I recently purchased a Z710 with 8.1. Is there a way to get a physical or digital copy of my Windows OS in case I ever need to reinstall? OneKey cannot be a replacement for this?

I pushed the "Install this driver software anyway" but the hardware still wasn't recognized after installation/reboot.
So I installed instead of that the Lenovo Energy Management Software Ver 7.0.3.4 ...

Any digitally signed driver for my Z710 or I can use the version 7.0.3.4 without problem?
I started using my laptop with Windows 8 and everything was working fine. But then Windows upgraded to 8.1 and now I cannot get the Dolby Home Theater v4 to start, I always get the error message about driver.
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust purchased Z710 laptop. I am astonished at the poor performance while browsing the Internet. My 8 yr old Dell/XP outperforms this thing. I hope there is a relatively simple fix for this or I am in deep trouble. Pages slow to open, videos constantly buffering. Multi-tasking is out of the question.
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy Z710 (purchased in April 2014) makes a horrendous buzzing noise when reading a DVD. It appears to be just the DVD faceplate. Oh, and the eject button doesn't work either... so you have to eject through the windows file mgr device control. Neither problem is earth shattering/fatal, but bugs me enough to write this post. Does Lenovo ship a replacement drive in cases like this? I wouldn't dare send in the entire laptop just to have the DVD drive replaced.
BTW, installed Win7x64 on a samsung pro SSD, and this thing is very snappy now. Love the laptop so far with the exception of the track pad which is just about unbearable.
Only Fn+space work.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 and why this doesn't work.
The touchpad on/off function does not persist through system lock/unlock. For instance, with the touchpad disabled, locking my computer will re-enable the touchpad (as will signing back in to my computer account if I take the trouble to disable the touchpad before entering my password).
I permenantly use an external mouse, want to leave my touchpad disabled as it interferes with typing. Thus, I see this as a bug. Is there any way to change this behavior short of a bug report? Perhaps some buried setting?
Running Win 8.1, user is account password protected, but not linked to a Windows live account.
Edit: Laptop has a Synaptics touchpad.
Solution: Solved by going into Control Panel -> Mouse Settings -> Change Mouse settings -> Device Settings -> Settings (Device needs to be enabled for this to be accessible) -> Advance Tab -> Touchpad Status
Under touchpad status, setting was changed to 'keep previous enable/disable status'.
I have problem with my battery. When i unplug AC power laptop is not started. It's running only when the AC is plugged in. Mabe it's a problem with windows 8.1.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI bought this Z710 new but I get a message saying "The battery is unauthorized". Also the battery indicator stays at "0% available (plugged in, not charging)." If I unplug the power cord, the laptop powers off cold. It has always been this way. This is a problem for me because I want to upgrade my BIOS but I can't because I get an error stating "Battry is too low (0 < 30 ). Please charge your battery to 30%." when I try.
How do I get this laptop to start interacting with its battery? I have already tried taking it out and putting it in again and rebooting.
Laptop just arrived! However, my N key doesn't work 4 out of 5 times. I have slowed my typing down so I can verify I am pressing the key firmly enough and I am. I have to press it multiple times for it to finally type the letter N.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to Install Debian GNU/Linux on my Windows 8 Ideapad Z710, and I can't even get my laptop to boot from external media. From the InsydeH20 Setup Utility, I've so far disabled Secure Boot, set Boot Mode to UEFI, enabled USB Boot, enabled PXE Boot to LAN, and set my EFI boot order to 1) EFI Network 0 for IPv4, 2) EFI Network 0 for IPv6, then 3) Windows Boot Manager (no other options). I'm not actually trying to boot from a network, I just want to boot from the onboard DVD drive or my USB DVD drive. When I boot with these settings, I get the error: EFI Network 0 for IPv4 (...) boot failed, then a similar one for IPv6, then it boots to Windows. Why can't I boot from DVD or USB?
Another thing I've tried is setting Boot Mode to Legacy Support and Boot Priority to Legacy First (with Secure Boot disabled) which results in my laptop booting to straight to Windows even when USB ODD is first in the boot order.
i just got my z710 the other day. clone the drive (for a rainy day). Then formated and installed Win7 Pro 64bit. i managed to get everything else in working order except i would like to occasionally turn off the touchpad. i use a mouse for games and such and the hot key doesnt work to turn it off. BTW every other hot key does what its intended to do.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got my new Z710 today, and if the screen tilts too far back (not excessively far, maybe a few degrees past 90), the screen will turn black. If I leave the screen in this position, the keyboard lights will turn off too. Once I tilt the screen forward and click or hit a key, I'm greeted by the lock screen, and have to enter my password again.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I love my Lenovo yoga until I upgraded to windows 8.1 then all of a sudden every time I signed into my computer via Microsoft account my keyboard and audio would be completely disabled I called Lenovo support they connected to my computer went through all of my settings and uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, nothing his last guess was to tell me to restore my computer.
So I did and as my laptop ramped up it asked to sign into a Microsoft account so I did (keep in mind this computer is fully functional after the restore everything works perfect) as soon as I hit the enter key the keyboard and audio become disabled fully disabled my, physical keyboard. Since the computer worked great right after the restore I also know that it is not a hardware issue as I have already sent it out to get all the sensors replaced its a software problem that revolves around my Microsoft account who do I talk to about this Lenovo? Or Microsoft? Lenovo just keeps telling me that I need to restore my computer completely ignoring the exact issues I am describing ,and as far as Microsoft account, this is not something I control I only own the account Microsoft manages it so why is my Microsoft account disabling my keyboard, again I stress I have done every single driver check there is I have uninstalled all of them and reinstalled.
I have looked through my settings as well as had a technician remotely control my computer to confirm that the computer is in perfect working order no settings out of place and then I restored all my settings to default and then restored the computer and everything works great until I enter my Microsoft account email and password then my keyboard becomes disabled instantaneously. And yes I was able to sign in using the keyboard

