delete LENOVO partition. The technical support guy also told me in phone that I can delete the partition and create my own.

But how will I use ssd and hdd? In my laptop, the windows OS was installed in 500 GB hdd and 24 GB ssd was used for some "express cache" .

But if I delete all the partition, how will I configure such that 24 gb ssd is used? Because lenovo does not provide any software named "express cache"  in their site.

BUT they provide "Intel Rapid start, Intel rapid storage"

So does these rapid start and storage use 24 GB ssd aand improve my boot time?

Lenovo U/S Series :: IdeaPad U410 - Sound Device Can't Be Found Or Busy

Jun 20, 2013

I cannot get any audio from my IdeaPad.  When I randomly select a mp3 and try to play it with Windows Media Player, I immediately get a mesage that the sound device can't be found or is busy (or something to that effect).  I also don't hear sound from internet videos or system sounds such as the start up song.  The sound is not muted and volume is at 100%.

I have uninstalled the device drivers for both the Connexant audio and microphone, reloaded them, and rebooted.  Same problem.

My question, of course, is: restoring sound from my computer short of a system reset?

Lenovo U/S Series :: IdeaPad U410 - Bluetooth Freezes / Stopped Working After Few Minutes Of Use

Jul 31, 2012

I have had my Ideapad U410 for about 18 months now.

Recently my bluetooth mouse has stopped working after a few minutes of use. If I switch the mouse off and then on again it works again. I assumed that it was a problem with the mouse so I purchased a new one.

Guess what. The same problem.

Now with two blutooth mice displaying the same problem I am guessing that the trouble lies within the laptop, but what to do to identify whats going wrong.

Lenovo Yoga 13 Flex :: Wireless Connection Enabled In Win 8 But WiFi Is OFF Always

Nov 26, 2012

I have read about many issues regarding Wifi connection (connection drops often without any reason, poor signal strength, too long time to establich connection...). My problem could sound similar, but it's rather different:

Although my wireless connection appears like Enabled in Win8, I cannot switch it on / connect. It appears like Not Connected (Wifi = Off). In fact,  I cannot see any wifi network when the list of available networks used to be.

- I checked BIOS, and it's set as Enabled.
- I updated BIOS to the last version.
- I updated wireless wireless drivers to the last version
- I modified the wireless configuration as it's especified in the long forum thread for Wifi issues

But nothing has been successfull. For some strange reason, I cannot switch the wifi device on.

Lenovo C/E/K/M/N/V Series :: N500 Keeps Losing Wireless Connection?

My Lenovo N500 has been connected to my house network for a while now, but recently has been dropping off.  It seems to last for 2-3 minutes before dropping and does not reconnect automatically.

My husband has a laptop on the same network and he does not experience the same problems, so this is not a router problem.

I have checked all the settings and nothing has changed since I was permanently connected.

This problem has only occurred in the last week or so and I really want to throw the machine out of the window at the moment.

Lenovo B / G Series :: G570 - Internet Connection Gets Yellow Exclamation Mark On WiFi Icon

Jul 26, 2012

I received my G570, and have had internet issues since.  It can connect to my WiFi network, however after using the internet for a few minutes, it consistently gets the yellow "!" over the wifi icon in the task bar and says no internet connection and I loose my connection.   I know it is an issue with THIS laptop since my old and decrepit HP laptop which sits next to it works perfectly fine using the same network, as well as my smartphone and room mate's devices.

I have downloaded the Lenovo update software and attempted to use it. I get a message saying something along the lines of no available packages, assuming that means everything is up to date in terms of drivers.

I have done some research with the terms "lenovo, g570, wifi, internet, problems, connection" and yield many pages, however none have seem to provide a solution that works for me.

Lenovo B / G Series :: G560 - Network Disconnected After Waking Up From Hibernation

Dec 20, 2010

For the last two days or so, my Lenovo G560 laptop (running Windows 7, 64-bit, BIOS 2.10) has had problems with its (wired) network adapter after waking up from hibernation. It is shown as disconnected (same as if the cable was physically detached). The only major change I performed in the last few days was installing Service Pack 1. However, the problem only appeared about two days afterwards, so I'm not sure if this is related at all.

In such cases, IPCONFIG reports the following for the NIC:

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected

If I try IPCONFIG /RENEW, I get

Windows IP Configuration No operation can be performed on Local Area Connection while it has its media disconnected.

Hovering over the tray icon says "Not connected". Troubleshooting of course doesn't find anything. Also, there are no weird entries in Event Viewer (unless they're hidden somewhere in other views). Basically the behavior is identical to when the network cable is physically disconnected (unplugged).

Also, unplugging the network cable, waiting a few minutes, and plugging it back again doesn't do anything.

For now I have two workarounds:

-rebooting the system

-right-clicking Local Area Connection (under Network Connections), selecting DISABLE from the menu, waiting for a few moments, and then choosing the ENABLE from the context menu.

Lenovo U/S Series :: U410 - SSD Not Seen In BIOS

Aug 4, 2014

I have had my laptop for over a year, and after upgrading various drivers in an attempt to fix a random power off issue, have now found that the laptop will BSOD everytime I wake it from sleep.

I am running Windows 8.1

The root cause seems to be that the SSD no longer appears in the BIOS, therefore I am unable to re-install the Intel Rapid Start software and enable RAID which seems to be a requirement.

My BIOS version is 65CN97WW dated 29/01/2013

This is what I see using DISKPART

DISKPART> list disk

Disk ### Status Size Free Dyn Gpt
-------- ------------- ------- ------- --- ---
Disk 0 Online 931 GB 0 B *
There is definitely an SSD in the laptop.

Can this be fixed with a BIOS update?

Lenovo Yoga Flex 14 :: Dropping Bluetooth Connection On IdeaPad I3 Laptop?

Jul 29, 2014

I've been trying to use a Logitech ultrathin touch bluetooth mouse and microsoft sculpt mobile bluetooth keyboard with my ideapad. I'm running Windows 8.1.  Both work fine for a while but then it appears they lose the bluetooth connection. This seems to often coincide with access network/internet over WiFi. The only solution is to call up the Bluetooth manage devices setting and let it reconnect.  If I leave the manage bluetooth device page open on a second screen it works, but clearly its not ideal!

I was running the Lenovo driver for Bluetooth but I've tried removing it and using the Generic Windows driver.  So far though the same happened after a short while.
