I started using my laptop with Windows 8 and everything was working fine. But then Windows upgraded to 8.1 and now I cannot get the Dolby Home Theater v4 to start, I always get the error message about driver.

I was updating some drivers yesterday and I accidentally uninstalled dobly home theater one way or another, and I have been searching the internet far and wide for a download but I could not come across one. When I go into the dolby tab it says I have dolby digital plus, and I can press the blue power button to turn it on, but I cannot select movie, game, or music as they are not there.

Dolby Home theater came with the Ideapad so is there a W8 update for this issue? Or perhaps I should just uninstall Dolby, but what are the consequences when I do so?

when I open the .msi/.exe file(tried both) of dolby home theatre v4 it gives me a error message ''pcee needs to be installed''.At the start dolby wasnt working it was giving a message of the program doesnt work and it says i need to reboot it also but it ddnt worked so I uninstall dolby but I cant install now what must I to do now.Everything happened after trying to update realtek audio with a program. this is how it look at the device manager. Then formated and installed Win7 Pro 64bit. i managed to get everything else in working order except i would like to occasionally turn off the touchpad. i use a mouse for games and such and the hot key doesnt work to turn it off. BTW every other hot key does what its intended to do.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to Install Debian GNU/Linux on my Windows 8 Ideapad Z710, and I can't even get my laptop to boot from external media. From the InsydeH20 Setup Utility, I've so far disabled Secure Boot, set Boot Mode to UEFI, enabled USB Boot, enabled PXE Boot to LAN, and set my EFI boot order to 1) EFI Network 0 for IPv4, 2) EFI Network 0 for IPv6, then 3) Windows Boot Manager (no other options). I'm not actually trying to boot from a network, I just want to boot from the onboard DVD drive or my USB DVD drive. When I boot with these settings, I get the error: EFI Network 0 for IPv4 (...) boot failed, then a similar one for IPv6, then it boots to Windows. Why can't I boot from DVD or USB?
Another thing I've tried is setting Boot Mode to Legacy Support and Boot Priority to Legacy First (with Secure Boot disabled) which results in my laptop booting to straight to Windows even when USB ODD is first in the boot order.

If I leave the screen in this position, the keyboard lights will turn off too. Once I tilt the screen forward and click or hit a key, I'm greeted by the lock screen, and have to enter my password again.

Everything was good until recently, I am having trouble connect to my home network!! It was fine, but two days ago, it just frequently drop out from my home wifi( keep saying limited access, no internet connection, then identifying.....no network access)
The problem is, all other devices i got are fine! My other laptop, my phone, and my ipad are all good to connect to my home wifi!!! And what's more confusing is that, my U410 is OK to connect to other network like the hotspot I set up from my iphone(just trying), my frds' wifi......And what's even more bothering, is that it happened two days ago, and yesterday the problem just magically disappeared!! I used it surfing internet for the whole last night with my home wifi and no problem with it.
However, i woke up this morning, problem popped up again,, can't connect to internet! I mean, the signal is super good!!!! no problem with detecting network, even connecting, it just wont identify or whatever. Drivers all up to date! I mean is a brand new computer....
SO is it my laptop's problem, or my network adapter's problem , or is it my router's problem!!!
I recently purchased a Z710 with 8.1. Is there a way to get a physical or digital copy of my Windows OS in case I ever need to reinstall? OneKey cannot be a replacement for this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently I purchased a Lenovo Ideapad Z510, model name 20287, MO: YB03120328. According to the specification from my reseller (Dutch webshop [URL] and the Lenovo box it was shipped in, this laptop should have a 1000GB hard disk + 8 GB solid state memory (SSD) for caching. My problem is that I am not sure if the 8 GB SSD is working.
The SSD does not show as a drive in "My Computer", it does not show in Window's Disk Management utility (see Figure 1), Intel's Rapid Storage Technology does not show the possibility of using the SSD to accelerate performance (see Figure 2) and when running ExpressCache (with the command "eccmd.exe -info") the program tells me "HFS Volume is not mounted" and "ECCmd exited with error 0x10df (4319)".
All these clues lead me to believe that in fact no 8 GB SSD is installed, or if it is, that it is not working properly. Any additional ways of testing I could use to confirm it is or is not working?
Z710 power management can't install, win7 64 because "Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software"
I pushed the "Install this driver software anyway" but the hardware still wasn't recognized after installation/reboot.
So I installed instead of that the Lenovo Energy Management Software Ver 7.0.3.4 ...
This is working, but I dont know if it is a problem for my system becouse of incompatibility with the battery of Z710.
Any digitally signed driver for my Z710 or I can use the version 7.0.3.4 without problem?
I have bought ideapad y510p with an already pre installed windows 8 and intel vga card. however, i have found out that the nvidia geforce GT 750M is not installed, so i have downloaded the driver with the latest version R331.65 So, normally i have installed the driver. and now even though that i have the latest drivers i wonder why i still have the 1366x768 as the highest resolution and not the 1920x1080. also to my wonder is why when i connect to the monitor it can have the 1920x1080 and not on the laptop screen.
So How to have the 1920x1080 resolution?