My E535 will play non-copy protected DVDs that I got from a training program years ago just fine. But although it will play some movies from my local library with no problem, there are certain releases that give me an error message on Windows Media Player that I need to update my drivers and DVD-RW settings or something to that effect, yet all drivers appear up to date and everything seems to be set correctly in Control Panel for the DVD-RW drive.
And occasionally I get a message that "Your computer is running low on memory. Close other programs to continue", or something similar. Huh?? Nothing else is running.
The weird part is that I can play these disks just fine in my 8 year old Dell desktop that's running XP and a much older version of WMP.
FYI, my machine is Windows 7 Home Premium with 4GB RAM, 320GB HD and the AMD A4300 and AMD graphics.

I have used it for mant years without real problems until last week. I am now getting on the bottom right side of my screen "Windows 7 build 7600 .This copy of window`s is not genuine" message . This is the same version that I bought from HP, though I have periodically updated Windows7 with Microsoft's updates. I called Microsoft and they told me that I either needed to purchase the software again or give them my access code from the discs, which I didn't receive from HP. What can I do to either get it to work or fine the Windows7 installation code?

I am very computer savy and have built my own systems and overclocked etc for many years but this is my first laptop so any thing you think I should know just tell me.
Here I go , Why does this laptop have 5gb (4gb system ram and 1gb on the gpu) and a 32bit OS? I am waiting on the windows 7 upgrade but that will also be 32bit, Can I download a copy of windows 7 home premium x64 and use my genuine key, And if I do this can I get all the apps and drivers I need for full functionality of the laptop?
Also, When I turned it on brand new it is using 43% system memory, How much crap is on this thing lol? Is the upgrade cd for windows 7 a full new install or does it just upgrade the os without formatting the drive? Will the drivers needed for the laptop be bundled in the upgrade cd?
Anyone overclocked the cpu or gpu in this lappy?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have got a refurbished T400 (6474WHF) with XP Professional SP3, it works great so far. It has an Firewire (IEEE 1394) interface in front of it. When I connect my digital camera via IEEE, the camera is not recognized in any way. I tested my camera with my other PC, the camera works fine. I guess the IEEE interface is not activated in some way. I checked in BIOS but I could not find an option to enable the Firewire interface. Though, in my Thinkvantage , I found that there should be an IEEE option available. I already updated my BIOS but there is still no IEEE option available. How to activate the internal IEEE interface ?
